I was a little unsure of Lee's Nails after they cut my finger while trying to remove my nails but they did a thorough job disinfecting the wound and carefully removing the dirt under each fingernails as well as removing excess skin around my nails. The nail removal took less than 10 minutes while the polish took around 45-50 minutes. After leaving Lee's nails, I left feeling that my nails were clean and well taken care of. I highly recommend Lee's Nails if you're in the Castro Valley area. It was a very clean nail salon and they even have phone holders. The nail techs are pretty friendly but generally kept to themselves so I just watched youtube on my phone or whatever was on the TV. Only complaint: One of my nails on my right hand is crooked. (but to be fair my finger is kinda crooked haha It's difficult for me when I do it myself as well). Spared everyone the before photos of my working-woman's hands and feet but they look a hell of a lot better now. Big thank you to Nancy for putting in 2 hrs of work. I loved my pedicure experience here! I made a phone appointment and she was able to fit me in for a walk in on the day of. The price of a regular pedicure was affordable ($30) and she did such amazing job making my feet look so clean and pretty in the lavender color I picked! Nancy did a great job! I booked a gel mani with some simple but festive art for the holidays, and a lip & chin wax. I was taken in for my appointment right on schedule. Too many of the bigger nail salons in CV and Hayward make you wait forever and then rush you out the door, which always seems to result in sloppy work, cut corners, and an uneven manicure. But not Nancy! She was efficient while still paying close attention to the little details. I brought a picture with me, and she replicated it beautifully! (Freehand, no less!) The wax was also gentle but thorough. I was in and out for all services in under an hour. I'll definitely be back. Thanks, Nancy! read more

My toes are happiest when I leave here! Really- Nancy never rushes the process, is diligent and very kind. She does a great job and giving my feet a glow up, and the polish looks fresh for a long time. She is also very responsive when making appointments, and flexible. I really look forward to coming here for a bit of self care and some winding down. I've gone to several nail salons in the CV area, and this by far the best and most consistent. I have been going to Nancy since 2016 and she is for me the best! She does reply to setting appointment right away, she will try her best to see me every time I request to get my nails and toes done. The price is very much worth it. And how she does my nails lasts for a long time. The gel for me is the best. Her mom does a great job as well. It is a family business anyway. Love the convenient location. Plenty of parking. Nancy is WONDERFUL! She always call you back, and accommodates her schedule to yours when possible. She is extremely flexible! Her work is superb. I stopped by Lee's Nails just on a whim to see if I could get a quick manicure. I broke one of my nails off below the quick and it was...not cute. I sat down with Nancy and we began to chat. After a few minutes I was laughing and giggling with her. She is such a funny, sweet person! We talked the entire time and when I looked down at my nails I wanted to HUG HER! Immediately, I made an appointment over the phone with Nancy, and she was able to have me come in the same day. I had gotten both a manicure (French-tips) and a regular pedicure, and must I say, she did such an exceptional job! Called in for an afternoon appointment. Henry was my guy. He took the time to really clean my nails. I asked him if coffin shape was possible, even though my nails were short, he tried to make it work. I'm glad they were able to make my nail color matte ( not all nail salons have this)! I got an acrylic set for $30. The manicurist was very friendly and patient, they took me right away around 4pm on New Year's Eve as a walk-in. I plan to go back to them for a pedicure. Heads up, the place is really small and easy to miss, near some car lot/dealership thingy. They only had 2 of the 3 spa chairs in use that day, looked like the other one was out of service. read more

This place is super small and I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I was driving by. They offer just about every type of nail service but since they are small it is best to call ahead and make an appointment. Their prices are moderate too, $20 for a pedicure and $10 for a manicure. They have a good assortment of nail polish but it is mostly drug store brands. Overall this is a nice little place and it doesn't have a strong smell of chemicals when you walk in. read more

