They've got the best chicken sandwich in all of Illinois, probably one of the best chicken sandwiches in all of the world. It's a salt and pepper style Chinese-style chicken sandwich: jalapenos, the cream sauce from your honey walnut shrimp, a dark meat fried chicken patty on a brioche bun. With jalapenos it is incredible. They've also got great Italian beef, which is a Chicago staple with a Chinese twist. They added the Szechuan flavor to give it that kick with the jardiniere. It is a must order and the best Italian beef I've ever had. I also really love the crab rangoon's creaminess inside the rangoon with the sweet and sour dip. The orange chicken that uses real oranges was great. They even do a passion fruit Kool-Aid here and a yuzu lemonade. 3 Little Pigs is definitely a hole in the wall spot, but the food is solid. I have been here twice now and overall it has been a good experience. On my first visit, I tried the char siu and was not too impressed. The sauce leaned a bit too sweet and did not really taste like traditional Chinese BBQ, so it fell a little flat for me. The hot pot sandwich, however, really stood out the first time I came. It comes with a hot pot style broth to dip the sandwich into, along with fries, and it was incredibly flavorful and comforting. On my second visit, the broth was not as flavorful, though the beef was still very tender and the bread was soft. It was still good, just missing that punch of flavor from the first time, so it might need a bit of quality control. During our second visit, I also tried the fried chicken sandwich, which also comes with fries, and it ended up being my favorite item on the menu. The coating was perfectly crunchy, the chicken was juicy, and there was a subtle salt and pepper flavor that I absolutely loved. The fries were really crispy and flavorful and paired perfectly with the sandwich. This is definitely a must get. The salt and pepper chicken sandwich was my favorite fried chicken sandwich. We were downtown and went out of our way to the Bridgeport location specifically to dine in and enjoy our food freshly made. Unfortunately, our experience was not good. The space looked tired and was dirty. We arrived right after they opened on Sunday. So it wasn't because they didn't have time to clean after customers. Tables were clearly not wiped down and the floor was sticky. It was disappointing. You order at the kiosk and wait for your food. We ordered a lot of food because it's been a while since we had their food. We each had salt & pepper chicken sandwiches which came with curly fries, crab rangoons and shrimp chips. The food was pipping hot. The chicken sandwich was large. The flavors were still good, but the chicken was dry and over-cooked at the edges. Almost as if it was re-fried to heat up. So disappointing. My daughter ended up ripping off the breading. We enjoyed the crab rangoons, there wasn't much crab, but it's the same with most places. The shrimp chips are homemade and very good. Don't save for later, they are best fresh and will go stale quickly. They used to come with the sandwich, but I understand why they don't anymore. They are worth the price, I highly recommend! First time at 3LP at Bridgeport location! Saw this place on TikTok and I'm glad I came in. The most popular items are their lemon pepper sandwich, bbq pork, and fried rice. We tried the bbq pork which was topped with a delicious house made glaze, the fried rice (mixed in bbq pork) and the fried teriyaki chicken. All came out hot and fresh. The inside is extremely small, so expect to have to take your food to-go, depending on how many diners they have at the time. If you do get to dine in, there's a few seats by the window and 2-3 large tables. I wish they had a location in the burbs, but it's somewhere I would drive to if I'm craving it. read more

The good, the bad, and the ugly. The good - The chicken pieces. Hot, crispy, fresh, and delicious. The bad - Everything else. Sides are complete non-starters. The salt and pepper crinkle cut fries are standard issue mid-grade frozen. That's not a big problem if they're properly cooked. These weren't. They were soggy and barely seasoned. The so-called Garlic Butter Rice was a misstep. The rice was dried out and slightly crunchy and the only butter this rice ever saw was if they were stacked next to each other on the back of a Sysco truck. All of this is especially off putting as we were the first customers of the day in the middle of the week. We disagreed on the signature Hot Pot Beef sandwich. Tasted by itself, the beef didn't have much flavor, nor did the jus provided on the side. All the taste came from the relatively small amount of giardinera on top and that flavor was HOT. Like blazingly hot to the exclusion of any other flavor. I couldn't be bothered to finish my half of the sandwich. My partner liked the beef but not enough to return for it. The ugly - The interior of the restaurant. Maybe it's a deliberate decor decision but the interior looks cheap and grimy. I might not mind so much if a truly meh lunch for 2 wasn't close to $40. There is very limited interaction with staff and their menu was cut back significantly. For $17 dollars, the char shiu pork was dry and didn't have much flavor outside of the sauce. The garlic rice tasted like really old unwashed rice with dried garlic bits on it. No garlic flavor at all. The only okay thing is the salt and pepper pork but it still was not the saving grace. I wish there were more modern fast American-Chinese food