I went to Mito Asian Fusion with my family and We felt the price of the food was really over price. It is not matching the food quality. I see the staffs and even a possible the owner does not offer a courtesy to hold the double glass door for my disabled family wheelchairs member when we are getting out of the restaurant. Great food and drinks. We had the duck roll, the cucumber avocado and the hot mama. All we're fresh and delicious. The lychee martini and the Mito coconut Martini were excellent too. We came for happy hour so it was half priced. The ambiance is great. Definitely a go to place! read more

My family and I were looking for a good place to eat as we were driving from NYC. We were very pleased with this place. The workers were very friendly, the place was very clean and appealing to the eye, and the food was very good. The sushi rolls were small but were very good (salmon, eel, and white tuna), no that much rice (which I like it), the meat that were part of the bento boxes were very good as well. I reserved a table for 10. It was my dad's birthday. Nice ambience. Service was subpar. You constantly have to tell your waitress to get drinks like water or tea for everyone. You have to remind her to get utensils. The sushi, sashimi, and rolls were disappointing. We got the sushi for two with rolls. The sushi and sashimi portions were so small. Its half the size of everywhere else. Even their specialty rolls were small. It was the size of other restaurants regular rolls! The food was not fresh. Duck was fatty, Chilean Sea bass was overcooked and full of dried sauce (salty, not flaky, overcooked - how could a chef get that wrong)? The thai snapper was decent. Chicken and Beef Udon were salty - it tasted saltier after every bite. I even tasted MSG!!! The waitress apologized for the long wait for the kitchen food...the place wasnt even full or eveb half full. It was 6P. I already knew when it was time for dessert, they will have dessert thAt wont be available. Will never go back again. Worst Japanese food I ever had. Not worth $400. Good things and one bad thing The best thing about this place is its decor. They really thought about it and its pretty cool. Its pan asian theme is accentuated by the wall lined with terra-cotta warriors, and the pacific islander canoe suspended from the ceiling. Its all arranged around a very chic, modern design of open decorative panels, upholstered and regular booths, and normal table seating. There is also a very nice sized sushi bar. Some others have said this, and its true, it looks like the kind of place you find in Manhattan. Second good thing was the food. You would hope that was true.. Pretty creative stuff. We started with the Korean Baby Short Ribs, and the Grilled Calamari appetizers. Thats pretty unique stuff for Queens. I will say it was good. It didn't blow me away. For short ribs I look for flavor, of course, but also a balance between the meat, bone and fat. These were a little fattier/grisslier than I would have liked, but the flavor made up for that. The grilled calamari was interesting in that it was a whole, pretty large, squid body, grilled and cut into rings. It was a cool presentation, but like the short ribs, I was not blown away. A little on the tough side, and it wasn't very hot, so maybe a bit longer exposure to the flame would have made a difference. I am a Sashimi guy. Sashimi is a rip-off, no matter where you go, and even when its great, so it better be a nice size cut of seriously fresh fish with perfect texture. I want to feel my teeth slice into the fish. I was quite pleased with Mito! It had all that I wanted from my Sashimi. Onto the roll. Their menu is extensive and creative (and remember, its pan asian, so not just sushi). I got the Triple Three roll and thought it was a good roll. I have had a similar roll for about $4 less. I was ok with the price given the ambiance of the place. You have to pay for decor. Here was the bad thing. The waiters and bus staff were hovering. I mean at one point the waitress was watching us eat! The bus staff would see you about to finish something on a plate and actually wait within your field of vision and then pounce as you lifted the item from the plate! Really really annoying. Lots of other places to try before I go back. It's pricier than it's quality. But if you go, you will have a beautiful setting, lots of food choices that are good, and a very very attentive wait staff. read more

We came for dinner one night last week. Service was good. Setting was nice- it is really spacious and well- decorated. The food is mediocre. We ordered some cooked foods and some sushi. The tuna roll was extremely fishy- and the aftertaste lingered. The hot mama roll was good because the fishiness was disguised by the heat. But, a good sushi restaurant should be able to serve stand alone pieces of fish/sashimi that isn't fishy, without the many ingredients in some rolls. The Thai curry chicken dish was oily and the chicken was cut into large chunks. The veg noodles were very oily and salty. The miso soup was good. It's a good option in the neighborhood when you have a craving for something beyond take out Chinese food, but it was mediocre. read more

I stopped in here for a late afternoon solo sushi lunch. It didn't help that I watch YouTube reviews of great sushi. But this place was a disaster. I ate the salmon skin salad. It was edible. Parts of it was. Salmon skin is something I always finish. I then ordered a grilled calamari appetizer. It showed up many minutes past the five minutes I was told it would take, room temperature. No sign that it was grilled. No texture from the heat. Way undercooked. The sauce was sticky sweet. Like what McDonald's would do it they served grilled calamari. I sent it back. First and last time here. I hope I don't get sick from the one bite of calamari I tried. Go at your own risk. read more

Deiced to give it a try since it has such high rating. We visited this place on a Saturday late afternoon around 4pm to try their happy hour menu. Service was decent the server quick bring us hot green tea once we sit down and keep refill it. We ordered french fries, general tso chicken, chicken wing, fried calamari, rock shrimp for the appetizer. For the sushi we order the spicy tuna, spicy yellow tail and shrimp tempura. The appetizer were great. Both me and my boyfriend were surprise that make the cheap food tasty and fresh and we were so gonna come back until I chew out a piece of steel dish brush...we ask about it and manager came immediately and apologize and gave us a free ice cream and $4 discount which is not bad. Not all the restaurant apologize for these kind of things. The problem is that after couple hour we get home, I started throwing up and next day both me and my boyfriend had bad diarrhea and its so difficult not to think because of this place since this was the only meal we had on Saturday... I am so upset that now I have to look for new place to solve my sushi craving in my neighborhood now... The sushi is good, but the portion is ridiculously small. I'd say they are miniature sushi....smaller than Narita & any other sushi places around FH. The duck roll was pretty bad. There were tiny pieces of dried duck wrapped in horrible oily scallion pancake skin stuffed with avocado and lettuce. It's almost as if they are trying to hide that there were barely any duck in the duck roll. As I'm writing this, I'm getting heartburn from the duck roll...yuck! read more
