Air Experts installed new HVAC system at my house couple years ago. In past year I wasn't able to be available for the recommended annual inspection when they wanted, subsequently kept getting phone calls & text hassling me about getting the annual inspection and actually telling me it's a requirement of the Town of Cary and at some point they'll have to report my lack of inspection to the Town government! LOL, absurd. Then, they even sent me a certified letter that I had to go sign for March 30th at Wrenn Drive Post Office, sternly warning me again of the above "requirement" by the Town govt. Insane. Thing is, I would have eventually scheduled the annual inspection - but after the weird harassment with "Town govt requirement" nonsense and the crazy certified mail, I won't do business with them again. read more

I cannot understand why this company is not more highly rated. I had an awesome experience. Let me lay it out. Background: I was waiting on another AC company to get back to me on a quote: days. Called them twice to check. Problem is it was hot as hell in the house - up to 88F in stifling humidity. So I called Air Experts late Thurs morning. We scheduled a consult with their "comfort advisors" (sales) for that same afternoon! That was kinda mind blowing by itself. Jackson and Erik got there and we were tearing it up while getting business done - hilarious really. By about 5pm same day, I had a quote and a good price for 2 new units. But then the next shocker. They scheduled the install FOR THE NEXT MORNING. Their installers arrived early next morning, Mark, Roberto, & Tyler. All great guys. By 10:30 I finally had air blasting in the house. I had suffered with failing AC for 18 months since buying this house and they had it down to 70 for their tests. It was... AMAZING. So, without doubt I recommend these guys. TL;dr: avoid this company if you value your time and money. We struggled with this company for over a week to get what should've been a very basic A/C repair completed. It took three separate visits just to diagnose the issue and then get a part ordered. On the FOURTH visit, after being without A/C for over a week, the repair person came out to our house. He spent three hours preparing the system for the new part. Then he realized the part that had been ordered wasn't even the right one and that he would need to put in yet another order for the correct one and come back in ANOTHER two days. We canceled the appointment and immediately started calling other A/C repair companies. Air "Experts" are grossly incompetent and have poor communication within the company. We had our air conditioning unit serviced by a competitor and the unit required a fairly costly repair. I contacted Air Experts to request a quote for the same repair to compare pricing. Air Experts would not provide the quote unless I paid them $49 for a service call. Seems odd to have to pay for a quote when one knows what is wrong. read more

I had a maintenance contract with Air Experts for years. They were out about a month ago to service my heater as part of the maintenance. They charged me $177 (on top of the $578 annual maintenance) to change one 3 amp fuse inside the house that they found needed changing during the maintenance inspection. Even worse, when I turned on my AC this week for the first time, it wasn't working. I called another company who inspected the unit, said there was nothing wrong with it EXCEPT Air Experts had turned off the unit breaker outside where I couldn't see it. Maybe they did not do that on purpose to charge me for more repairs? But I wouldn't trust them with things as complicated and potentially expensive as HVAC maintenance and repairs. read more

My HVAC unit was serviced on Thursday and stopped working on Saturday. Michael and Son installed our new unit about 1.5 years ago, we have a service agreement, and they promise 24/7 service. But on one of the coldest days Raleigh has had, when our heater stopped working on Saturday evening we were told "sorry" but we can't get a technician out to you until Monday between 10am and noon. This is unacceptable. What happened to 24/7 emergency service? Why am I paying for a service agreement? Temperatures are below freezing and windchills are in the single digits, but we are supposed to wait over 24 hours before someone can even come look at our heater much less fix it?! Is this not the definition of an emergency? Go somewhere else. read more

Worst service I have ever seen. Purchased a $7k unit 4 years ago and needs a part they cannot get resulting in 2 weeks without heat. Completely unaccepeptable...person on phone actually blamed me as it was the unit I purchased, like they had nothing to do with it. Then they blame the part distributor, like they don't know how to stock a mission critical part on systems they sell. They sell products they cannot service. Will be glad to use other vendors when needed in the future. Highly recommend using a company that cares about their customers. read more

