Wow! Awesome rink! So I came here on. Wednesday night (adult retro night). It was also the start of the annual Borderline Jam which I was unfamiliar with since I'm just getting back into skating again but there were so many incredibly talented skaters it just blew me away! I am just an average rollerblader. I haven't hit a rink in a quarter century until this past week so I can't even remember how to skate backwards but I still go fast and just flying around the rink listening to music on a great sound system with fun lighting was enough to make me happy and get great exercise too! Admission is usually $10 (I had to pay $15 because of the special event). There are skates to rent but I know nothing more as I have my own. There are plenty of lockers and they are a quarter to lock each time (I was busy skating and never opened it again until I left). The key doesn't have a wrist band so make sure you have a pocket or a fanny pack or something to put it in. There is a snack bar with things like pizza, pizza logs, nachos, popcorn, etc. at a fair price. There are also some alcoholic beverages! There's also vending machines with plenty of snacks and drinks. There is an arcade too which I wanted to play but unfortunately almost every game was turned off and no one at the ticket counter - im not sure if it is like that every adult night or just due to the special event but I wanted to play some games! Staff was friendly but so were the people! Everyone that came up to me was just genuinely being nice and inclusive and not being a creep. That really made me feel happy and excited to come back. What I love the most was all shapes sizes ages colors genders styles and skill sets all harmonized as one. Everyone was really enjoying themselves, getting along nicely, if someone is coming around you fast they will make a noise so you know or they may gently touch you for a moment so you know they rounding you so no one falls. It was really a nice venue with wonderful people where you can feel safe and free from all of the silly arguments you see on social media, or rudeness you see out in the wild quite often. Whether your 80 years old and still able to fly around the rink, younger and full of dance moves on skates that make heads turn, average like me, or just starting out and need some help .. and people there will be happy to help you ... this is the place to be! What a blast from the past!!! Attended a private Girl Scout event here and was so incredibly amazed at how well-kept this diamond from my youth still is! Honestly, everything in great repair. Prices in the snack bar were (shockingly) MORE than reasonable. It even smelled the same in there from back in the 80's (a good thing, I assure you!) The only thing I wish they would offer: GROWN up sized roller skating PVC supports! I haven't put a pair of skates on in 20 years and would have loved to get out there to try, but these old bones can't risk a fall anymore! read more

One of the nicer skating rinks in WNY. Alot cleaner looking than others. Love the black lights that makes all light colors look like its glowing. Really have that old school skating vibe that i loved as a child. Really had a great time on Saturday which is family night. Came for my young cousins birthday get together. They have a great deal for a family nightfor a family of 4 for $60 which covers admission and skates for 4 people and a large pizza and drinks. They have an arcade for entertainment also. read more

Great place to have a kids bday! A bit pricey, but we got the same hostess 2 years in a row and she was great!

This isn't the first time we've been here and it's certainly not going to be the last time. It's affordable, the light and sound quality is top notch and there is enough fun for hours out with your kids. There is beer served at the snack bar, a game room and bounce houses for the little ones and post skating big kids. We really love Rainbow rink and always try to visit when. I used to come here when I was a child and my friend just recently had an adult bday party here and it was soooooo fun! I rented skates for $3, and we had a private skating party for 2 hours! We were allowed to choose our music and ask the dj to play whatever. We were allowed to bring our own desserts and food or also order drinks N/A and alcoholic as well from the bar area, and any snacks for purchase, including slush puppies! Of course, I had to get a cherry one. The inside was all redone since the last time I was here and it was very clean. The rink was everything I remembered from childhood, prob even better, because the remodeling since then. I would most definitely come back here again or even book my own party here, it was an absolute blast! read more

The owners kids are so rude. Me and my friends were just skating around trying to enjoy our time after a long time of not seeing each other but the owners kids kept coming to us and calling us rude names and when we complained to the owners they did nothing. This truly ruined our time. read more

PSA:Tonight while at the Rainbow Roller Skating Rink in North Tonawanda- We had a sad and unfortunate situation happen.Our grandkids were skating and another guest purposely came up and pushed one of them down.Another family minutes before also had their daughter pushed to the ground by the same person.They also caused a huge scene sceeamjng at the parents of the child who was pushedI handledit differentlyanx wdnt to thd management team..The response from the rink was to give us a pass to return another time... .REALLY????? They should have asked the offenders to leave.Jnstead thd people who were violated( us) left. 7 patrons left because of one family being violent and aggressive. 1 family gets to stay ? Hmmm makes you wonder...I made my complaint in person and also in a email...I hope the rink does the right thing.So far no word. As someone else said.They spent all that money on the lovely mural outside.Maybd the money would have been better spent on security guards instead. read more