All Natural nails By Nancy. I love my nails! I got a french manicure on my natural nails, my old nails carefully removed and my natural nail health addressed and catered to. I appreciate Nancy, she is very kind, sweet, and gentle. She takes pride in her work and customer service. I work nearby this location & thought about getting my nails done. Reading the reviews, I just had to go check it out. When I first called I wanted to go during my lunch hour but made an appointment in the evening. Then I get a call back that one of her other clients canceled her appointment and asked me if I can make it to that one if I wanted to get my nails done earlier. So that was a huge plus for me. Rarely, you don't get that quite often. She did such an amazing job with my nails. Also when I was there one of her good friends was helping her update the business with new lighting, and was so much fun having a conversation with them! Really good people! Unfortunately, my experiences on 7/1 and 7/29 have left me seriously considering taking my business elsewhere. Both times, I booked my appointment online and specifically requested my preferred technician. When I arrived on 7/1, I was told, "She's not working today," and was assigned to another technician instead. I did not have a positive experience with that appointment, but I let it go and assumed it was a one-time issue. I scheduled another appointment with my preferred technician for 7/29. When I arrived, I was told once again that she was not working and was being passed to another technician. What was even more disappointing was the interaction that followed when I expressed my disappointment about this happening twice in the same month. The owner was dismissive and told me that my preferred technician has had Wednesdays off "for two years already" and that I should have known. She also stated that I didn't understand what she told me during my previous visit. However, when someone says, "She's not working today," most people would reasonably interpret that to mean she is unavailable that day, not that she never works Wednesdays. That information was never clearly communicated to me. If this technician truly does not work Wednesdays, the online booking system should reflect that. As of the time I am writing this review, the website still shows availability for her on future Wednesdays, allowing customers to book appointments that apparently cannot be honored. What bothered me most was the lack of accountability and empathy. In my experience with other service providers, whether salons, massage therapists, or instructors, if the person you booked with is unavailable, the business contacts you beforehand so you can decide whether to keep the appointment with someone else or reschedule. Instead, Aesthetic Nails' process appears to be confirming appointments by text, having customers arrive for their scheduled appointment, and only then informing them that their requested technician is unavailable before assigning them to someone else. I didn't raise the issue on 7/1, but after it happened again on 7/29, I felt it was important to bring it to management's attention. Unfortunately, my concerns were met with a dismissive attitude rather than an effort to understand or resolve the situation. If you don't have a preference for a particular technician and are comfortable being reassigned upon arrival, Aesthetic Nails may still work well for you. However, if booking with a specific technician is important to you, my experience is that the online scheduling system and communication process may not be reliable or a positive experience.

For my first appointment, I booked for the next day and wasn't sure if it was going through, so now I just DM her directly to check in. Super easy once you know the flow. Sam herself is super sweet and easy to talk to. She recently went solo with her business, so it's just her now--and honestly, I love that. It's chill, one-on-one, and you can tell she really cares about quality. She has a gorgeous selection of colors and uses high-end products, which I think is why everything lasts so long. The first time I went, my nails were in sad shape and I honestly didn't think they'd bounce back. A month later? I've got legit nails I'm proud to show off. If you're looking for a new nail tech who's talented, kind, and really knows her stuff, definitely give Sam a try. I've already planned my next visit.

I'm a very understanding and kind person. I honestly wish I had just canceled the manicure. They didn't even prep my nails (i.e. remove my cuticles). The cherry on top was how expensive it was for such a poor job -- $150 . I feel so taken advantage of honestly, and it's a really bad start to my birthday now. She even forgot to put a top coat on my left hand and I can tell the difference.

First, I was shocked that a basic kids' pedicure for my 8-year-old son cost $27. All they did was trim and clean his nails, followed by a short leg massage. That price seems extremely high for such a simple service, and there was never any discussion of pricing beforehand. The biggest issue, though, was my own nails. I paid about $55 for my gel manicure--$35 for gel polish, plus an additional $20 for a French tip and a small Mickey design. When I woke up the very next morning, less than 24 hours later, the entire gel polish had already peeled completely off one of my thumbnails. The French tip and Mickey design on other nails were also already lifting and peeling. I've never had a gel manicure fail this quickly. If I lived closer and didn't have to drive across the bridge, I would absolutely return to request a full refund because this level of quality is unacceptable. Between my dad, my two kids, and me, we spent close to $500, so we expected much better workmanship. My daughter's nails actually turned out great, so this review is strictly about the quality of my nails. One other thing that bothered me was my dad's pedicure. The staff kept offering him additional services during the appointment, and he kept saying yes without realizing each one came with an extra charge. By the end, his pedicure totaled over $100 plus tip. I really think pricing for add-on services should be clearly explained before they're performed so customers can make informed decisions. I've attached photos showing my thumbnail the morning after my appointment, along with photos I took the night before. It's incredibly disappointing to spend this much money and have a gel manicure start peeling in less than 24 hours.

FYI Gel French mani is +$5 which wasn't mentioned until it was time to pay and I asked for the breakdown. I did appreciate her attention to my bottom foot callus when she was lotioning my foot. For those of you who aren't familiar with Japanese hard gel, keep in mind that this is a bit different than your standard "gel". It's SO much healthier for your nails and lasts so much longer. However, appointments take a bit. At minimum, expect to be here for 90-120 minutes. I know - this seems long - but it's SO worth it for the girlies who want long lasting, strengthening gel. Don't bother with standard gel manicures you get at most salons! They'll strip your nails and leave them brittle. I've been going to Carrie for two years and my nails have never been stronger. And if it doesn't get any better, Carrie is just a gem of a human. She's kind, respectful, and inclusive of everyone. Carrie, thank you for always making my nails look SO good.
