Honestly, this place is really good! The photos seemed promising so we decided to give it a try and were pleasantly surprised! They have outdoor seating as well. The shrimp satay were delicious especially with the brown sweet sauce it came with. Both our drinks were super sweet but I liked it that way. The Thai iced coffee had a nice chocolate flavor to it too. The pad Thai was perfectly sweet and came with a lot of large shrimp. The panang curry was delicious too! We did have to order an extra side of rice with it because there was too little rice but so delicious regardless!

The last time that I had such authentic Thai cuisine was in Thailand! I was absolutely impressed by the quality of the ingredients. Service was great! The ambience, however, left me puzzled. Instead of image of Thailand, there were posters that did not make sense. Otherwise a great experience and fabulous food.

Decent neighborhood Thai place. I've been here several times before (even pre-pandemic), but I think the food quality has declined a bit since and prices have increased (story of most restaurants post pandemic, I suppose). It's a cozy spot with friendly staff - if anything, it's more of a "go and support the local business." The food presentation is always great too - see pictures below.

I'm always down to eating Thai food and trying next places - this was my first time here. All the food we ordered tasted delicious but the food did take a while to come out (we did come for a later dinner though). I wish the portion sizes were a bit bigger; if we didn't order a few appetizers, I probably would not have been full with just an entree.

Dropped in on a whim after work, ordered the stir-fry veggies, no rice or meat (see photo). The food was tasty but the portion size, small. For $13 I expected a little more. The facility was clean and COVID friendly. The service was cordial. The menu offered a little something for everyone. Would definitely try again.

I pass this place almost every day and finally stopped to try it last week, and I'm glad I did! I had the crispy basil beef and the spicy calamari. Bottom line up front: this was the best calamari I have EVER had. I've had tons and tons of calamari, and nothing even comes close. The spice level, the crispness, and the portion sizes were all *chef's kiss.* I also really enjoyed my Thai iced tea and crispy basil beef. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the beef was pretty salty, but still delicious. They were also very responsive and the service was super quick, especially for calling at 5 PM on a Friday. This will definitely be my new go-to Thai spot.

This is a restaurant serving the classic Thai dishes. I think there's room for improvement. Regardless, this is worth a try if you enjoy Thai. Food: Pad Thai - 3.5/5 - bland lacked both sweetness and sour tartiness bean sprouts and a slice of lemon which are commonly seen in other Thai restaurants are not offered on the side here Crispy basil chicken - 3.5/5 - chicken tasted quite dry on the inside Crispy basil beef - 5/5 - very delicious; I enjoyed this a lot Pad see ew - 5/5 - classic, delicious taste Thai iced tea - 5/5 Ambience: Small, cozy, comfortable with modern contemporary-traditional Thai decor Service: Very friendly and attentive staff

Now, the restaurant itself is deceptively unassuming. It's tucked inside a strip center behind a bank and next to two other (well rated apparently) restaurants with only a handful of seats, both indoors and outside. DO NOT let the appearance deter you from sitting dow and enjoying what will be an unbelieveanly good meal . We kept it simple - we started with the special fish dumplings (fish based dumpling around a pork/mushroom filling), the Yum Woon Sen and their house Drunken Shanghai noodles. My wife asked for mild, and j asked for medium on the spice levels The flavours were simply divine. The portions were perfectly sized in this era of gigantosaurus dishes and the service was helpful and friendly. The only possible negative comment was that my medium spicy was leaning toward the mild (ok - it was actually mild) side of the spectrum. That's certainly an issue that can be overcome - and is always better than falling on the other end of that spice spectrum where you risk having your face melt during the meal. We will definitely be back - and cannot wait to explore more of the menu!

It leans toward Northern Thai regional cuisine, bringing a more complex and adventurous flavor profile than the familiar dishes we usually find around the DC area. Considering McLean's generally conservative, affluent crowd, this restaurant is a refreshing kick of bold flavors. The space itself is modern, spacious, and spotless. The staff were attentive throughout the meal, and the presentation of each dish was thoughtful and appealing. They also offer a nice selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. We started with the curry puffs, made with vegetables instead of chicken. They were delicious--small in size but packed with flavor, balancing sweet, savory, and just a touch of heat. The green mango salad was crisp, fresh, lightly spiced, and wonderfully summery. For my entrée, I had the vegetable sukiyaki with thin rice noodles. It was well seasoned, flavorful without being overwhelming, and hearty enough to be a satisfying meal. Overall, Sorn Thai offers a refreshing take on Thai cuisine with regional dishes that stand out from the usual fare. If you're in McLean and want to experience something a little different, this restaurant is definitely worth trying.

Sat on higher chairs (given option for lower chairs/table or higher). The place was very busy for a Sunday evening. We waited almost 5 minutes before our server came by. I was counting down the seconds til we were going to leave. We ordered the Thai chicken fried rice & Chicken Drunken Noodle as usual to sample if this place is legit in our eyes & mouths. After 8 minutes, our food came out hot in large flat bottomed bowls. The portions seemed reasonable. The chicken fried rice had several pieces of white meat chicken, scrambled eggs & nice assortment of veggies. The smell & taste test passed with good amount of wok hei in every bite. My son finished 99% of it. He gave it a 10! My medium spicy chicken drunken noodles had a good amount of heat and very good portion. The Thai flavors of hot, sweet & salty were all there. Ordered the spice tray for more heat & added vinegar-chili for that sour kick to cut through the rich flavors of the noodles. Only problem was that some of the chicken pieces were overcooked and hard & plastic-like. Not ideal but better than undercooked. 8/10 Overall, service was okay but the food was very good! Good enough to come back again.

From start to finish, the food is beautifully prepared and presented by a lovely server in a pretty dress. Savories include diced lobster on a large cracker, a tuna topped with salmon, and two others. For desserts, the mini creme brulee topped with berries was tart and creamy. Two madeleines - one lemon and one lavender, an orange cake, a chocolate dessert in a chocolate shell.
