I went to the awful nail salon across town (see other review) for a removal previously and they ruined the integrity of my nails. Ree took her time to actually soak my fake nails off and when that was all gone, she took care of my real nails and cuticles. I only get manicures before special occasions but they'll all be with Ree from this point on. This is a family run business. Ree shared they've been there for 30+ years. I believe Anna is her mom? Anna was there too. All the other clients there were regulars. I can see why! Only small downside is they don't have a parking lot and Castro Valley Blvd can be busy but not impossible to find a spot close by. They accept cards with a 2% service charge but do have Zelle to avoid fees or good ol cash.

I left my manicure today with bleeding and angry cuticles*…read more I walked in with no hangnails or anything, truly perfect untouched nail beds and clean nails, and left with bloody and aching fingers. I don't get manicures regularly so I didn't realize the man doing my nails was butchering them until it was too late. Basically, he used the machine for gel removal/nail buffing to completely annihilate my nails and cuticles; instead of using cuticle softener or soaking my hands in warm water, he went straight in with the machine and essentially drilled everything off. The surface of all of my nails is now ruined, and I have cut up cuticles that are bleeding and aching. I went home and put Neosporin and band-aids on all of my fingers. I can't stress enough that none of these fingers had hangnails or anything that would warrant roughness/leave them this red and bloody. Multiple staff members saw the blood and did not offer any kind of discount - they did put some rubbing alcohol on two of the fingers, but it didn't feel like enough to mitigate infection risk.

I moved to Hayward recently and had been bouncing around trying to find a new nail spot--came across Sam's page because I was curious about Russian manicures and she does them beautifully. Just a heads up on the booking process: the site directs you to request an appointment, but it's not auto-confirmed--Sam has to accept it manually. For my first appointment, I booked for the next day and wasn't sure if it was going through, so now I just DM her directly to check in. Super easy once you know the flow. Sam herself is super sweet and easy to talk to. She recently went solo with her business, so it's just her now--and honestly, I love that. It's chill, one-on-one, and you can tell she really cares about quality. She has a gorgeous selection of colors and uses high-end products, which I think is why everything lasts so long. The first time I went, my nails were in sad shape and I honestly didn't think they'd bounce back. A month later? I've got legit nails I'm proud to show off. I had an enjoyable, quiet experience ( whenever I wasn't yapping!) and it was refreshing to be able to communicate exactly what I wanted for my nail shape, color, etc. My toes look so pretty! I had to wait a bit even though I made appointment and they weren't really busy. Service for my acrylic fill was fast. I did like how gentle she was but she had to finish my fill and then go to another person. They then had someone else put the polish on my nails which is fine but I would have rather had same one. Within 3 days 3 nails broken. I felt price was high and thought it's ridicules they charge extra cateye when it's still painting a regular color on and just using the magnet?. I got charged for med length nails but feel my nails should be considered short $57 $15 for cat eye polish ??? I could of gone out and got a deli sandwich sorry that's a meal right there $2 charge for using a CC which I know ok it's 2 dollars (I don't agree with especially being a business owner myself you need to just eat that cost/write off those CC fees yourself for all of your transactions you do a day. Also it's not like I was trying to pay my $5 tab I paid $79 on my card. I got no special design or any rhinestone I didn't get a copy of my receipt but I swear they must of charge a service fee for tip or tax. Now I got to spend more money on another place to fix because you know I'm not going come back for a $10 per nail fix because you know they wont fix for free having it be only 3 days. Also in the front they have a sign that says no refunds so they must rip off a lot of ppl by charging all the upcharges without informing customers of price.
