The worst! Walked in to have my velvet pants hemmed They stitched with the sewing machine (not hand sewn!) Totally ruining them And charged $20 Lost my son's suit after it had been chalked for alterations...finally located it and couldn't complete by promised date. Avoid!!!! read more

Oh my god, these women saved my life. I graduate tomorrow with my bachelors, after visiting 3 different local alteration places, they didn't want to do a simple cut that took these ladies 2 minutes. I was desperate and in need of help. The first seamstress quickly marked and cut a straight line and had me out the door before closing. I will definitely be coming here for all future alteration needs. read more

I have had many items altered by MJ. I have always been very happy with the outcome and their prices are fair. I would recommend without hesitation. read more

Don't let looks or location deceive you. Have used them several times. Excellent seamstresses!

Twice now they have been there for this our daughters when they needed some last minute alterations and they were counting on us to help out. Extremely grateful for MJ Alterations for coming in clutch for this Girl Dad! read more

High quality work and very reliable. Prices reasonable. Ladies speak limited English.

Had a couple of small alterations that needed to be done and they were prompt, friendly and professional! The work was flawless! Highly recommend read more

According to Yelp information this place is open on Saturday, until 12:00PM. I drove across town to have a jacket zipper replaced only to find it closed. I was finally able to find the shop open. A lady there repaired a zipper to a Harley Davidson jacket. She did a good job but used a cheap gold zipper. Since the jacket previous zipper was a heavy duty silver zipper Common sense would say replace it with a heavy duty silver zipper. Nope, replaced with a cheap gold zipper. read more

Lovely ladies that are working extremely hard to create and modify your garments in a timely manner. Affordable and convenient. They would've had five stars however, communication is sometimes a challenge and their Voicemail doesn't always work properly. However, I did communicate quite well through Facebook messenger. read more

I was able to use some of my Spanish skills and I felt totally comfortable leaving my Ted Baker pants for alterations. $12 is a great deal to me for the work they completed and I was as satisfied as a bride in her 3rd wedding dress (third times the charm)! They are located in a little strip mall and the Mexican restaurant at the end is always filled with patrons (note to self: self, we need to stop by). The ladies and been very friendly and pleasant. I watched them at work while I was waiting and they definitely have the skills and abilities to make your wardrobe fit better than OJ Simpson's glove! My only sad moment was the "Cash Only" sign. Stop by your bank before you come, but remember, this place isn't going to break your bank either. read more

Great place with competitive pricing, and price includes tax, as cash only. Had some shorts altered and everything was perfect. Will only go there! read more

Horrible work...have used multiple times hoping they'd get it right but always disappointed. Won't be back.

I love patronizing local small businesses - and this quaint tailoring shop is no exception. I had a cushion from one of my outdoor chairs. The end seams on the cushion were ripping out due to sun exposure - but the fabric still looked nice. All I could see were $$'s if I took it to a traditional Upolstery recovering shop ... so after reading reviews on Yelp - I brought it here. $8 later ... I have a repaired cushion that looks perfect. How wonderful! This is "my place" now to take anything that needs repairs. Easy, perfect and I love the women that work tirelessly at this shop. read more

I've come to MJ alterations for all my hemming and repair needs. I'm a bit short and I must hem every pair of pants I buy. I buy higher end jeans and it's important to me that they come out just right. Let me tell you the ladies at MJ alterations get it perfect every time! Their prices are fair and I've never had to have them redo anything. This is the only place I will come to. read more

I had a jacket tailored and I asked for a fast turnaround. I was very happy with the end result and I thought the price was reasonable even a little low. read more

Very efficient and reasonable price! A locals place so not in great area of town. I had an after five pant suit alterations done, fit perfectly. Also zipped up a pillow for me that seams had come undone. Best part was their were several people working she was able to repair while I waited on the pillow. read more

The ladies were very nice and did an amazing job with my alterations. Price is very reasonable. I will definitely be going back here. read more

Unless you're truly desperate and feeling very lucky. Don't come here. Quality is definitely low and noticeable at first glance. There's many clothing items tossed around everywhere it's actually comical. Save your clothes and time. #NO read more

Got a suite hemmed and, felt the work was shabby and overpriced. If it was double stitched and altered on top of hemming I'd understand the price. Fond another location. read more

I took in three pair of jeans to be hemmed and I picked them up and they had one single stitch on the bottom. I had asked them to just match up the hemming at the bottom and if you've ever had a pair of jeans, you know it's double stitched. If you're an alteration business, I would think this would be alterations 101. So if you are getting jeans hemmed and you want the bottom to look like the jeans you purchased you better say something to them and make it very clear. read more

My sewing machine broke and I needed to finish up some curtains so brought them here and the ladies did a great job. Quick too! I would definetly come here again. read more

Took in 6 vest and all 6 were cut straight instead of with the angles vest are supposed to have the lady told me that the lady who took the measurements said "it was ok to cut them straight" I didn't say that. Then when I got home I found out that 4 of the vest are 1/2 inch longer on one side than the other. Completely butchered my clothes. I can't even donate them now they they are uneven AND AFTER ALL THAT they tried to increase their prices to almost double. read more

Needed alterations for an after five outfit, the ladies did a great job. With a very reasonable price. Highly recommend, not in the nicest area of Indio, but was done very quickly and exactly what I needed to get done. I brought in a rip to be resown in a pillow and the kind lady graciously repaired as I waited a minute or two. read more

Good quality alterations at a reasonable price. Not in the best shopping center in Indio but if you can find it, you'll be happy you did.

It definitely has the the nostalgic feel of a mom and pop shop in mexico. The people are warm, smiling, focused on their work, know what they are doing and do it well. Very skilled and reasonably priced, quick turnaround. read more

Love this place they have excellent prices and if you go straight here you cut out the middle man prices because the cleaners take my clothes here to get altered. read more

Great customer service! Good work, fast turnaround, and reasonable prices. No need to say more.

One of my friends referred me to MJ's. I brought my boyfriend's shirt here and they did such an awesome job! The shirt was one of those extra long "jersey" t-shirts, which looked like a dress on him (my boyfriend is 5'11). I needed the shirt length to be altered and wanted the scoop to be removed, so that it would look like a regular t-shirt. He thought the shirt looked great and I didn't see any flaws in the stitches upon inspection. They even repositioned the tag that was on the front of the shirt. Modest price for great work! read more

I took my wedding dress to get alternations here and I'm so happy with the results. She listened to what I wanted fixed and ended up doing a great job on my wedding dress. The price she gave me was very fair and affordable. I will defiantly be back and recommend friends and family about this business. read more

I had a jacket that was way too long and needed it shortened. I went to about 4 other alteration shops and they all told me that due to the elastic band on the bottom and the jacket having a zipper, that they could not do it unless they could completely get rid of the zipper and band. I went to MJs alterations and they told me that the band and zipper was no issue at all and the cost they quoted me was about half what the others quoted. I went to go pick up my jacket the following week and the alterations were so well done and professional. My new favorite jacket is now at a perfect length at such an affordable cost. read more
