This is a really good thing, since they've been open for so long and haven't changed their doughnut recipe. Besides their fun and unique monthly flavors, the good ones I always find myself going back to are the Boston Creme, Maple Bacon, and Apple Fritter. These are classics that are almost always be on the menu. I'm also pretty sure Rocco's has the best Boston Creme in Boston. It's a small shop with tons of options, friendly folk at the counter, and delicious photo-worthy doughnuts. What's not to love?

I do like the selection (big plus) and the crazy flavors will appeal to a wide range of tastes, but there are places where you can still get a fresh donut and sometimes even a warm one. I stopped here one Saturday, picked one up and a delicious cup of coffee (New England Brand is Excellent) then ran up to the library to drop off a book, when I came out my dog had eaten my sandwich. My fault-- I saw the look he was giving me when I got out, and I couldn't blame him because it's THAT good. So I shot back over and got another one. I usually grab a donut too while I'm waiting for my sandwich order-- everything is fresh, the bacon is nice and crisp-- this isn't food made in a microwave like DD-- this is grilled food! It makes me feel guilty for the people behind me and I often rush before fully exploring my options. Also- 90% of the time that I have asked, the attending barista isn't certain what the baked items are and says something like "I think that one is an apricot and cheese danish. Or cheese and some fruit. I'm not positive." At Crust's prices, I'd like to know what I'm buying and I would appreciate time to make a decision. Why won't you tell us what your yummy pastries are?? Back then, Worcester felt like a such a pain to get to that it took me a while to get there. But when I finally found this tiny little place tucked away on Water St, it was like that moment in Willy Wonka where Charlie is aghast at all the sugary delights around him.