restaurants in Chicago. I recently had the chance to try 3LP after hearing so much about them on social media the last few years. However, the first time I went, I felt pretty disappointed with my meal, but decided to give them another chance. My first order consisted of: Crab Rangoon, Orange Chicken + BBQ Pork Combo with Pork Fried Rice, and the Salt and Pepper Chicken Sandwich. The crab rangoon was solid and ended up being the only thing I finished. Everything else was a bit of a let down. So many people hyped up the Salt and Pepper Chicken Sando, but I felt like it was rather bland. The piece of chicken on this sandwich is huge -- which is nice and well cooked -- but having just salt and pepper seasoning on a huge, thick piece of chicken just got boring really quick. The orange chicken plate entree didn't seem to take with the sauce they used. It felt like fried chicken pieces sitting on top of sauce. I didn't have that sticky, saucy texture that I was looking for and also didn't hit the spot sauce wise. The bbq pork was solid, but not out of this world. Let's be honest, BBQ Pork from any of the Chinese BBQ spots in Chinatown are already all very good. I feel like the ceiling is low, and the floor is already high for Char Siu. And finally, I felt like the Pork fried rice was okay, but had way too many bean sprouts in it. The 2nd go around, I "strategically" used my knowledge and experienced shortcomings from the first time to give them another chance. Instead of Salt and Pepper Chicken Sando - I got the Spicy Chicken Sando Instead of the Pork Fried Rice - I got the 3LP Fried Rice Instead the Orange Chicken + BBQ Pork combo - I just got a straight up order of the BBQ Pork And then I also added on the burger just to try. Highly highly highly recommend the Spicy Chicken Sando. It saved this place for me and made me want to come back -- now I will be back it will be a must get everytime I am back. The burger was not bad, but I felt like the spicy Chinese mustard was overpowering the rest of the flavors. The 3LP fried rice was much more flavorful and enjoyable than the Pork fried rice (no bean sprouts, and also has Chinese sausage in it). I think there are still a lot of improvements to be made. I know their menu is still evolving, as they removed wraps from the menu a bit ago. The decor, cleanliness, and ambiance of this location is a bit of mess and organization is definitely needed. I think the there is a lot to grow off of, with lots of potential if a few tweaks are made. I really want to see this place succeed and think a Restaurant Manager may be a spot position to fill -- or reconsider if it is already filled. The au jus cup, was 1/2 full and had good flavor, but they didn't provide enough for the full sandwich. The crab rangoon, just aight, not the best in the city and not worth $10 at all. The egg fried rice was the ultimate disappointment, totally flavorLESS. I'm really sad because I was excited to try this place, but it was not it. Let me set the stage: a hopeful diner, a willing accomplice (my wife, who kindly waited in the car with the motor running), and a takeout order that would ultimately prove a masterclass in how not to run a restaurant. I arrived a few minutes early. The cheerful counter man assured me my order was "just finishing up," a comforting phrase that led me to naively believe the food was being cooked. Alas, this was the first of many delusions. A few moments later, a bag was handed over with the kind of nonchalance you'd expect from someone tossing scraps to a stray. "Thank you," I said, a sentiment that would soon age poorly. Five minutes later, we were home, the table set, anticipation brewing. And then--the reveal. Missing: one beef sandwich (their signature dish). What I did find was a collection of tepid, sad little parcels that looked as though they'd been left on the counter of despair since breakfast. To rub salt in the wound, the restaurant has no phone number, leaving me to scream into the void of Facebook and email. Unsurprisingly, no response came. Perhaps they were too busy botching someone else's evening. Now, the food. Oh, the food. Let's dissect this culinary crime scene, shall we? * Crab Rangoon: Warm (barely), limp, and inexplicably paired with barbecue sauce. Cold, sticky, and bearing a texture reminiscent of an elastic band. * Garlic String Beans: Overcooked to the point of surrender, seasoned with nothing but regret, and paired with--you guessed it--those cursed cold noodles. * Beef Sandwich: The pièce de résistance of absence. I paid for it; it did not appear. Much like their customer service. After 90 minutes of silence from the restaurantt, it became abundantly clear: they simply do not care. Whether this is due to apathy, incompetence, or sheer malicious intent is anyone's guess. What is certain is that 3 Little Pigs is less a restaurant and more a monument to mediocrity. My wife has been wanting to try this for awhile and we were finally able to go on a Friday night. The place was kinda small but luckily wasn't too busy at the time. We ordered the chicken sandwhich and fried rice. The sandwhich was pretty tasty. The rice was a little on the dry side. My wife, who follows the restaurant on Instagram left a message regarding her thoughts. Upon leaving, the owner himself showed up and made sure we left satisfied! He gave us a fresh batch of fried rice to go. The owner was very done to earth and really cares about his customers. My wife and I appreciated that as we don't see that very often these days!
