    Pad See Ew with beef

Always a pleasure to return here; the Pad-See Ew is great, and the service super friendly. This time I also I tried their fried shrimp rolls, it was ok, but the noodles were great as usual.

Review for delivery only. My food came hot and fresh even though I it took a while to be delivered since I live a few miles away and it was rush hour on a Friday. The papaya salad was tasty and filling with the right combination of sweet and spicy and even came with a couple of shrimp on top. The spring rolls were solid and not greasy/soggy which is always a risk with delivery. Use the sauce for some extra flavor. The beef drunken noodles were the best I've had in awhile, the beef was tender with lots of flavor and the noodles were soft without being too gummy. This was my first time ordering from here and I'll order from here again.

Pad Prik-khing with vegetables only. Nice flavor. If you want spicy go for spice level "very hot".

This was our first visit, but we really enjoyed our takeout. Vegetables were fresh, meats were tender, flavors were nicely balanced, and the vegetarian options are many. I like all the spice level options. If you can't handle spicy food, just about everything here can be pretty mild. If you like it spicy, check the "very hot" box. Regular old "hot" was still fairly mild. Takeout portions were very well-packaged. I wish they didn't use styrofoam for the rice. Looking forward to trying more.

Happy Thai is my go-to place when I'm in the mood for a quick and easy dinner (usually the pad krapow & red curry). It is a hole-in-the wall spot so don't expect the fancy interior. The food is delicious and the service is quick. The price is average for the area.

One of my favorite thai restaurants in the dmv! It's a hidden gem tucked away in an unassuming shopping center. The food is consistently good! Crispy duck kapow - The flavors are so good, but I wish it was crispier. Papaya salad - Love that it comes with grilled shrimp. It has the perfect balance of flavors. Khao Mun Kai Tod - I've never seen this at other thai restaurants. The chicken is so crispy and goes well with the sweet chili sauce. Pad see ew w/ fried tofu - My go-to! Can't go wrong with this one. The service is also usually good - no complaints.

The simple but happy store name attracted my attention. So I called ahead and ordered a takeout. When I got to the restaurant to pick up my food, I was welcomed by a smiley lady and had a nice conversation while waiting for my order. I ordered Kapow Chicken with minced chicken but when I opened it at home it was not minced but sliced chicken. I was disappointed but the taste was very good. The papaya salad was also good.

Cute little spot in Fairfax. Speedy service, great food options, and very satisfying portions. Seems to get pretty busy so if you're dining in, recommend coming at odd hours or making a reservation.

As soon as you enter, you're greeted by the sweetest man. He was very happy, and so attentive - refilling our water 3 times and asking how things were. The food was also very delicious. My friend got the green curry and I got the Thai fried rice- chicken for $12 (lunch special). It was so good- spicy and very flavorful. The restaurant is a small place and quiet. Highly recommend!! Service alone was enough to come again.

One of my favorite local Thai restaurants, and it never disappoints! Every time I visit, the food is consistently delicious, fresh, and flavorful. This time was no exception. The dishes are always prepared with care, and you can tell the ingredients are high quality. Whether it's the perfectly balanced Pad Thai, the bold flavors of the Drunken Noodles, or the rich and creamy Panang Curry, each bite is a reminder of why I keep coming back. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for a casual meal or even takeout. Happy Thai is a gem in Fairfax, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Thai food that hits the spot every time. Five stars from a loyal customer!

This is one of my favorite Thai places, and I don't even love Thai food. But I loved every single food item we ordered. Unfortunately, I could not name them as my Thai friend ordered for us, but even he approved. Service was super friendly and accommodating. I love how cute and casual this place is.

    Pad See Ew

I'm hoping this isn't the norm but my pad see ew had the eggs scrambled on top instead of stir fried in. There wasn't an option for spicy level so the noodles were quite plain. The service was quick and the woman at the front was kind. I will try them again.

This my kinda place! I stopped in the other day for lunch and I was very happy!! This restaurant has a nice comfortable atmosphere and clean tables with a really nice young lady who runs the place. She seems to have endless energy and smiles as she greets both dine-in and carry-out customers in addition to judging the phone orders and serving guests. The menu has a broad range of dishes that I think should satisfy most people searching for Thai food, and the weekday lunch specials are reasonably priced. I went with the lunch special basil fried rice with pork - served with a spring roll for a nice meal. I thought the dish was very good - tasty and with enough heat as it should have, but not overpowering heat. Since this was only my first time at this restaurant I've only been able to sample one dish, but I will definitely be back again and I look forward to enjoying more items on the menu! If you're in the area stop in and give this place a try, I hope you'll be pleasantly surprised!

