I'm new to the area. I called ahead of time to get pricing on how much it would be to hem/shorten a pair of pants. I was told between $18-$20. I had 4 pairs of pants. When I picked them up I was charged $144.00. I was so surprised and said I was quoted $20 per pair. I got no response, just stared at. Then , to make matters worse, I went to pay with my credit card and she wanted to charge me a $25 transaction fee for using a credit card. She asked me to go to the bank and get cash. I am completely shocked this business is taking advantage of their customers. Again, I'm new to the area and will most definitely not be going back. 1. They quoted a price, then charged way over the amount they stated. 2. They tried to charge a $25 fee to use a credit card because they only want you to pay by cash or check. They need to advertise this when you submit your order. 3. What type of business doesn't let you pay by credit card? Beware of this business. Very sad. read more

Amazing Service and very quick, my dress came in 3 days before prom and I was scrambling to find a tailor because the back was too small. My wife didn't feel welcomed at all during her visit. She dropped off a dress on Friday and was told it would be ready for pickup the following Tuesday at a specific time. When she showed up, she was told to come back in two hours--completely disregarding what she was originally told. She had to drive 30 minutes each way, which was a frustrating waste of time. The lack of communication and professionalism was really disappointing. I could not believe the waiting and constant calling I had to do for my dresses. They kept forgetting to do my dresses and every time I called they said "oh it's not ready, come back at this date" and would go back when they said. They were not ready every time they said it would be. AND they didn't listen to my requests the 1st-2nd time, I had to tell them what I wanted over and over again. The service at Lily's is unmatched! I brought a dress to be hemmed for length and have the bust taken in, and I was pressed for time (needed to have it done in less than a week). They were so kind and told me they could have it done in two days, even faster than I expected! They quoted the service around $75 when asked. When I went to pick up my dress, it was beautiful. The cost ended up at $85 total, and I had only brought $80 in cash with me. I was mortified and said I could pay with card or go to an ATM, but the owner assured me it was alright and wished me a happy new year instead. I brought in four pieces to be altered, two rather complicated (basically a re-build of a summer dress and my Dodgers shirt), and am so pleased! Excellent work, done when they promised it by, and very reasonably priced. My favorite piece is a great women's fitted Dodger top that I had cut slits (crooked) in tops and bottoms of the sleeves that were too tight, and they looked ridiculous. They repaired those slits and added Dodger blue stretchy material (matches exactly!) in a V down each side to expand the shirt. Can't even tell, they're that good. Never again will I try to alter my own clothes now that I've found my alteration shop! a read more

I'm surprised to see bad ratings for this business. My daughter had two dresses she needed altered for an upcoming wedding. We explained our deadline and were told it would be no problem. Two days later, I realized I had forgotten another pair of my pants needed shortening - I brought them in and asked if she could also do them ... for the next day! She kindly offered to have all three items done by the next afternoon. As promised, all three were perfectly finished the following afternoon. All together, less than $50! I would never do business with lily's again and here's why. First when I brought in 4 pair of jeans to be shortened she told me $19/ ea. When she realized they were jeans she told me $20/ ea. Next she asked me if I wanted them to be hemmed with the bottom finished? I said sure and was told that now it's $25 a pair. I was told they would be ready in a week on tue. On fri she called me and said come in mon to pick them up. So I came in mon at 11:30 and they were not ready. I was told to come back later. I did, and they were still not ready. She told me she would finish and bring them by my house later that evening. I agreed. She came by with the 4 pair of jeans rolled up in a bag. What I didn't realize untill the next day, was that she only did 3 pair. By rolling them up in a bag and not telling me she only did 3, I felt on top of everything else she was dishonest. read more

I had a somewhat frustrating but ultimately good experience here getting a zipper replaced on a pair of jeans. Spoiler alert: the jeans got fixed and turned out great. But I'll go ahead and tell you the story because that's what I'm here for. I dropped them off and Lily quoted me $18 and said they'd be ready in two weeks. I was going to be on vacation in two weeks so I said no rush. "Even better," she said, "we'll call and leave a message when they're ready. Three weeks later I'm back from vacation (in Aruba where not once did I wear jeans...highly recommended activity) and realized I never got a call. I called them, was promised a call back in 10 minutes. Nothing. Called the next day - no answer, voicemail full. Next day I stopped by and they were closed (even within the revised Covid hours). Tried calling again the next day and was promised a call back in 15 - nothing. So I decided to go in again. Handed him (presumably Lily's husband; if so this family business gets extra points) my ticket and he started looking. It seemed he didn't know what he was looking for or where it might be. I noticed they were speaking Spanish to each other so I seized the opportunity to practice my Duolingo and offer some guidance. "Pantalones rojos" (I couldn't recall the word for "jeans" and Duolingo hasn't covered "tie-dye" yet, the nerve!). I then explained, in Spanish, how long ago I'd dropped them off and that I'd recently called. And then -- like magic! but more likely because my 598-day streak was finally paying off -- he found them! And then he asked me what price I'd been told ($18), said it was normally $36 (for a zipper replacement?!) but ok, $18. This convo took place entirely in Spanish. I took 3 pairs of jeans to have pockets sewn up and 3 golf pants to have hemmed. $115 later the white brand new golf pants came back with permanent stains on the front pant leg and another pair that was hemmed one leg was 2" longer than the other! SERIOUSLY I would NEVER go back. It's filthy and when I tried to call multiple times no one answers the phone and no voicemail set up. I love these ladies. I believe it's a mom and her two daughters running the show. I brought in a suit, pants and black jeans. I asked for them back before my trip to Vegas 3 days later. They hit the deadline, and they did a great job. To be honest I felt so comfortable there, I just sat there for an hour talking with the family and the other patrons that came into shop. I have now gone there 3 different times during business hours to pick up my son's jiu jitsu jacket and the store has been closed. This is during business hours ! This is so upsetting . Came here because I needed a dress hemmed about 6 inches because it was too long . I've gotten alterations done at different cleaners in town before and it's usually between 40 to 60 dol. So I thought ok why not take it to this place since that's all they do is alterations . When I asked the gentleman how much it was going to be he kept not answering the question and l said he didn't know . I was like ok I started laughing and said as long as it's not more than the dress it self . The day he promised to have it ready I come and they say oh we're busy it's not ready yet . Again I asked how much it was going to be and they said well tell you when you come pick it up . I didn't think much of it . I just thought to myself she's probably really busy . No big deal . I was still being patient came 2 days later to pick it up and they charge me 88 dollars . Honestly it's not the fact that it was this much . Because they're entitled to charge what they want. It's the fact that now looking back it feels like they were being deceitful and dishonest the entire time. I would definitely not recommend this place . Not coming here again read more
