This is the small shop I recommended inside Shops of the Desert. I had two favorite old pieces I did not wish to discard and they did a beautiful, invisible repair where my elbows had worn through the sleeves. Each item is cherished and now having them back in my wardrobe, I am going to continue to recommend them. This week I am taking an antique quilt for repair where ink was spilled. I have watched people in for fittings, in beautiful formalwear. I called them and confirmed the price to hem a pair of pants. I dropped the pants off and confirmed the price again with them. He said I could pick it up later that day. When I went to collect the pants he said he only accepts cash. I gave him a $20 and he did not give me the correct change back. When I stated that, he then said it would cost more because I had a same day pick up, even though he never mentioned that earlier. It felt very shady and seemed like he was trying to up charge me for no reason. Very unprofessional to take more money then agreed from a customer and not say anything at first. My father presented me with and silk and wool coat from our very special trip to Turkey. I took my coat to be altered at the store..two and a half month later, and numerous trip to the store, I still don't have my coat back. Wednesday, I am told to come back Sunday. Sunday I am told "I was sick and didn't get it done" few weeks later, "oh, I have it forgot it home ? But, it is a big job, come back next week. I go their the following week, "I didn't think you needed it right away" . But, for sure, I will have it Monday, I phoned Monday late afternoon so that I don't waste another trip, " come 6:30 in the evening, it is at home." My husband and I were going to a wedding out of state and he needed his new suit jacket tailored. We totally procrastinated and needed it done in 3 days, oops! I remembered this place that has been in the Palm Desert mall forever, so we brought it there to see what he can do. My husband tried the jacket on, and the owner quietly but efficiently started pinning and going to work to achieve a slim fit look. I have a wedding to go to in June. I brought in my dress to have shortened quite a bit. It took just over a week, and I'm pleased with the results. The hem is nicely double sewn so it won't unravel. Same day service. I told him I needed my pants hemmed for an evening event and he said come back in an hour. Much gratitude.

I took two sweaters there to be rewoven. First: They only take cash up front. You cannot use credit cards or pay when the job is done. Second: I left the sweaters there for a long time without picking them up. Without calling me, they took the sweaters home to storage. My phone number was on the receipt. They could have called. Third: When I went out there to get them, I was yelled at for taking so long to come. I was told that they would bring them back to the store. Fourth: When I went out to get them, the employee..not the owner..yelled at me again and told me that I was "lucky" they still had them, even though they had my number. FIFTH AND WORSE: One of the two sweaters was a cashmere Prada sweater. When I pulled it out of the bag it looked like Swiss cheese: there were holes all over it...only about an inch apart. Had some jeans altered here. I needed the legs to be shortened because I've got stumpy legs. It was done in the same day so I could take them home right away. the interesting thing was the tailor kept the frayed bottoms that came with the jeans I bought. So instead of getting a lame new hem, I got the distressed look that was intended with the jeans. Be sure to ask for that if you want it. The place isn't snazzy, but the tailor is a super nice older Vietnamese guy. Prices are pretty cheap for the area. read more

Love this place. Had an emergency and they were able to do same day major alterations for me for a black tie event even taking in around the bust and waist. He was so friendly so helpful and reasonably priced. I paid 70 dollars in Alts and gave him 80 b I was so impressed he got it done. I figured 70 bucks was nothing compared to the cost of buying a new dress. The final product was flawless. Will come here now going forward for all alts. Not just emergencies. Lol read more

They lost my dress shirt. Ruined three pair of jeans. Disorganized. First and last time. Would highly NOT recommend.

I had a dress bought from China, hand built with my measurements which fit, but not in a figure flattering way. The shoulders kept falling off, but with large upper arms I couldn't afford to lose any of the upper arm diameter. The zipper kept getting stuck in the lining. All I had to do was slip the dress on and the thin little Asian man with a winning smile knew EXACTLY what I wanted. I was then told the dress would be ready for pickup in 2 days! When I told the tailor I would come back in a week, he was caught off guard. I am sure most of his customers want it "yesterday". A week later my husbands suit being picked up at Men's Wearhouse (who's only job is altering men's suits) was messed up, but my dress, my dress was PERFECT! And the price? I expected (and was willing) to pay twice what Quick Fit charged me! read more

Discovered my new suit had creases/wrinkles running to top button, tugging it over to far. Seemed like button needed to be repositioned by a fraction of an inch. Tailors said suit needed to altered also. $50, which seemed a tad high. Told me it would be ready following Thursday. A full week. I returned for the suit on Thursday, 7 days later, and was told it wasn't ready on day promised! "Work going slow". I returned the next day, tried on suit jacket. And IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, nothing was fixed. When I pointed it out they became immediately argumentative about how many seams they'd undone, etc and started pointing out how well the OTHER side of the suit hung, WHICH WAS NEVER A PROBLEM. (They may have actually worked on wrong side.) They finally agreed to fix the suit. I have to go back for the jacket now for a THIRD time. This time, it looks better, but still not perfect. Today took the suit to the dry cleaners and discovered that the bottom seam on the jacket was still torn apart and had NOT BEEN STITCHED BACK TOGETHER! All this after returning to their shop three damn times. Had the dry cleaners finish the repair as it is just not worth dealing with these two guys again. In summary, missed deadlines, bad work, uncompleted work - and rude and argumentative about it. You are warned. read more

I bought a pant and took in to be hemmed as it was long. I was very upset when the weekend came, and I put my pant on and it was to short. I could not believe it, as he measured the pant when I put it on, to see where to hem it. Also he was expensive,and now with a pant that I can't use, wasted my money. I've been using Danny for years. He does really good work getting my clothes properly tailored. Only reason I'm giving this place a 4 is because sometimes he gets really busy and you may have to call in or actually go in to see if your clothes are ready. I went to pick uo my dress at this establishment and my expensive dress was on the floor being stepped on and dragged. I said to him is that my dress on the floor? and he just smiled at me, I payed 35 dollars for my dress that was stepped on and had shoe marks he didn't even offer to dry clean it or anything. I was so upset but I payed the money and I would never go back or recommend this place to anybody. read more