The space is very small, maybe 10 tables. There's some parking that might be available in a small lot across the street and a half block away. I ordered Tom Ka Gai soup with Chicken, and Drunken Noodles with beef. Seems simple enough. And yet, there were three issues with these two dishes. I was really hopeful when they brought out my bowl of soup, mostly because it was a BOWL of soup and not the more typical cup-sized serving. The bad news was that the soup was tasteless. It consisted of a watery broth, some chunks of chicken, and a few mushrooms. (Issue #1). The six of us were two or three spoonfuls into our soups when the waiter brought our entrees. I don't know about you, but I like to finish one course before the next one is brought to my table, and I'm faced with having to decide which dish I want to let get cold. (Issue #2) In this case, the choice seemed obvious. I pushed the bowl of soup away and dug into my Drunken Noodles. Like many people, I typically order Drunken Noodles at Thai restaurants. I've had it dozens of times without any problems. I say "Drunken Noodles," they bring it (usually after I've finished my soup or appetizer), and I enjoy it. That's not what happened this time. This time, it was almost too spicy to eat. It was MUCH spicier than any other Drunken Noodles-es I've had. And I wasn't alone; another one of us could only handle a few bites of her food before giving up. (Issue #3) I may give this place another try, and if I do, my visit will include the advice that I just shared with you at the top of this review.

The restaurant is a longer, more compressed layout that has a lot of seating for a smaller space, but it can really fill up. The service is consistent across servers that I've experienced - they are neutrally friendly; the service is a little over the bare minimum, but not disappointing. They won't make you feel like you're special but instead like you're just another customer that they are going to feed and send on your way. No complaints. I had the lunch special here on a Friday and it was pretty darn good. Tastes were authentic but the "spicy" dishes could have used more spice. The lunch special offers 2 sides from among 3 choices: fried spring roll, papaya salad, or tom yum chicken soup. Since I had dining companions, I tried all three. The fried spring roll was average. It was not a fried stick of tasteless goo like at some other places. It had decent structure inside and good flavor, but it was rather plain. The sweet chili sauce on it was average and also had somewhat of an artificial pinkish hue to it. The tom yum chicken soup was similarly average but tasty enough to be satisfying. In my opinion, the papaya salad was the best of these three. It was crisp and fresh tasting, and had a good hint of chili spice to it. For entrees, we had the garlic tofu, drunken noodles, and chicken pad krapow. The garlic tofu came in a ring of undercooked broccoli. It could have been steamed longer or integrated with the cooking of the tofu and sauce. The flavor profile was lighter and less intense than at other Thai restaurants. Both the drunken noodles and the pad krapow delivered with familiar flavors, but underperformed on spice level. They were both denoted on the menu with 2 chili symbols but really came out weak (1 or less on the Universal Thai Spice Scale - UTSS). I'd come back here for the lunch special, or just to try anything else off the full menu, but I'd want to ask the kitchen to up their seasoning to match UTSS standards.

But the place was pretty empty, and I think I can understand why. The food here in my opinion is below average. I ordered a medium spice level Drunken Noodles with Chicken but I swear this was Extra Spicy--this is coming from a person that has a pretty high spice tolerance. Not only that, but it had a very tangy flavor to it as well. I've never had drunken noodles be this tangy. It did not taste right at all. This is one of my go to Thai dishes that I have ordered at many many restaurants. My husband got the Kob Kun Fried Rice. His dish was okay, but sort of strange. They kind of just plopped some crab on top (see pic) and didn't actually mix it into the fried rice. The crab they put on top was kind of cold, while the rest of the dish was hot. I thought that was odd. Even then it was better than my dish. So my husband, who has an higher spice tolerance than me, offered to swap dishes with me but even he could not handle it. It was spicy in a truly unenjoyable way. This sucks because I ordered a medium and they did not take that into account at all when making it. I had to do what I very rarely do--I asked if I could kindly send the dish back and I explained my issue. They were nice enough to let me order something different. I got the green curry with chicken. Sad thing is I got this mild in an effort to not have the spice issue again. However this time, my curry was completely sweet. I do actually like some spice in my thai food so this whole experience really sucked. I feel like I've made better thai curry at home, I will not be going back.

As we sat down, we were greeted with glasses of water along with a plate of boiled pods of edamame beans along with a sauce plate of sriracha & sweet soy sauce. Yummy. A sign of a good Thai restaurant is their Drunken Noodle & Thai Fried rice. We ordered the Chicken Drunken Noodle medium spicy & Thai Crabmeat fried rice. Let's see if it has wok hei? After 15 mins, our food arrived. The portions for both plates were above average. First the crabmeat fried rice. See the picture. Very colorful. There were large lumps of crabmeat as well as flakes/strands throughout the fried rice. I smell some wok hei. There was a side of spicy Thai lime juice sauce. It was good but odd that it came with the rice. The fried rice was very crabby in flavor and smell. But the taste was missing a little more salt. Here is were you order the Spice Tray. Throw some fish sauce with red Thai chilis. Or, what I did was mix some sweet soy sauce to elevate the flavor profile. Salty and sweet with the fried rice. The star of the show was the Chicken Drunken Noodle. So many flavors of spicy, sweet, salty & herby from the basil. Add some vinegar & chilis along with fish sauce & chilis to give the sour & umami flavors. The noodles were very soft and piping hot, even after 10 mins. Some wok hei too! This is probably one of the best Drunken Noodles in the area. Even my son said it was full of flavor & best he has ever had. Service was good. Our glasses of water were refilled multiple times. It's a little one higher end of moderate but the quality was very good. We found a gem! Definitely recommend & we will be back!
