If you continue straight after you cross the border from the states to Canada, you'll end up in Clifton Hills. And as you make your way up the street, you'll see and hear the sounds of Great Canadian Midway. It's a fun place to stop by and play one of their variety of games that they have. They have classic arcade games, newer ones, bowling, skee ball, and other games you might see at Lasertron (if you're from the greater Buffalo area), or a Dave n' Busters if you're familiar with that. You can walk in and grab a card to buy and reload credits on it. It feels crowded at the entrance but as you go deeper into it, you'll realize it's mostly because people are attracted to the lights and that there isn't a lot of people in the place. We ended up only playing one game and that was the blaster game where you are in a moving car and you need to shoot different targets with your lasers to get points. The customer service isn't the greatest. On a good day it might be decent at best. They are short with their answers. If you're in good spirits or know how to have a good time regardless of where you are, this can turn into an awesome experience for you. And if you get hungry, you can walk up the stairs to Boston Pizza or continue down the way to a handful of other options. This place is great for the whole family. read more

I've always been coming to Midway since I was young, maybe for the last 15-20 years, but this time I came, all the games took a lot more tokens than usual. Before, the thrill about midway was that you would get physical tokens and physical tickets; that was the charm. But now all the tokens are loaded onto a physical card, which you need to pay an extra $2 for?? All the games now also take 4 to 10 tokens. That's quite upsetting... before, there used to be games that you can play with just 1 token. Overall a bad experience. Stuff has gotten more expensive. Quality has declined. Review for the XD Toy Store 4D Experience- If you are coming to Niagara and want to do the Clifton Hills midway experience like a mid tier Atlantic City, go ahead and get the fun pass and go for it. It's a great way to spend a few hours with absolute cheese and worth the group price (we saw lots of parents pay one offs and that is soooo much more expensive). Great Canadian Midway at Niagara Falls seems to have changed their payment format since around 2024 spring; there is no longer any game tokens to play or paper tickets for prize, instead it uses game cards issued at its machines or its staffed cash counter, and all prize tickets are tracked digitally after each swipe and play. Each new game card cost $2 CAD, plus tax, and minimum amount per credit refill is $10, you can no longer pay smaller amounts than that. Each game credit equals about 25 cents; most short ticket-prize-giving midway games cost about 3 to 8 credits($0.75~$2) per play, and racing or shoooing game cost about 8 to 10 credits (~$2+) per play, a few fancier games like VR or big claw machines cost upwards to 20 credits per play. Overall, it feels like this arcade place has gotten more expensive and greedier than in the past. Fun and friendly staff! It was my kids' first time there (1.5 and a almost 5). I didn't know that a baby would have lots of fun there. Lots of great options to choose from. We also discovered a smaller Midway Game right next to Boston Pizza. (Between Boston pizza and ferris wheel) I think that one is more suitable for younger kids. Smaller space but the arcades are less loud and crazy. Staff are super helpful and friendly. They let my daughter to take her time to pick her prizes. $20 for 50 tokens. I went really late at night so there was no one in the arcade except for us. We bought the special deal that included $20 worth of coins to play in the arcade as well as the ride that shoots targets on a cart. We had a lot of fun on the rides but we found that the left side gets a lot more area for the targets to shoot and the right side doesn't. We got enough tickets to get a few prizes to bring back with us. We didn't have enough for 4 rings we were off by 3 tickets. But the guy was nice enough to give us an extra one. I really like this arcade, they open late and even for the games that weren't working correctly we just had to let the workers know and they will come check out the machine, fix it and give you back your coins. read more

