I wasn't overly satisfied with the install of a whole house power surge protector. The wall cutout/cavity hole was cut too big which left a gaping hole. The technician was nice enough; but the job/work simply didn't live up to our expectations for a seamless finish. It fell short (literally). We followed up by adding a custom built wall plate to cover the rough finish. If you are thinking about getting a stand by generator for your home from BRYANT DURHAM SERVICES, you might want to think again. Especially after you read and study the Terms and Conditions in their "form" proposal. Recently, I received a proposal from Bryant Durham Services for a whole house generator that would cover my home in the event of a power outage. On its face, the proposal looked pretty good. I would have signed it but for the "Terms and Conditions" set forth in the proposal. When I read these, I was stunned at how one-sided they were in favor of Bryant Durham Services. For starters, a customer in N.C. generally has 3 years to bring a legal action for a liability arising out of a contract. A claim for personal injury generally must be filed within 3 years from the date the injury became apparent. The Terms and Conditions imposed by Bryant reduce the time for bringing any legal action to one (1) year, and then you must have given Bryant written notice of any alleged defect with 30 days of the occurrence. Further, the customer must give up his or her right to trial by jury, and the action must be brought in Durham County, N.C. In addition, there is an indemnity provision in favor of Bryant. Under this provision, the customer agrees to indemnify Bryant for all damages, expenses, judgments, and attorney's fees if the customer is found to have caused the claim in whole or in part, even if Bryant is found to have caused the claim in part by its negligence. Bottom line, read any proposal you get from Bryant carefully. Consider getting it reviewed by an attorney. Know and understand what you might be getting into if something goes wrong. I submitted my objections to Bryant, along with suggestions for changes to the Terms and Conditions. They did not have the courtesy to even respond to my communication. Outrageously expensive!!! Get a quote before you call, I didn't and I'm out 250.00 to change out a GFI plug and to tighten some wires on a disposal. Only reason for two stars was the tech that was very nice while I got fleeced by his company. That's just crazy, 45.00 for a GFI? read more

We called Bryant on Sunday morning about our A/C unit, which had stopped working overnight, and were told a technician would call soon with information. I received a call from the tech, who let me know they were very busy (understandable) but would try to get to us that day or at least call back to schedule a time the following day. I never heard back, and by the time we realized no one was coming, we had to sleep in our 88 degree home overnight. When I called back this morning, I was told that they were booked solid all week and just simply wouldn't be able to help me...even though this is not what we were told the day prior. It seemed like they had put me back to the end of their list, with no other solution offered. I know that AC units are probably all struggling with the heat this week, but that's no excuse for a company to just not follow up and then say they can't help you for at least a week. Very poor customer service. I will make sure that friends and family are advised NOT to use this company for their HVAC needs. read more

This review is long overdue, but I want to make sure that Demetrius Allen gets credit for the amazing customer service that he provided for me several months ago. I had a ceiling fan that needed the on/off chain replaced. Demetrius tried both Lowe's and Home Depot, but due to the age of my fan, he was not able to find the replacement part. Rather than tell me that I'd need to replace the whole ceiling fan, he told me that he had a bucket of spare parts at his home, and that he was sure he had the needed part. So, off he went, and within an hour, he was back at my house with the part. Installation was fast and easy. Demetrius was super friendly throughout, and I felt safe with him in my home. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that I was a bit surprised by the price when all was said and done. I'd expected it to be under $100 and it was a bit over $200. But given that Demetrius had gone to three locations before finding the part, I didn't feel like making an issue out of it. I am a female senior citizen and a new customer to Bryant. Because this system was for my daughter, I interviewed 5 other HVAC companies. Bryant provided the most detailed, comprehensive explanation of the scope of work. They also provided excellent financing. In addition, their warranty package surpassed the other companies. The most compelling reason to use Bryant is their staff. They provide outstanding customer service. They are well trained, polite, and genuinely concerned about your comfort and safety. This includes the person who gave me the quote, the staff that answers the phone, the staff that schedules the inspection, and the technicians who installed the system.
