On Thursday 09/12/24 was my first time coming to this business. Unfortunately I should've just went to another establishment. My experience at this nail salon was NOT PLEASANT. When I arrived I wasn't greeted I was just asked what I needed done. Before being sat down at the chair to get my feet done I used the restroom and a worker was sitting on the floor eating her lunch right next to the restroom, red flag. That was very unsanitary and unethical. The owner should have designated areas for her employees to eat. The owner clearly doesn't give a dam to have her workers sit on the floor to eat near the bathroom. While the owner ate at an empty nail table. This place looks super cheap inside they tried to make it look expensive but completely looks cheap! From the old drapes and chandler. The service I requested was 1 gel pedicure and 1 gel manicure. No type of conversations between the ladies giving me the nail service. First, the woman doing my feet was new and I was a trial/experiment. She had NO CLUE what to do. The woman doing my manicure constantly told her what to do. I told her from the beginning I wanted my toe nails clipped a tinny bit as my toe nails were grown out and I like them left longer. I asked her to shape my toe nails into square. She stated she understood. As I am looking at the other woman doing my manicure the lady doing my feet cuts my toe nails SO SHORT! And I tell her that I asked for her to clip a tiny bit. She ignored me. I know my feet and I like what I like. My thing is if she didn't know what I meant she should've clarified. Now I'm stuck with short uneven toes nails. I told her she cut to short and she tried to do better on my other foot. The lady who did my gel manicure did good. She gave me a massage after doing my manicure. I've never received that at any salon. I was definitely in pain the next morning she was extremely ROUGH. As I am paying the owner Mimi asked if I was leaving a tip on my card I said yes $5. She's said "only $5 but what about the other girl" I said look at my feet they are uneven you want me to leave a tip for someone who didn't follow instructions? Then she stated she would fix my toes I stated to her "HOW CAN YOU FIX MY TOE NAILS THEY HAVE BEEN CUT ALREADY ARE YOU GOING TO GLUE THEM BACK ON? She went silent and I paid and left very unhappy. Mimi should've done better handling this situation she failed as business owner. As an owner you should handle this in a better manner instead of giving a customer attitude. Not one bit did I give her attitude even though I was NOT happy with her worker's service. Today is Sunday and the gel manicure is already chipping. JUST HORRIBLE. I paid $75 for gel 1 manicure and 1 pedicure. I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. There are multiple negative reviews about this place. No care for clients wants and needs. I found my new go to nail spot! Theyre super close to me and have THE BEST staff. Everyone is so well trained, the facility is clean and nice, the treatment that come with your service are great. I got a gel mani/pedi which came out to about $78 for both. The color selection was incredible. Theyre very thorough with all their work. What surprised me was at the end of the service, they even gave you a MASSAGE. Like a legit massage!! Even aside from the massage chairs! My grandmother has been coming here for years. I tag along occasionally and haven't had a bad experience. It's a typical salon with typical service. However, after my grandmothers triple bypass, and watching how careful they were with her, how caring, how much they helped her in and out of the chair, how they listened so intently to her, I decided to make the drive to bring her here as often as possible. I tried this place out because my regular nail salon is far and I wanted to see if I could find a backup closer to home. I'm not super picky in general but I was really disappointed in my experience. A few things I noticed: 1. Manicure- technician not skilled, cut my finger and kept going- I had to stop her and direct her to put alcohol on it because it was bleeding. Nails were filed unevenly and she didn't buff them. I've gotten my nails done every 2 weeks for many years, this was the worst manicure I've ever had- anywhere. 2. Pedicure- just ok, second technician also not super skilled- forgot to clean under the nails and had to do lots of clean up on the paint job. The place in general does not feel clean and they don't use sterile packaging or cases for their instruments. Feels dated from a sanitation standpoint compared to other nail salons I frequent. The pricepoint was lower than what I typically pay by about 20 dollars but I wouldn't return here. If you care for quality, cleanliness and skill I wouldn't recommend it. read more

What a find! After much searching I've found my go to nail spot in the area! I called late on a Friday afternoon and they were able to squeeze me in before close. I've driven by this salon many times and am glad to have finally stopped in. Prices were fair, ambiance is super cute, and the massages were the best I've had in the area! They're also big enough that you can squeeze in on relatively short notice, but not so big you feel like you're on a human conveyor belt. I moved to the Bay Area in 2022 and discovered MiMi's. I used to love their services and visited at least once a month. I even recommended them to friends and started bringing my husband as well. I always tipped generously. But after my experience today, I will never go back. I went in for my usual French tips and picked a color that turned out to be too light. I politely asked for a different color, and to my surprise, MiMi became upset and treated me with complete disrespect. This was over one painted toe! When I asked if they had a pecan frost or cream shade, she came over yelling, making me feel utterly uncomfortable. Everything seems fine at MiMi's--unless you dare to ask for the service you're paying for. I've never felt so embarrassed and hurt. How can a business get upset because they don't have the color I want? There are plenty of nail salons in the area, and while MiMi's was my go-to, they will never see me again. Mimi, the owner, was very kind and cheerful. She knew the customers by name. The salon was very well decorated. My favorite part is the lit up nail polish shelves. As a local business owner myself, I don't like to write these type of reviews. But in this case, I feel like it's absolutely necessary. Mimi treated us (my daughter and I) well for the first few visits. I even recommended a friend (whom I just told what happened and she may not be going back either). All was okay up until we had our nails done elsewhere ONCE because it was more convenient (location wise). Mimi was not happy about that and instantly started giving us attitude and treating us differently (as if we're no longer her customers). We brushed it off and came back for the second time. She told us to come right in as there was no wait time. We came in had to wait for 15 minutes. I showed her what I wanted done which I have had done here before and she claimed that that's not possible. This seems to be an occurrence with Mimi. She will try to convince you to do what's easier and more convenient for them rather than what you want done. Midway through my daughters manicure, she asked her to go sit back into the waiting room so she can take someone else. This has never happened before, not here or any other salon we've been to. All while given attitude. My final straw was when Mimi approached me publicly and asked me what I did in her bathroom, number one or number two? Because "you are not supposed to be doing number two in there. My customers complain about that. I felt humiliated, unwelcome, disrespected." Mind you, my daughter went to the bathroom soon after me and didn't notice anything. This was harassment! So a heads up, IF YOU GO TO THE BATHROOM HERE, NO #2's!!! This lady should not be dealing with the public at all. She has no sense of customer service, has attitude and anger issues. I have read other reviews and if this is how she treats customers, I would not be surprised that she mistreats her employees. Finally, when we were all done, I paid her and she was still standing there expecting a tip. Absolutely not. The nerve she has!!! If I had to make a choice to do my own nails or come here, I would rather do my own nails. This was by far the worst experience ever. Mimi, you need help! read more
