I had a deluxe pedicure with Marlene yesterday, whom I had just met, and she did not disappoint. She went above and beyond with my calluses and was very thorough when applying the polish, making sure there was no residue left around my toes. However, I can't say I was pleased with my gel manicure. I didn't ask for her name because I felt I wouldn't need to request her in the future. The manicure itself was mediocre, but what really upset me was that the polish was applied onto the skin around every one of my fingers--each and every one. read more

I booked a pedicure 2 pedicure myself with TINA and my 8 yrs old with TIANA . Let me tell you TINA is absolutely amaizing!! I've been doing pedicure for over 15 yrs and never had it done like this. Attention to detail she even pointed out my ingrown before I told her and that to me is a WIN !! I will be booking with her from now on !!! My 8 yrs enjoyed it so much. I'm going to post a pic of my feet...I know, weird but Holly did such a great job I had to share. She took her time smoothing, shaping, polishing and cleaning up my feet. Nice massage at the end. Anyhow, it took about an hour and I don't know about you but I totally enjoy long pedis. The salon is small, clean and people kept coming in. Will definitely be back read more

John is the MAN. He is truly an artist and is so kind. I get gel Nail polish on my natural nail and haven't had any problems! The parking is pretty weird, you either have to park on the street or in a parking lot in the back of the building that I don't think is technically allowed. read more

$30 pedicure is standard pricing it seems and they did a very solid job on my toes. Although I wish the calf massage was more than just spreading lotion on my legs. But overall the nail cutting cleaning and paint job is holding up well. read more

I hate to have to do this to any local business. I was on a search for a local nail salon in the area since moving to Castro Valley. I was leaving for the weekend to a friend's wedding, so I was on a search to get a gel manicure (first time since covid started)! Made an appointment the day before and arrived to find out they hadn't written down the appointment. No big deal since there was only a few people inside. From when I walked in to when the lady finished with my gel manicure, it took less than 30 minutes! Way faster than I had ever had a manicure take. I didn't want to make a scene, but the polish (since it's a light color) needed more than 2 layers. Also, the application was done unevenly. I was a bit annoyed that the lady filed my nails crooked when I had asked her to make them square shaped. The gel manicure didn't even last a week. Definitely won't be back... time to keep looking for a go-to place. read more

I saw Tina and her staff years ago, and when I moved to Hayward, I stopped coming. Today, my normal place was booked and I really needed a last minute dip mani, and gel pedi for my engagement party this weekend. I had an "ah ha" moment and called Lena's. They accommodated my last minute appointment, and I'm so glad they did! Tina did an excellent job on my dip mani. Perfect shape, and the entire process was just on point. I've been getting dip for a couple years now, and these were definitely one of my best sets yet. Loved my pedi too. Everything was just excellent! Will be coming back again, from now on. read more

New owner is awful. Went there for a 9am pedi appointment, and sat there for 45min. They acted like I was just there waiting. Seems like they just book you just to lure you in, no accountability with their appointments . No acknowledgment no sorry, and didn't even gives a sh** when I walked out. Wasted my Saturday morning. My bestie was in town and we were dying for a pampering self care moment. Luckily Lena's was able to take us as walk-ins graciously and served up some great nails! I loved the color selection (I got a regular polish mani/pedi) and friend got gel. Everything was clean and they're very skilled. I felt very well taken care of and comfortable. I can always count on Lena's for a great and affordable pedicure. I often see Marlene and she does an excellent job. In fact, this review is mainly for her. I went to a young woman who was really nice but her pedicures weren't as great as Marlene's. She does a fantastic job with cuticles and a great massage, too. Took a chance in trying out this nail salon for the 1st time. Came in as a walk in without appointment. Needed to have old gel polish removed and wanted gel pedicure. I was happy they were able to fit me in, I like the color I selected and looked like they had a good selection of colors to choose from. I just wasn't satisfied to go back again because they didn't have any massage chairs, and they didn't apply polish to the entire toe nail. read more

Lena's is a hidden gem in Castro Valley. Yes, the massage chairs and decor aren't modern like newer salons, but it didn't take away from my experience today. I booked a gel pedicure over the phone. When I arrived I was seated right away. They have plenty of gel colors to choose from. My basic pedicure included a scrub, massage, and hot towels. The woman that did my pedicure took her time, which was appreciated. Their prices are cheaper compared to local salons. I found my new spot for pedicures! read more