BLUF: Always get a second or third opinion. Air Experts's tactics are untrustworthy. We obviously don't know anything about the HVAC system, our technician Nick, said our capacitor literally exploded. To his word it very much did blow its top off and looked extreme. He started to compare this akin to repairing a totaled car, it was not salvageable. He said even if the capacitor was repaired, he claimed the damage caused was so severe that the unit wouldn't last another month, much less a week. Two other techs came out from Delta and Tobacco Rd. Both assessed that the capacitor failed and the explosion didn't cause damage to any other components (coil, compressor, fan). Both recommended a $300 fix would bring life back to the unit. After the replacement with Tobacco Rd they performed a diagnostic check on the unit and deemed it fully functional. Air Experts's method of fear mongering left an awful view of the company. Knowing we rely on their technical knowledge this is how Air Experts decide to push their service. Highly NOT recommended. read more

This is the second time I requested service from this company (1. water tank replacement and 2. sump pump replacement) and they are consistently great. Ali Raza showed up earlier (as requested) on Saturday long weekend morning, went above and beyond in making everything right meticulously. A bolt on the cover was not coming off and I asked him to break it after it is taking a while but Ali wanted to do the right thing and took it out with utmost skill and patience. He chose the best US brand sump motor I wanted (without asking), and give a reasonable price than another company. He also fixed the original flawed installation in place. Had a standing HVAC maintenance appointment from months ago, only to get a call 2 hours before the appointment saying the techs call in sick and they have to reschedule but there's no opening until another 1.5 months out (back of the queue). I had my HVAC unit replaced in July 2022 and was told air ducts would be replaced to go along with the new unit. Fast forward 2 years and I have mold coming out of my air register areas. I had another company check the HVAC and apparently only half of the air duct was replaced. Come to find out "organic growth" is coming out of the old ductwork and I'm breathing in this crap. I have always had a good experience going back 6 years, they find a tech for me in a reasonable amount of time and normally they call and come by earlier which makes my work day much easier. The techs are very knowledgable and I love the photos they show me as they explain what my options are. They give me preventative options to think about and I like that, I have been without AC during inconvenient times so I prefer to be prepared. I also used their plumbing services to bring some faulty valves up to par and I no longer have to worry about leaks thanks to Travis! Keep up the great work keeping my family comfortable! read more

This place should be called "AIRHEADS", the worst customer service I have ever received. The techs are incompetent, inexperienced, no customer service skills, and lack of critical thinking skills. Unable to diagnose a problem, and when all else fails, "replace the compressor", 3 techs-no solutions, my husband had to provide guidance by googling troubleshoot. The A/C was ONLY 3 YEARS old and installed by AirExperts and was told by them, compressor was bad. They refused to replace the compressor because we did not have a Maintenace plan with them. Even though a compressor should last 10-12 yrs. The manager said A/Cs don't last like they did back then. LONG story short. BLANTON HEAT/AIR/HVAC was able to accurately diagnose the problem by calling the manufacturer. IT WAS NOT THE COMPRESSOR! I SAVED 2K from a misdiagnosis. YOUR COMPANY is INCOMPETENT, BORDERLINE DISHONEST. I DO NOT RECOMMEND AIRHEADS! read more

Today we found out that the AC unit Air Experts installed back in 2011 was not installed correctly. We had the unit installed and had problems with it continually...it went on for seasons. They would try to fix the AC all summer long and then winter came and they would say 'fixed'. WE racked up over 2K in repair bills within the first 5 years because something was always 'not covered'. At one point they replaced the control board and still problems problems problems. Finally they realized that they did did not install the memory card correctly for the new board and that then led to more issues.. the evap coil burnt out and they charged us 1,000.00 in labor when they replaced it saying that it just 'went' and it had nothing to do with the issues they continually misdiagnosed. I still have the service record from 2017 that notes this from the company. We eventually fired them .. today when the unit had to be replaced they found that 1/4 line set was used and that the Carrier Infinity unit MUST have 3/8 at least.. they basically cut corners and never told us.. so we had 1/4 line set connecting to a 3/8 causing the unit to never run correctly. I am not 'saying' this because someone said it.. we had another vendor here today and this week who took us through it step by step.. they even took videos of it. [I think they could not believe it either...] So.. while this review is about something that happened years back, I wanted to put it out here. I have a file 8 inches thick from Air Experts and more than 1/2 of it is REPAIR bills on a fairly new unit. Buyer beware. read more

