Hello. I was on vacation and found myself needing two formal dresses altered at the last minute. These weren't simple alterations either--both dresses were covered in rhinestones and hand-sewn pearls and were two sizes too big. Gume had to remove zippers, carefully take off rhinestones and pearls by hand, resize the dresses, and then put everything back together perfectly. It was an enormous amount of detailed work, and somehow she completed it all in just three days! The quality of her work is absolutely incredible. My dresses fit beautifully, and you would never know how much had to be altered. Beyond her talent, Gume is one of the kindest, friendliest, and most honest people I've met. Her prices were more than fair, especially considering the amount of labor and skill involved. I am beyond grateful for her help and would recommend her 1,000 times over. Don't ever let the lack of a zipper stop you from buying a pullover hoodie. I've taken several pullover hoodies to Gume and they always do a great job putting in a zipper. I've never asked for a particular color or type of zipper and they always pick the perfect one to use. what a monumental waste of time. Not only did I have to drive there 2 times with a simple project, nothing was done and nobody called for #(&%(@& 3 weeks. The place is colossally unorganized, nobody writes things down in any language, and while I hope them great success it will be with my endorsement or comment to anyone favorable. Just wanted to mention that when you bring your alterations and especially tailored items to Gume, you need to make sure that you don't overwhelm her with too much work. She is essentially a one woman show and she does have other sewers/seamstresses who help her with the workload but these ladies have varying levels of skill and the most complicated of repairs or tailoring needs to go to Gume and that's it. Shorting pant legs or doing a slight tuck in the waist is something most of these sewers CAN do and will do... but if you need to change every seam on your blazer... you better see Gume. read more

We went to them to have a new jacket and a new pair of pants altered. They made a complete mess of the jacket, so we took it back for a second try. The second time it was better but still not very good. When I put on the pants they were almost up to my ankles. We went to an event looking like we had purchased clothes at a second hand store. The person who does the sewing seems to be very competent but the person who marks them is not. We will never go to them again and we strongly recommend that you do not go to them for the tailoring of men's clothing. read more

Really appreciate the job which Gume did on the gown for my son's wedding. I had asked people on the NextDoor App who they recommended for a difficult alteration job, after some local tailors told me that they couldn't do the alterations on my gown, because it was hand beaded and too difficult. Someone recommended Gume. I took my dress in, and she worked very hard to do a beautiful job. It took a couple of fittings, but she kept her appointments on schedule, and worked on it until it was absolutely perfect. I stumbled on to her shop (Gume) and figured I would take a chance. I required an extra pocket added to the right leg of my slacks. First time it went well, really well, I was pleased with their work. I returned with two brand new pairs of slacks for the same alterations and the workmanship couldn't have been any further from the first attempt. Whomever did the actual work/alteration could not have had any experience in the field. A patch pocket was sewn on over the existing pocket, the addition was 1/3 the size agreed upon (to accommodate a cell phone) and stuck out like a sore thumb - making the pants totally unusable. I returned the clothes and was told that the mistake could (and would) be rectified. Gume actually giggled at the poor work of the earlier seamstress and rewrote the order. I returned as agreed to pickup my wares but they were not finished, not once but three times. I will give Gume credit, she offered to hand deliver the clothes to my home to make up for the bad timing. Regrettably, the two pants of pants are still wrong and unusable as tailored. Def recommend this place! When you walk in don't stop right at the door, because that is the shoe repair. I'm guessing their share the place. It is convenient if you need your shoe repair. Anyways, I needed a dress repair and she was quick to know what needed to get done. It was nice of her to ask when I needed it by, but I def wanted her to take lots of time with it since it was a dress for my engagement pics. It took about a week and boy did she delivered. Had a last minute tailoring needed on my pants and brought them into Gume to make them more fitted through the legs, and within 1 day she had them done, quality work and for only $18. She didnt seem thrilled with the turnaround time (or maybe just saw it coming when I walked in haha) but the work was done quickly, done well and for a reasonable price.
