Unfortunately, their business model has changed from "honest and hardworking" to "opaque and manipulative." The Technical Issues: In 2020, Santa Air installed my trane system but failed to properly connect the emergency heat strips. I spent five winters wondering why my house wouldn't stay warm below 30°F. They missed this mistake during every subsequent maintenance visit over the 5 years. Recently, they tried to charge me $1,700 for repairs I didn't need. A second opinion confirmed their diagnosis was wrong; that technician fixed Santa Air's original installation mistake and the actual sensor issue for a total of $575. The Billing Issues: Their current pricing "tiers" (Bronze, Silver, Gold) are incredibly over-inflated compared to other local HVAC companies. And if you only need a repair included in the Gold tier, you have to pay for all the things you don't need in the tiers below it. When I realized the invoice was vague and the work wasn't needed, I cancelled. The Ethics Issue: The most disappointing part was the office's response. They tried to emotionally guilt-trip me. They held my refund hostage, telling me they would only return my money if I removed my negative reviews. I refused to be coerced and had to fight for three months through my bank to recover the funds for services never rendered. Don't let the high star rating fool you--they are actively pressuring customers to delete bad experiences. Always get a second opinion!!!

He has diagnosed our system with issues as simple as improper wiring from our homeowner-installed thermostat to fairly quoting us a new gas pack system to replace our aging builder-installed unit. He is always willing to explain what will be most appropriate for your needs, without overcharging for time or service. He is very responsive when calling and has always been on time. In all of our years of homeownership, we have never been as impressed with any contractor as we are with Choice Heating and Air Conditioning.

    We've lived here in Wake Forest for the past 3 years and recently we started having some issues…read morewith the two AC units for our house.Our first issue was that our upstairs was always warmer than we wanted in the summer months. It was something we had noted prior to buying the home and the previous H VAC company we had called for warranty work dismissed it as normal for a home with a room above a garage. This summer it had gotten to the point that even with the thermostat set at 74 we were hovering close to 80. I called Choice Heating & Air and spoke with Brian. I explained what was happening and very easily scheduled an appointment for the following morning. Brian was right on time and I led him to the upstairs unit. I explained what was happening and he went right to work checking the unit inside and out. Discovered that the outside unit for upstairs was low on Freon. I had him refill the unit. While Brian was here he also showed me some things I could change in our home to make cooling it more efficient. (He noticed that the builder had installed a return vent backwards so I turned it around to allow for proper airflow. He also noticed that our couch was covering a send and return vent in the living room and that by moving the couch out by about 6 inches it allowed for better cooling downstairs.) He also noticed that we were using air filters both at the units and inside the house. He explained that by doing that we were actually restricting the airflow into the house and should only use one or the other.I really appreciated that he took the time to show me things we could do to improve our efficiency. Since we've made these changes our home has been much more comfortable and we've seen an improvement in our energy bill as well. Last week we came home to find our downstairs thermostat display was completely blank and it was about 80 degrees inside. I tried checking and resetting all the breakers for the unit but could not get it to power on. I called Brian again and he was able to come out that evening to help us. He found that a a circuit fuse had blown and the contactor in the outdoor unit had fried. He was able to quickly replace the contactor and the fuse and we were back up and running again. I've never had such excellent customer service before from an H VAC company. Needless to say Brian and Choice Heating & Air Conditioning will get my business from here on out!
