The screen was filthy (they just opened as a reminder) we couldn't tell what was in the 'combo' and then when we were going to order the boneless chicken wings, as they were gluten free when we ordered them years ago, I asked one of the women in the kitchen to confirm. She said no, I don't think so. And walked away without any further guidance for what I might be able to eat on their menu. It's not a preference, it's a dietary restriction - so we walked out from there. They clearly had no interest in helping me or our business. A real disappointment after driving 30 minutes out of our way to try and enjoy it.

BEWARE I (female) came here on 4/10/2023 for dinner. As we were being seated, a male customer was leaving and held his phone upright directly at me, as if taking photos, before quickly exiting the restaurant. I immediately felt violated and brought this up with our waiter, who said he'd tell his colleague. His colleague was dismissive and aloof, and responded only with his claim that he could not do anything about it. To make matters worse, we were told this customer is a regular who patrons the restaurant at least weekly. My goal in relaying this incident was to alert the restaurant of such behavior from the customer and so they can have the information needed to keep their restaurant and other customers safe, ESPECIALLY if this suspicious customer is a known regular. I understand the restaurant staff are not law enforcement, and cannot take any legal action in response. I told the colleague of my intention, but there was no change in course of action from his side. Neither our first waiter and nor his colleague ever even TRIED to acknowledge my experience, nor did they make any effort to contact their manager or owner to hopefully better deal with the issue. Literally not even an ounce of concern was shown. Staff needs training to say the least, but beyond that, they need to develop some basic human decency and empathy. If you decide to visit this restaurant, please be vigilant. For reference - the guy who took photos was Asian male in his 20s, around 5'10", skinny, had hooded and monolid eyes, and short black hair. read more

So, I've been low-key addicted to ML Kitchen through Grubhub, making it my not-so-secret guilty pleasure. I feel like I'm the lone warrior on the Grubhub app... I'm not a massive Chinese food fan, but when a hangover hits, it's like, "Okay, Chinese food, you're up." And guess who always saves the day? Yep, ML Kitchen. This time, I didn't have the classic hangover excuse; I just had a serious hankering for their Chicken Lo Mein. So, I DoorDashed it - extra chicken, of course - and threw in a veggie roll for good measure. ML Kitchen's delivery game is always on point. The food arrives hot and ready to roll, even if I'm not nursing a hangover. The Chicken Lo Mein, though, oh boy, it still hit all the right spots. The chicken was tender AF, and that veggie roll? A crunchy, fresh delight. ML Kitchen is officially my go-to Chinese spot, especially when I'm not feeling my best. What seals the deal every time is that when the goods show up at my door, they're piping hot and fresh as can be. I ordered the chow mein and while it was flavorful and had a good mix of ingredients, it didn't stand out in any particular way. The portion size was also a little on the small side. The service at ML Kitchen was fine. Our server was friendly and efficient, but nothing particularly stood out about the service. The restaurant itself has a casual, counter-service atmosphere which was fine, but not particularly inviting. We LOVE ML Kitchen! We tried this place on a whim a few months ago, and the food exceeded all expectations! This is authentic, delicious Chinese food! We order ML Kitchen for delivery now at least twice a month. Our favorites: 1) Salt and Pepper Eggplant: savory, salty, spicy, crunchy, and perfect! 2) Salt and Pepper String Beans: your classic Chinese green beans that always hit the spot. 3) Soup dumplings: delicious Xiao Long Bao that was a wonderful unexpected surprise! 4) Singapore noodles: not greasy, lots of curry flavor, and lots of shrimp and pork! I was visiting Chicago for business and I found this gem. I read some of the reviews and tried their salt and pepper chicken wings and the reviews were right, it was soo good! I also got to try a new drink before they released it. It was their Matcha Lemonade, it was soo good! It was a great summer day too in their outside patio. I have ordered multiple times from this place through ubereats and have had mostly good experiences. One time I ordered general tso's and did not enjoy it but that is the one exception. Items I enjoy are the fried rice, orange chicken and shrimp wonton soup. Everything is always prepared well for delivery and arrives hot with napkins, utensils and sauces. It is a must order and the best Italian beef I've ever had. I also really love the crab rangoon's creaminess inside the rangoon with the sweet and sour dip. The orange chicken that uses real oranges was great. They even do a passion fruit Kool-Aid here and a yuzu lemonade. Just a great job on merging dishes together and still keeping its core authenticity. 3LP is a Chicago staple and I hope they open more locations outside of the city.

We asked for extra spicy, but it was pretty mild (again, surprising for a Sichuan restaurant). I love dried bean curd so ordered two dishes. They were also kind of bland. The fatty beef was pretty good, beef was tender. The fried rice was ok as well. But the main concern which will deter me from going back again is that we waited 45 min to get our to go order when it was a 'timed' order for a 2:30 PM pick up on a week day. With so many options in Chicago, not sure if I will repay a visit anytime soon.