I have been going to Lena's for more than 15 years. I believe this is the third owner they have had now. The salon looks better than it ever has, painted a nice color. Adding more pedicure chairs was a great idea, he moved the nail stations all together. Tina has been doing my nails this entire time, she is great!!!!! Pros: - affordable prices ($28 for gel mani, $25 for regular pedi, $5 extra for French tip) - fast service if you get basic stuff - ladies were nice and didn't talk smack Cons: - so fast that the work is sloppy - not the cleanest or most relaxing place - located on a busy street with little street parking (there is a lot nearby but gets full quick) Just moved to CV and was looking for a local nail salon. I did both a mani and pedi, and was out in an hour which is the fastest I've ever experienced. Maybe it's because I'm biased and have other favorites in Palo Alto/Mountain View area... but there is a balance between time spent and skillset: sometimes too fast means a sloppy job and that's what happened here. A younger woman did my pedicure and I can see the side nails on my toes... The older lady with the bangs did my French manicure and blamed the varying widths of white on my small nails... She also did not clean my cuticles very well and my nails are different lengths. Overall a sloppy job and I won't be coming back. read more

This place is alright. I got a regular pedicure for $35. Gave the lady $40. Like that the lady wasn't pushy or thirsty for a tip like Ana Nails down the street. It was around 2pm so it was empty, just me. Relaxing and quiet. read more

I found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try after reading the reviews. I truly enjoyed my mani/pedi service here. I came on a Tues morning and it was only me there. The owner Thao was very friendly. Jeanette (?) took her time and was very detailed in what she was doing and I appreciated that. I did not felt rushed. Marlene is also very good with pedicure - I thank her for making my feet smooth again after wearing sandals for two weeks on a vacation. Parking is limited - they share a small parking lot in the back but be careful to not park on the wrong side or your car will be towed. I suggest parking on the street to be on the safe side. They have a variety of nail polish colors to choose from - OPI, Shellac, Essie, etc... The cleaniless of this place is acceptable. I am in and out in about an hour for basic mani/pedi. They tag team and work together. read more

This place was great! First off, they were really accommodating and quickly fit my friend and I into their schedule. I never know what I want when I head to a nail salon so luckily they had a lot of choices for me to look through. I found a previous yelper's photo and asked to get the exact same set. They were able to select the colors for me which was great since I suck at picking and choosing. We didn't have to wait long before it was our turn. There's many people working there and they are pretty quick. We were in and out in about 30 minutes and were able to squeeze in a quick lunch afterwards! Everyone there was friendly and chatted with us as we got our nails done. For my gel manicure is was $25 which is a pretty good price! All in all... I really like my nails LOL so I quickly jumped on here to leave a review! read more

I called to get booked in right away and they allowed me to come in 15 mins after I called to set appt. Place is compact but tidy. They practice social distancing and clients don't sit next to each other and face masks are required to come. They also have the plastic boards between themselves and you. Gel pedicure & a ombré manicure. Mani and pedi were both great and they make sure you are satisfied with the work. read more

I recently came here to get a full acrylic set and a pedicure for my one year anniversary and was a little nervous since I'd never been before, however I'd read a ton of positive reviews of Tina and booked an appointment with her specifically. I asked for pink and white French ombré acrylics with one accent nail and she gave me exactly what I asked for - my nails were shaped perfectly and weren't too thick or chunky like a lot of people do them. Tina was very communicative and friendly and made sure i got exactly what I was asking for. My pedicure was a clear pink coat with a sparkly tip and the lady who did those was also very attentive - not to mention the lotion they rub your legs with smells like creamsicle heaven. I will definitely be a new regular customer and can't thank Tina enough for these incredible nails! I've gotten so many compliments from friends. read more

Honestly, I was so annoyed by the end of it because he was cleaning the sides of my nails and since he was so busy talking literally cut my skin cause he was using the tool and looking behind him while talking to everyone else. I also had to ask him to clean the sides of my nails just so its not filled with skin that he had already cut up. So when he applied the nail polish I waited to see what else he was going to do because I can see how messy it was. Once it was dry the picture below was the result of this mediocre work. I think they're only good for their manicure which I haven't tried but it appears that's majority of their photos on their yelp.

I was really worried about it tearing off and I was nervous to go to anyone to have it repaired. Sam was SUPER gentle and caring. I had given up and was resigned to having half a nail for a few months but Sam was able to fix it for me! I attached photos of my broken nail that needed repair, how it looked after Sam fixed it before polish (you can't even see the crack!) and the final set once Sam was done. I am so grateful and will definitely be coming back. Thank you so much!!

I understand misunderstandings can happen, possibly due to a language barrier, but I clearly explained at the beginning that I wanted short almond nails. As a customer, I didn't appreciate feeling like my request was an inconvenience. She even said it's harder to work on short nails.