This place makes me feel like a kid again. I honestly think I have more fun in there than my kids do. There is a huge variety of games to play and fun activities to do. There's even a dancing game there which is super fun and exciting, there's 3D bowling, a 3D theater, a haunted house, 3D roller coaster ride and a mini shooting range amongst a barrage of other stuff. There's something there for everyone, unless you're the Grouch, the Grinch or Mr Scrooge. Fun comes with a price so make sure you have enough tokens as each game accepts different amounts of tokens and they go by very quickly. Some activities you have to pay cash as they don't accept tokens. Play and win as much tickets as you can to redeem prizes when you've used up all your tokens. This is an old timey arcade with a ghost blasting ride. It has tokens and paper tickets. It also has games of luck, skill, chance and reflexes as well as strength. The Fun Zones in Skylon and on Fallsview as well as on Clifton Hill (formerly Captain Jack) are competitors along with Adventure City. This place is awesome - WHEN it works. I contemplated giving this place 1/5 but there is some stuff inside that is consistently decent such as Ghost Blasters or some of the games. My biggest problem was how many games were rigged for payout, we got so many jackpots and every time it wouldn't payout we had to get staff to help us out.. Staff 50/50 would be willing to HELP, some staff would just give us 10 coins back for the jackpot and tell us to try different games, others would actually fix the machine temporarily and even then wouldn't pay us back for the whole jackpot lmfao. Next time I would not prepay as we probably bought too many tokens buying two of these 'packages'. Yes, sometimes the machine ate tokens, yes sometimes the ticket machine counter ate my tickets (I think I caused three machines to go out of service), but all in all we had fun. We won enough tickets to get the kids enough things they liked, and the person at the prize counter was super nice, friendly and did not rush us at all. My first impression is that this place is big, colorful, loud, similar to Dave & Busters but there's a huge selection of different games to play and do. On our first night, I played a game called "stacker" and won an Nintendo Switch and the Original Play Station 1 console! After that, we visited 3 more times just because it was that fun and addicting. Each machine is usually 2 to 4 tokens. They accept USD and CAD for tokens but I would recommend exchanging it to Canadian dollar because you get more. Fun place to go with kids. If you plan to be there for an hour or so, get the online deal of 180 tokens for 40 dollars as you will pay more for less when you get there. You can get this deal even when you are there but you will need to walk to the kiosk in front of the skywheel to claim it. Lots to do though like all arcades the prizes aren't worth their ticket prices. In all respects was a good experience. A couple of machines stopped working but the staff are super responsive to get them up and going again. Usually tickets get stuck in the machine. I'm a sucker for this place. It used to be called "Dazzleland" back in the day when my Dad, brother and I came. Now, 20+ years later, I get to take my kids here. My daughter is still too young but my 3 year old went absolutely bananas for this place. My husband and I ended up spending $100 over two days -- kind of ridiculous, but it's Niagara Falls... can't really think about how badly you're getting ripped off or you'd never want to come. We did get several hours of entertainment though, so not the worst value on Clifton Hill by any means. The prizes have come a long way too. This place brings back a mountain of memories from childhood. For some reason, it seems like the arcade games that we had when I worked at Putt-Putt Golf, Games & Skating back in the late 90's are all still up and running - like Hydro Thunder, Sega GT Racing and Cruisin' USA. Not to mention the physical games - skee-ball (of course), air hockey (a must) and that annoyingly-stupid game where the ball of light runs around in a circle and you have to slam the button right when it's in between the arches in front of you. Dear god that game sucks! They have this place set up like a cross between a Chuck-E-Cheese and a casino. You can buy tokens with a credit card (wow) and then keep them in the same kind of buckets you'd find in Vegas. The prize center is awesomely lame, with 5 tickets buying you a fake fly or a ring, and everything else costing 2,500 tickets. My girlfriend and I were one ticket short of a whoopee cushion, so we left our modest stash for another child to enjoy. read more

I've been to this Midway a few times, and there's really not much to report. It's a huge gaming center, not unlike what you would find at Dave and Busters, only with more kids running around. The selection ranges from super-kiddie-ish games, to stuff like Guitar Hero, shooting games, and ski ball/basketball games. Honestly, I usually use this place as a pit-stop while on the hill, but I will usually end up playing a few games. On my most recent visit, my girl and I gave their ride a try, which is esentially Scooby's Haunted Mansion from Canada's Wonderland, sans-Scooby. It was fun. Our scores put us in the top tier of shooters. Yeah, suck it losers! So there it is. Nothing special. Some great games and a decent ride. Most importantly, a free and clean bathroom in the heart of Clifton Hill. read more

Anyone who knows me knows that I love arcades. When I found out the surprise trip my parter was taking me on was to Niagara Falls, I knew the midway had to be our first stop. Prices are reasonable, and this is the only arcade that I know of that's still using the token and ticket system which adds some novelty. We ended up with a decent amount of tickets and some shot glasses as prizes after only spending $20. They also have a 6D (which I think is the same as 4D) ride and a shooting ride (similar to the one at Canada's Wonderland). This is a pretty fun arcade that kids will definitely love. They have a huge amount of games and a wide variety so everyone can have a good time. Tokens cost us a bit more here than we are used to in the states (essentially two for a dollar) and most games cost two or more tokens. HOWEVER, there is a wide variety of games and many of them are multiplayer making this a very fun family experience.
