Been hitting up Miyagi since 2013, and it still feels like home the moment the aunty (the owner) and uncle say hi. Sushi's reliably solid, and while other spots keep jacking up prices, Miyagi's still pretty wallet‑friendly. Just remember: it's a tiny, family‑run joint in McLean, so don't roll in expecting white‑tablecloth vibes or lightning‑fast service--there are only two folks out front (the old aunty and uncle) and two behind the sushi bar. I do miss the old sushi chef who always sent us off with a thank‑you. Also, RIP to the free salad and orange slices, but hey, costs are wild these days, so I get it.

Great little sushi place in the heart of McLean. Super cozy vibes, sushi is great, no issues with the quality or taste of the food. I always get the Yaki Maki roll which is cooked and it's really yummy. Their udon is pipping hot and great on a cold winter night. The staff is super nice, they are a smaller group but very homey vibe.

About a 2-2.5: It's been a while since I've been to Miyagi; because I was in the area, I've decided to try them out for lunch. I ordered the Sushi & Sashimi Combo, under their lunch specials - this came with tuna, salmon, shrimp nigiri (it also stated 'crab', but this was not included); tuna, salmon, white fish, and octopus sashimi, and 3 pieces of California roll. The nigiri was fine, but the rice wasn't prepared well in which it just fell apart easily. The sashimi could have been more fresh; the octopus had a fishy smell to it, which was pretty unappetizing. The California roll was okay, but again, the rice wasn't prepared well that it fell apart easily. Miso soup was served with, which was piping hot and a great way to start off the meal. You also are asked if you want low-sodium or regular soy sauce, which I thought was a nice touch. Service was friendly, but a little absent-minded; I had to request water. Note that the restaurant doesn't have a website, so the menu and the prices does not reflect the current pricing you'll be paying (about a 40% mark-up). I felt you're not really getting the value for the meal. Plenty of free parking in the area. +not-so-fresh sashimi +friendly service

Eel nigiri and spicy eel and tuna roll!!

This was my first time having the Spicy Eel And Tuna Roll but I loved it and will definitely order again! The eel nigiri is amazing, everyone in my family LOVES it. I would suggest starting with 2 orders (as shown in the pic) as you will definitely want more! The waiter is an older man and woman who are so sweet! They are always bringing around water when we need, offering suggestions, and being overall super nice. I def recommend to come here with family, friends, or by yourself!!!

Better remember what you ordered and how much it cost because the bill is not itemized.

Disappointing food in our first visit to Miyagi. Sushi was watery, like it has not been stored properly. The spicy salmon was little bits instead of big chunks. The chicken teriyaki was over cooked little pieces (the accompanying bit of broccoli and carrots were good, but ice cold). Service was ok. Lastly, you had better remember what you ordered and how much it cost because the bill is not itemized!

Sushi and Sashimi Platter

I found this place a bit too late after living in Mclean for seven years and being within walking distance to this shop. Pretty sure it was owned or at least operated by Korean Americans, but the food quality is on spot. I think their party platters, especially the Sushi and Sashimi platter for $160 might be the best value in town, with all legit Nigiris, Sashimi pieces and a good variety of rolls as well, more than enough for a family of four.

We ordered several dishes to share, including the Chawanmushi, Seafood Sunomono Salad, Miso Salmon, Sashimi Combo, Super Dragon Roll, and Rainbow Roll. Everything was beautifully prepared, but the Sashimi Combo and Super Dragon Roll were the highlights of our meal! Chawanmushi: This traditional Japanese steamed egg custard featured crab meat and enoki mushrooms. I especially loved its delicate, silky-smooth texture. Seafood Sunomono Salad: Unlike the typical Sunomono salads I've had elsewhere, Cafe Ile's version featured an assortment of seafood, including salmon, tuna, crab, and octopus. It was a nice twist on a classic Japanese dish! Miso Salmon: Miso-marinated salmon served over a bed of cauliflower purée. A lovely combination of flavors! Sashimi Combo: One of my absolute favorites of the evening! The chef's assortment featured an impressive selection of seafood, including monkfish liver, herring, various types and grades of tuna, salmon, scallops, and more. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and I especially appreciated the flavorful takikomi gohan served alongside the sashimi. Super Dragon Roll: Another standout! This roll featured shrimp tempura topped with marinated, cooked eel and alternating red, yellow, and green masago. The combination of ingredients made this one of my favorite rolls of the evening. Rainbow Roll: A classic California roll topped with tuna, salmon, and avocado. A great choice for anyone who enjoys a variety of fish in one roll! Overall, we had a fantastic dining experience at Cafe Ile! I appreciated the variety of traditional Japanese dishes, the freshness of the seafood, and the thoughtful presentation of each dish. The Sashimi Combo alone makes me want to return! We're already looking forward to our next visit, especially to experience their omakase! At the time of our visit, omakase was offered Monday through Thursday at 5:30 PM and required advance reservations. Highly recommend Cafe Ile for anyone looking for quality Japanese cuisine and fresh sashimi in McLean!

This is hands down the best sushi I have ever had!!…read more Lots of homemade items. They make their own soy sauce and ponzu sauce. Rumor has it that they make their own wasabi. What a pleasant surprise to have fresh sliced ginger rather than pink jarred ginger with all the preservatives. The Food was absolutely AMAZING! It was very fresh! The PRESENTATION was AMAZING! I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again. When we first arrived we were brought a bowl of seaweed salad and freshly steamed edamame to share at the table. We also enjoyed a small bowl of corn soup. My friend and I shared the Salmon Carpaccio appetizer. We both had a Tysons Combo. I had the yellowtail and my friend had the salmon. The yummy house-made soy saw was not as salty as a traditional processed soy sauce. We chose Cafe île, since it was near our hotel in Tysons before our trek home to the valley. We arrived at a very strange time. It was 3 pm on a Sunday over Labor Day weekend. The bathrooms were clean so I am assuming the kitchen is too. The restaurant itself had piles of crumbs around. It was quite dirty. Hopefully they were in the middle of sweeping and cleaning up the dining room. We can't wait to come back!!
