Visited Misuta Chow's this evening to try it out after some neighborhood shopping in Alden and then Elmwood Village. We arrived just before five and hadn't made reservations so we sat at the 'sushi' bar area to eat. The place filled up quickly around five. We were promptly greeted and seated when we arrived and service was good even when they became busy. We ordered cocktails first and I had the Shiso Crazy which is a delicious drink I'd get again. My friend had the Yamu Yamu which was also good. The straws were straw like -- plant based. I liked using them in my drink. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms and potato nests as appetizers to share and I had the tempura shrimp rice bowl while she tried the tako sand(wich). While we waited for our food we were treated to watching the chefs cook and seeing everyone else's glorious orders come out. There was a beautiful burger on the dinner menu that I saw come out many times. I wanted it myself but decided to try the normal menu my first time there. The appetizers were delicious. The crab mushrooms were really tasty. The potato nests came out in a huge hello kitty mug and were generously drizzled in sriracha mayo, sprinkled with scallions, and resting on some really nice cabbage and daikon slaw. The portion was quite large and this appetizer is a great deal at $4. My rice bowl came with two tempura prawns on skewers and a slightly underdone poached egg. I'm pretty sure mixing it all up with the rice cooked the white the rest of the way. I enjoyed the bowl and would get it again. Maybe with some additional skewers to try some other offerings. My friend liked the tentacle dog and would eat again. She was surprised at how tender the octopus was. Overall great experience and food. Would return. read more

Came here for the first time for night out with my cousin, liked the vibe here so trendy. We went on a busy night so there was crowd, but then we easily got a table and good service. We ordered the chicken wings which I didn't picture, they were okay but a little dry. Won't order this again. We enjoyed the Takoyaki, which was the first time we had octopus, so flavourful and delicious! After dinner we tried out their dessert, which was recommended by the server, it was the wasabi truffles, which were shaped and decorated like hello kitty, so cute and glittery. read more

A nice place to hangout with friends who love arcade games. The first floor has a bar and seated restaurant area and the second floor has another bar and arcade area. And joining the 2 floor in the back they have the pink staircase where everyone goes for IG worthy pics. There are quite a few different drinks to choose from and signature mixed drinks. When I was there they had mainly rock music playing. If that's your thing this would be a nice place to chill at. It just wasn't my taste in music. read more

I have been here twice now and it's super fun. The mixed drinks are fantastic. The atmosphere is super fun and on Saturday's a magician who writes for David Blaine does tricks at the table. The arcade is fun (and humbling for those of us out of practice) and the decorations are always up to date for the season. Hosts Bi+ hangouts and is super queer friendly. The food isn't bad, but I much rather come for the drinks. Good for groups, also vaccine card needed for entry. read more

