Lobster Mac
Eric H.

Faneuil Hall is a fun place to go but the food is generally middle of the road. It's not bad at all, and we went there a bunch of times while in Boston. Mmmac & cheese is good. I love that they make it right in front of you in a frying pan. My only downside here is the cheese isn't amazing. The lobster and noodles were good. The service was great and the ambiance is fun.

For being in a super touristy spot such as Faneuil Hall and having a plethora of options, this place will be suitable to meeting your Mac and cheese needs. Though a bit overpriced and very overwhelming to go through--this place felt like a decent option to fulfill our lobster Mac needs. While I wouldn't say this is a "must-try" in Boston, you can't go wrong with ordering the stuff here (unless you're balling on a budget)

Made right in front of you is this very cheesey $15 Mac and cheese. Good amount and very tasty.

This is a solid lunch spot. A bit pricy, but it's in a touristy section Boston and the portion itself was decent. I got the (small) cheeseburger mac and it was plenty of food. The cheese itself had a good flavor, though the meat was a bit bland. It was awesome how they put the ingredients in a pan and cooked it on the stove right in front of you!

So delicious, cheesy and sinful i Ordered small portion which is still quite alot for just myself. I guess if I hadn't eaten all day I could finish it, but just knowing how its made and calories kinda keeps me in check. But, if you don't care about all that, this is really good, go for it! First time we got the seafood which had imitation crab, lobster and shrimp. That was good with some added hot sauce, we had to wait 8 mins that time and I'm not sure why because the second time we'd been there, we got the Italian which has pesto and tomatoes, we stayed and watched it being cooked, and it was really fast. Its made to order and so its really hot when you get it, and stays warm enough for the time to get back to the hotel. Both times we took it away because it was dinner and we wanted to relax and eat. Definitely check it out if you love Mac and cheese. I don't think you'll be disappointed

Sometimes, you just can't beat a comforting bowl of Mac and cheese. My husband and I stopped in on our last day in Boston and ordered the classic American Mac to share. They cook your order right in front of you and aren't skimpy on the noodles. The sauce was balanced well, being creamy but not overwhelmingly cheesy. Overall, really enjoyed it for a quick lunch. Service was fast and personable - we took it outside to enjoy as the vibe indoors was a little chaotic!

This is the best place to eat in the Quincey market, hands down. The food is incredible and made-to-order fresh in front of you. Pictured here is the plain mac, but I've had both the grilled chicken Mac and the Lobster Mac and they're both fantastic with tender, high quality protein. This place is a must-eat for me on a trip to Boston. The service is also pretty quick given that food is made-to-order.

We got the lobster melt and pesto. Lobster is not fresh. Everything is mediocre. Also did not have tomato soup - how do you not have tomato soup?

So slow and the food is not worth it! They had a huge backlog of people waiting for their food with many empty burners. It seems like they want to artificially have a line. The food is also not good - the Mac n cheese was not special or worth the wait

Best Mac and cheese. I'm from LA and I crave it all the time. There is nothing as tasty as mmMac and Cheese!

Yummy!! My classic American Mac and cheese came out quickly and hot. They cook it right in front of you at the kiosk. Great noodle to cheese ratio. Employees were friendly and quick to get my order, line moved fast. I loved this Mac and cheese and would be happy to come back to get some more!!

This is a nice place for mac and cheese lovers. They have a variety of offering to customize your mac. Reasonably priced for the portion size and the service was quick. Not a bad bite.

They had a waiter come over, and we asked for what we wanted, and the waiter made it seem like we could not afford it. (It was about steamed lobsters). The hostess said th were no availability at the tables we could sit at the bar. We went to sit at the bar, and this party of 5 came over, and they tried everything to move us from the bar, by there actions and there level of disrespect, and it was excepted. I got up from the bar, and I went to the manager, who said his name was Jack. He seemed like he cared, but for us. I felt we was judged from the door. We were a minority couple, maybe that was not what they wanted to see I'm not sure. The money was not the issue, it was the principal. It was not about a 25 dollar discount, on a over 200 bill. There was VIP, that cane in, and he was on top of my back. While we finally got a table. It was just to much. It was very unexceptable. We will never go back.

Safe to say, I was more than happy to be included in this one. SERVICE: For a busy Thursday night with a party of around 15, the staff handled things impressively well. Food came out in a timely manner, no confusion, no chaos. They were friendly, attentive, and actually knew the menu, offering solid recommendations without overcomplicating it. Managing a group that size is not easy, and they made it look smooth. AMBIANCE: This place leans more Boston bar energy than traditional fine dining, and that is part of the charm. It was packed, a little tight at times, but it felt alive. You are not coming here for quiet elegance, you are coming for the buzz, the movement, and that shared experience of a packed room enjoying great food together. FOOD: We went all in and ordered family-style, almost tapas style, sharing everything across the table. Squid ink pasta, black pasta, fried calamari, grilled octopus, dish after dish hitting the table. Everything was delicious, but what really stood out was the sauce. The broths, the richness, the depth of flavor, that is what stayed with me. I found myself talking about it mid-meal, and I was not the only one. At one point, people were practically trying to drink the sauce straight from the plate. That is when you know it is hitting on another level. You know you're doing a good job when you put much thought down to how you make your sauces and broths. I was impressed from both a top down and bottom up level of culinary experience. IMPRESSIONS: I need to come back here to on more sauces and broths.

Turns out, it's about what you can expect from this type of chain: good service, very pleasant ambiance...and thoroughly mediocre, overpriced food. Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of it came directly from Sysco. Previously I had tried the "Legal Seafoods Clam Chowder" sold at Costco, and found it to be very so-so compared to the "Captain Parker's" version sold at Market Basket. I was hoping the in-restaurant version would be much better. Wrong. Probably the most appalling thing about the food here were the fries, which come with most of the dishes unless you specifically ask for a substitute. I was glad that I did, because when I tasted my friend's fries, they were just about the most dry, bland, doughy-like frozen fries you could imagine. Only thing you can do with fries like that is to oversalt the bejesus out of them, and drown them in ketchup. Best thing we (party of 4) had was the Steak Salad---but when the menu says "petit sirloin" you dang better believe they MEAN "petit," lol ... it was about 3-4 mouthfuls tops! Really more of an appetizer worth $15 at most, not the $28 normal entree pricing. Fish and chips were particularly dismal---the fish was tasteless, most likely frozen just like the horrible fries. I've had better fish and chips from humble diner type places like Mike's Roast Beef in Everett, for Chrissakes. Hell, even Friendly's Fish and Chips doesn't seem that bad in comparison, lol. Swordfish and trout were somewhat less bad, but also suffered from the avalanche of cardboard fries. Anyways, now I know: I wasn't missing anything all these years.

Stephanie and Anna completely exceeded every expectation. From the moment I sat at the bar, they were warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They walked me through appetizers on one visit, helped me decide on dessert another night, and everything I ordered was delicious. But what really stood out wasn't just the food -- it was the experience. They introduced me to other patrons, sparked great conversations, and created that rare feeling of genuine connection. Finding that kind of warmth and community while traveling for work isn't always easy, and it absolutely deserves to be recognized. I've now been three times. I typically rotate hotels when I'm in Boston just to try new places, but because of the consistently high-quality service -- not just at the hotel, but especially at the restaurant and bar -- I'll be prioritizing staying here moving forward. Stephanie and Anna go above and beyond, and it shows. Thank you both for the hospitality. I'll definitely be back.