they dont clearly communicate what the bill maybe. a tech did a service work in one of the unit. They installed it two years back and i pay them for yearly maintenance. Yet there was a gas leak and the tech came and took a while to tell me its the induction motor that needs replacing and they can order the parts and I should be covered. After the weekend i got scheduled . The morning of replacement, tech shows up at my door telling me that the warranty expired and that I need to pay 300+ dollars. All of this charge is for labor. I was surprised but as this is a repair I cant do without I had to do it. Such poor is their communication and sucj poor is their maintenance plab. i have recommended few of my friends and will discourage them now to go with Air Experts. Also will cancel my maintenance plan. Its BS read more

I wanted to leave a good review here but unfortunately I cannot. We got new duct work with them in 2022. During the install the crew left an old piece of duct work connected to the hvac unit. They would have just left a piece of old duct work falling apart barely connected to new duct work if we hadn't made them come back out to finish the job! I have waited two years to see if the duct work holds up. It hasn't. Not a single joint doesn't have leaks and upon further inspection the ducts have been installed so inefficiently some rooms are barely even getting air. A two year old system shouldn't have sagging or leaks. We spent 6k for nothing. Call someone else unless you love wasting money. read more

He came fixed AC with 10\15 mins,and actually found the prob even though had to go buy a part for heating part it didn't matter he returned next day again with 15 mins he'd fixed heat on out unit and even showed me how to replace filters I didn't even know about. He was very nice and vary respectful. I deff would recommend if you got any air or heat issues and u don't know etc give them a call, I know personally Birmingham al sometimes u could be waiting hours or days but not with them. I will give 2 stars for service requested. The response was quick. I already knew what the issue was. I was quoted $260 - $300 for the repair from other contractors. This company charged $89 to diagnose but would credit you if you agreed to the job. They quoted me over $500. I gave them their $89 and sent them on their way. Way over priced for an ignition switch. I immediately called the other company and my unit works just fine. Check around for value! read more

Called them to replace the gas control valve on a water heater. The representative on the phone assured me they would bring the part when they came. Serviceman arrived without the part, quoted an exorbitant price to replace it ($650), and tried to upsell me to a new water heater. Called another service, and they fixed it for $320. Air Experts was fantastic to work with! Our heater broke a couple of weeks ago during the freeze in Raleigh and they were able to come out for a consultation the day after I reached out to them. Then, they were able to do the replacement the very next day (we had an 18-year-old furnace, it was time)! Hans, our consultant, was very nice and explained things to us non-HVAC people in ways we could understand, which we really appreciated. He also informed us that we could move our furnace to the crawlspace to free up some closet space, which is crucial in our '60s low-storage house. We ended up replacing both our heater and AC unit since the AC was very old, as well. Hans did his job to try to make the sale, but we didn't feel that he was overly pushy. We got quotes from three different companies and they were all very close (with $100). All of the workers that came to our house were very considerate and professional. Apparently, the duct work under our house was a mess, and the guys took the extra time and attention to make sure they installed the new system correctly. It took them an extra day, but we felt so taken care of. They even fixed a small plumbing leak in the crawlspace for us at no charge! A couple of days after the installation, the heat wasn't working again. We called them up and someone came to look at it that same day (on a Sunday), and it was fixed again within a couple of hours. From that first phone call to set up the consultation, Air Experts exceeded our expectations in every way. We will be returning to them should we have any plumbing or HVAC needs and will be recommending them to all our friends! read more

Air Experts performed a diagnostic on our non-functional A/C system. After the diagnostic, we received an estimate of $1500. to replace and repair a TXV. The problem: The estimate provided no details about the cost of the part, the cost of labor, and the cost of the refrigerant. I called and talked to three different people at Air Experts, including a Service Manager. The Service Manager told me point blank: We don't/won't itemize costs. I told him that as a consumer, I have a right to know what I'm paying for. Buyer beware. The lack of transparency from Air Experts doesn't inspire trust.