I don't know why 0 is not an option. I used to frequent this place often, and was never disappointed. This time was so different. From the moment we walked in, we felt unwelcome. There was no host, every table they tried to seat us at was dirty. My first drink had a fly in it, to which we were told by the manager, "flies happen". Our appetizer never came out, and after we alerted the server who was too busy standing at the bar to ring in our food correctly that our appetizer never came out, we witnessed the "chef" eating with gloves on while preparing our late appetizer. It was my first time trying this place out. my family and I were searching for restaurants open later and called to order when we found out about the delicious looking menu. The first time I called, I was told that due to high volume I would not be able to place a take out order and that I needed to call back in 30 min. The second phone call I successfully placed an order with about 4-5 items. after it was repeated twice I asked about price and had to wait for the person to put it in the system -- no problem. I was then told 25 min for pick up. Arriving at the restaurant I had to ask a few times before the host looked up from her phone. I told her my name on the order and she told me about 5 min. 20 min go by and someone -- sounded like the guy who took my order -- comes out and says my name. He then brings me the food and I check the receipt to make sure things were in correctly. As a vegan I was excited for my bowl without egg that was notated on the receipt, but very disappointed to see pieces of egg scattered throughout the cold bowl. If it was a hard boiled egg, easy to remove. I could not eat what I ordered because the pieces were so small and there were so many of them that it was next to impossible to pick them all out. I stumbled into Misuta Chow's once before on a Buffalo Pedal Tour. I drank a beer, pumped a bunch of quarters into some video games, and enjoyed my brief visit and was charmed enough I wanted to come back to eat. Tonight, at long last (uhhh, 7 weeks later?) I dined at Misuta Chow's. Drink: Toki Highball, light and refreshing but felt like a fairly weak drink. I should make myself something similar at home because its simplicity is its strength I feel. Apps: pork bao buns. Super tasty, but felt skimpy on the pork. My first two bites were crazy delicious but then the rest of the bun seemed to be veggies and bun with no meat. Shrimp shumai also was pleasant but felt like tons of dumpling with minimal filling. Entree: Japanese fried rice with a skewer of salmon meatballs and a skewer of pork belly. Pork belly was very nice, salmon meatballs tasted like a crab cake with a teriyaki glaze. Rice was pretty forgettable and the portion was fairly small. Wife had a similar bowl, and two frozen cocktails (frosé and double dragon, she liked the frosé much better of the two). Decor is wonderful and hip, service was fast and attentive, but I care about the food most of all and it was just fine. Some very very delicious bites, but in total just ok, plus, I acknowledge we had $28 worth of drinks, but the $75 bill (pre-tip) felt like too much for what we received. I'd 100% come back to have a drink in the arcade and see if they do pork belly skewers solo without rice (I think they do), but I don't feel a need to return for dinner. Though as I type that, I will say the ramen looked pretty excellent, so maybe in the winter I'd come back to dive into a giant ramen bowl. I want to give it more for the high points of the meal and the vibe, but I just didn't enjoy it enough overall to rate it more highly. read more

I've never actually left a restaurant starving, I ordered the sushi, being that it was one of the dishes that didn't involve Pork (for $15 I was expecting it to be about 3 rolls, and only received one). With just that one roll, at least expected to to be super good even though I faced the disappointment of receiving such a small amount of food. Not even close, such a below average roll, I'm just so astonished that I left paying about $20 with tip and having to go back to the office so hungry. Maybe at least if they had specified that this dish only comes with one roll I would have myself to blame, but I couldn't even find that when I usually look for my mistake in these things. read more

The seating is a little small but food was amazing!!! They have have an arcade upstairs including a bar. The games are on the older side which I enjoyed. They had skee-ball, Tetris, street fighters, Pac-Man and many more. I would definitely recommend this place. Very cute first date place too. read more

This place is so cool! We came in on a Saturday night looking for Ramen and were pleasantly surprised by the Japanese menu- yakitori, buns, sushi, ramen. The 80s music and vibe are so fun- our friendly server had a mullet. There was no wait and it's neat to see the open kitchen where the chefs prepare the ramen. The Japanese decor is so nice as well. We went up to the arcade after eating and had such a blast. We would definitely come back again the next time we are downtown! read more

Lucky we took the pink sparkly stair way to the arcade which made 10 min feel like 2. Food was as expected and server was very friendly, as well as the hostess and I think could of been owner or Manager in the back by the food. This is such a fun place to eat! A magician was walking around doing magic while we are and there was live music on the second level too! The food is great Asian fusion and the ramen is awesome. We used to absolutely love misutas but had an experience that left a super bad taste in our mouth. Went on a date with my partner for my birthday. We sat at the bar attached to the kitchen. Waitstaff was quick to take our drink order and since we had been there before we placed our food order right away. Our appetiser came around 10 minutes later and was tasty. Our meal took over an hour and 15 minutes to come out as we watched every other table get served. After asking staff twice the status of our food it finally came. Both of our chicken rice bowls were a huge let down with mine tasting overwhelmingly of fish. Ended up paying over an $80 bill for two bowls that weren't that great, an app and two drinks. Major disappointment and we don't see ourselves coming back to what we previously ranked as one of our top 10 favorite places. Would come back for the upstairs area but the restaurant needs major redeeming. read more

