The staff assisted me with the best technique to throw the axe , after a while I got the hang of it , although my boyfriend was a true natural ! We also got to do some Billiard games for no additional cost . Saturday afternoon was bustling with children , so we decided not to check out the arcade or lasertag . I plan on going again within a couple of weeks , as I got a credit to try out another attraction . The lobby has expanded with the bar having moved to the other side of the lobby into a space that was not there before and the old bar area is now filled with tables and chairs where patrons can sit comfortably while waiting for the theatre to open. The seats inside the theatre have always been very comfortable. I do not remember there being cup holders attached the back of the seat in front of me, so that might be part of the upgrade. The rows are spaced so that one can easily cross in front of a seated patron without the patron having to stand up. The steps are also more gradual than in the old Musicalfare Theatre, and well lighted. By the way, we were there to see "Jesus Christ, Superstar", a great production.

The whole first floor and courtyard are set up with beer, wine and a few hard liquor choices. There are tastings in each of the three rooms and the courtyard. Some of the tastings are: bruschetta with assorted toppings, Bavarian pretzels with a cheese sauce, a smoked turkey wrap, 4 different wood fired pizzas,macaroni and cheese, several cheese platters, a really beautiful dessert table with mini fruit tarts and chocolate eclairs, Mexican street corn, mini cupcakes, jerk chicken bites, empanadas. Of course the most important part of the evening was hearing an inspirational story from a 17 year survivor and her battle.

I've been trying to get into seeing more theater lately, and my visit has only confirmed my thirst…read more It had been about a decade since I visited to see Peter Pan, which I had recalled mostly fondly, so I texted a friend and bought tickets for the show. We arrived about half an hour early after stopping at Lake Effect for scoops. Who needs dinner and a show when tummy ice cream is involved? The theater also sells snacks as food and drinks from the outside are banned. We were greeted outside by a dapper gentleman who held the door for us to get into the lobby. Unlike other theaters, there was elbow room to have them check out printed tickets and make conversation about the show. Others had digital tickets that seemed to work as well. We popped into the loo, which thankfully had multiple stalls, hardly any wait and was fully stocked with soap and towels. There were people selling souvenir toys and raffle tickets that we bypassed to find our seats. The playbill girl gave us a rough estimate of where we would be located. Thankfully everything is clearly labeled as to not get lost. For a mere 40 each, after fees, we were five rows back, centered. The view was clear, the sound was clear and the leg room- my gosh. For the first time in a long time a theater had room for me to stretch my legs a bit instead of cramming in more seats. The view is historically gorgeous in architecture and paint. Though we were there to experience the show, not just a building. The show started on time, held a brief intermission and concluded in about two hours. During that time, we got wowed by talented singers, very acrobatic dancers and mostly talented actors. (There was one that we would have probably chosen a different person to portray the roll, but I'm not going to crush a child's dreams when they did adequately. And others filled their rolls amazingly so I'm chalking it up to personal preference.) The costumes are well constructed without being extravagant. Tiny shorts cover any areas that would make this child friendly show receive an R rating. At the end, after all the standing ovations, we were able to exit with ease and get back to the car, parked at no cost in a nearby lot. Beat that Buffalo parking. Extra shout-out to whoever put the dual drummers in the loge to let us see the masterminds at work. They were the heartbeat of the show for me!

We attended an event called Blue Monday with Jack Civiletto (Chicago Jack) leading the group. Each week has a guest singer. This week it was Rod Nickson. This was followed by an open blues jam session where other local blues musicians are welcome to join in. Reserved seating is recommended with other tables available depending on the crowd. There's limited but good food menu and reasonably priced drink menu. Enjoyable fun night. If you're not into blues (which I love!) You can check their calendar for other option. From my first visit to the most recent it's a 5 Star entertainment venue. We come to listen to the best of the best of Western New York's Blues performers, most of which are in the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame. Our latest visit here was for the 2022 Lafayette Tap Room Reunion party. Anyone that remembers the Tap Room at the Lafayette Hotel on Washington St should remember how Blues nights packed the house. This reunion was the same. Packed with musicians taking turns on stage and music fans filling the venue. There is always a reasonably priced food menu and a fair priced bar.