There were quite a few items I wanted to try. I ended up with the ramen burrito... Uniquely delicious. As an appetizer I gave the shishito peppers and octopus fritters a try. The spiciness of the peppers was like playing Russian roulette... One would be mild and the next was hot. Yum! The octopus was good.... But I prefer octopus marinated vs. fried. It took away from enjoying the actual taste. Would definitely try the octopus hot dog next time I go. Atmosphere is trendy... Long and narrow space with exposed brick that makes you wonder what the space was used for during it's history. Head up the glitter pink back staircase for a photo opportunity before enjoying some vintage arcade games on the second floor bar. Parking can be tough... Misuto chow is an amazing addition to the downtown restaurant scene. If you've never had Japanese street food it's a must try. Everything is delicious - staff is super friendly and helpful with menu questions. Craft cocktails are creative! The pin ball and other games make it top notch! He had a work event from M&T Bank on the Miss Buffalo and needed something to eat after. Misuta chows was our choice and so glad that we stopped in. I've seen a lot of friends on Facebook and Yelp checking out the new facility. We sat at the bar right outside the kitchen it's too bad the wall wasn't a little lower so you can see the chefs working their magic. The wait staff was informative and gave a lot of assistance to what we should order. As we already had pizza and wings for dinner we only needed a few small bites so I started with a miso soup which had a lot of flavor and then we get some fried rice along with some skewers of chicken mushrooms and Japanese meatballs made of pork. The chicken and mushrooms are very good unfortunately the pork meatballs we didn't care for the consistency or the taste. After eating and playing at Bill we headed upstairs and that's where the fun began. It was a special night and the head distiller from blackened which is a whiskey owned by Metallica was in the house. They had a free Metallica pinball machine and you can challenge him to a game and if you beat him he had various stickers pins and shirts. It was a real pleasure talking to him and hearing his stories. Will be back again to play the vintage games and their big selection of pinball games. read more

Pretty cool barcade right downtown. A group of us went to check it out as we heard that it was the new place in town. We went in the late afternoon and it was pretty busy already but that isn't a bad thing with a place like this. A full bar downstairs with what looks like a coming soon kitchen and dining area. I would have loved to try the food but that just gives me a reason to come back. Upstairs is where the games are. There is also a bar with some hightop tables where you can take a break from gaming. There's a change machine in the back. My only complaint here were the games were .50 cents each. Not that big of a deal, but when I was a kid most of these games were a quarter. Oh well, more of a nostalgia thing for me I guess. The games were good though. Tron, Punch Out, Pac Man, Donkey Kong(all the versions on one machine), Spy Hunter, and a few more. I don't remember the name of it but they also had multiple player games like a off road driving game, one of the versions of Street Fighter, and a few more. We went out late on a Friday night after a hockey game and are so happy to find this gem. There was a concert downtown that also ended at a similar time and the place was packed. The staff handled the late rush in stride and cranked out a lot of drinks and food with no problems. My son got a Salmon Skin & cucumber roll and Dunbars Yum Yum rice bowl with pork belly and chicken. I had the Udon bowl which was amazing. Great food, great staff, fair prices and open late. It's ok. Drinks aren't particularly strong and are rather expensive. I would save this as a cool experience for out of town guests rather than a regular hang out spot. Food was decent but again pretty expensive. Very salty ramen compared to Sato. Our waitress was not very familiar with the menu so not great for questions. The menu was also not very diverse. Games are expensive to play and the second floor has awkwardly bright lighting. There are a bunch of spelling errors on the menu which just seems lazy. Pink stairs are dirtier looking than many instagram pictures would lead you to believe. Outdoor patio is lovely looking. read more

Awesome bar at downtown Buffalo! They have a great selections of cocktails and craft beer. Fun place to hangout on a Saturday night with group of friend. Second floor is the arcade floor, with old school arcade games which still uses coins (50cents a game). At the end of the arcade there is the famous pink stairs and a photo booth. Came here with several friends. Spent most of our time in the upstairs portion. The drinks were unique and all tasted good to my palette. I don't remember having any food so I couldn't comment on that. As with most places in downtown, parking isn't fun. But, there is paid parking nearby. I will also say that the place is not well marked. There was no sign with the name on it that we could find. Very aesthetic place. I've been hearing about Misuta Chows, so I wanted to check it out.  Friday night, we already had plans but we ventured out and decided to swing by quickly to check it out.  It's located on Main Street downtown, and when we were looking for it on Main Street, we knew exactly which establishment it was based on the amount of people standing outside. It has a glass front, so you can get a good view into the establishment. There were a lot of people standing & sitting outside.  When we walked in, it was pretty packed and the bar was definitely BUSY.  Drink prices were affordable though, $13 for 2 drinks, so I was pleasantly surprised. The signs above the bar were in japanese. After that we walked around, and found the back stairways (which were a glossy pink with hello kitty on it). Even the details of the stairs were amazing! You can tell the owner definitely put a lot of thought and consideration into making this establishment a different experience from any other in town. After we climbed the stairs to the 2nd level, we found the arcade games which included my favorite ski ball, pac-man and many more games.  However, I didn't play any games this night so I'm not sure of the game prices but it definitely looks like a lot of fun and it would be a great place for friends to meet up.   Walking towards the front, we found the stairway that took us down to the front entrance of the establishment. Also, I heard there will be food here, mainly bento boxes, so I will have to come back next time just to try the food. Overall, I had a good experience and the establishment is beautiful. The owner did a wonderful job with all of the little details.   I'd definitely recommend coming here and making this your meet up place with your friends. read more

While the pink hallway and the fun ambiance are showstoppers in and of themselves, the FOOD is by far my favorite thing offered here. My group and I pretty much ordered one of each off the menu and everything was a delight. The food came out quickly and had complex flavors. I have yet to go to this place for food, but it definitely looks good. The place is set up very strategically. The food and main bar is downstairs. It seems like a pretty modern set up with an open kitchen layout. Upstairs is where the fun is! They have the arcade set up and an additional bar. The arcade games are $1 each and they have all the classics! I went on a saturday night and considering they are a new place, it was definitely busy. I see this place being a very popular hang out place and fitting right into the downtown night life of Buffalo. And of course, the pink stairwell. Everybody is taking their famous pink stairwell photos. What's not to like! I am hoping to try out their food in the near future, but food aside, this place is a fun, new catch to add to downtown Buffalo!! read more

It's definitely a good place to stop by but not o w where you spend the whole the evening. The place looks great. I love the interior and how they designed everything in the store. I also really liked the pink staircase that lead to the arcade. The really made it seem like we were really in Japan. But beware that the food doesn't match the quality design of the restaurant. The food wasn't great tho. I ordered the Shio Ramen. The soup was okay - not much of flavor. But the ramen noodles tasted overcooked and soggy. My friends ordered a few appetizers, one of them consisted the Karaage Chicken. They thought that it just tasted like fried oil and bland - basically no flavor whatsoever. Japanese meatballs were interesting, we ordered the pork, chicken and salmon but for some reason they all tasted like salmon? Takoyaki was too salty for them. In the end, we didn't enjoy the food as much. The customer service was alright. They didn't do much for us when we said the food didn't taste right. read more

It's very busy on a Sunday night, but rare seating doesn't take away from how fun and helpful the bartenders were to make a great experience. Our food took a long time, probably due to many other orders, but the bartenders checked in on us very frequently to update us on our meals. Small selection of games upstairs, but it was awesome! It's beautiful in there and I hope everyone I know who visits Buffalo gets to check this place out. read more

Vintage Adult Arcade! I love coming here and playing the old school games upstairs. Have a drink and play some pinball to relax from a stressful day at work. Located downtown, its nice and trendy. I have not had their food yet. Honestly, I'm a bit nervous to try it. I've heard mixed reviews about the food and I don't want to waste my money. But the drinks are good and you are sure to have a good time. It can get very crowded on Friday and Saturday nights so be mindful of that. read more