Picture if you will... Your valiant heroine is pulled from her deep and thought to be eternal slumber to go to a friend's derby practice. After much fumbling and stumbling and a strange sick feeling in the pit of her gut, whisked off in a speeding chariot and POOF Rainbow Rink. Inside tough girls are lacing and unlacing their skates. Jamming is occurring. Shouts and laughs. Nix, not being in the derby, was seated in those telltale benches that run along the side of almost every single rink in this country. The interior is about what you'd expect, high ceilings, large rink, tables that no doubt held countless birthday parties and awkward first kisses after couples skates. It was chilly and fairly dark, it was also silly early after a long long night. Rainbow rink has several arcade games and a prize case for ticket exchanges. It was exactly like I remembered from my youth. The silly bright wall art was the icing on the nostalgia cake for me. read more

Came to Old School skate night with a group of friends this past Wednesday. Another great night of silly fun on roller skates. Great music, wonderful staff, best two hours full of laughs. If you're looking for some 80s-90s fun, this is the spot! The decor will send you back in time! There's a snack bar area, lockers and benches to relax. They play good/fun music to skate to. Don't worry about falling or being too slow, everyone is really nice and not everyone is a pro-skater haha ALSO there's a skate park behind the building which is amazing! I'm sure they do birthdays and other events but I'm not sure what packages they offer. My only complaint is how HOT the building is. They must not have any sort of AC. Felt like the heat was on. Definitely effected how much time I spent actually skating. read more

Excellent FUN night on Wednesday evenings. Lights are great, music is great (Hip Hop/disco), skaters are FUN and respectable to each other, caring for one another as the skate goes on. Lots of entertainment in the "center". I have a GREAT time. * I would ADVISE to go at a slow to MEDIUM pace, however, since the FLOORS really NEED to be SANDED and evened out, BUFFED and re-glazed. I was definitely UNEASY on the uneven worn floor. There was no high speed skating for me. read more

As I walked into the building, I was suddenly thrust back to 1992- my hair was badly permed, my pants were corduroy and my T-shirt reached my knees. Luckily, my toddler son took the dazed look in my eyes as an opportunity to take off, and I was thrust back in the present, while the building and amenities remained firmly in the past. This is the roller rink of your youth, just with a MMA ring stuck awkwardly in the middle and bounce houses jerking with the movements of under supervised kids in the background. The food is the same, the choice between clunky skates and roller blades is the same, the video games are the same (some, literally, as they have not been updated in some time) and the chicken dance on skates is the same cringe worthy experience. One thing that makes this 4 stars for me then is that I loved all of these things when I was a kid, and now expect nothing more or less from my local dimly lit roller rink. The other thing that made this a 4 star experience was our birthday party for our 9 year old daughter. This was the first year she wanted to invite boys (what is happening in my life??) and we wanted something to appeal to all of the kids. We upgraded to the most expensive package, and for around $200 we got 4 hours of skating, two hours of bounce house, 30 tokens per kid, glow necklaces for each kid, goody bags (God, how I loathe goody bags) for each kid, pizza and three pitchers of drinks as well as two hours with a hostess to help us out. It went fairly smoothly, even though most kids had never skated before in their life. Plus, by the end, my daughter ended up with hundreds of game tickets and got a huge blow-up hammer, which is really the mark of a successful party. I am sure we will be back, either for parties or just to watch my kids attempt to skate in circles to their hearts content. Hopefully, we won't have to deal with the drama of the "couples skate" for a couple of years though. I am not ready. read more

It was our first time here, we had our daughters birthday here. The kids enjoyed the skating and games. The building was hot like a sauna, everyone was complaining. Recommend investing into AC or fans. The pop was flat, the host was nice and exchanged it for new flavors per apparently that was how their pop tasted. It tasted stale and flat, idk if their machines are dirty? If not cheap product? The prize we paid was crazy high it included skate time, pop and only 8 slices of pizza. Pretty crazy high prizes. The appearance of the building on outside could be more appealing, inside was neat and cool looking. The Men's bathroom smelled like raw sewage. Inside could use some housekeeping. Host was nice, kids had fun and all around we would give it 2 stars. It needs some improvements and better packages for money. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could. If you have young kids DO NOT GO HERE!!! As someone who used to frequent rainbow as a kid, I was really excited to introduce my kids to the world of skating - $40 later, my husband hadn't even had time to put his blades on when our crying toddler (we have a 2 and 4 yr old) declared she was way to terrified to skate. We tried talking to her, hyping it up, but it was just not happening. We decided to just leave, and while my husband took the kid's skates off, I went right back to the girl that cashed me out ($40, don't forget) just 5-10mins prior. Only to be notified that they don't do refunds for any reason because there is no way to tell if we just gave our skates to someone else. I assure you that we will try skating with our kids again, but I promise you WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO RAINBOW RINK!!! read more

In general the kids had a great time that's what matters. However the the lady in front was so rude it just put a damper on my mood . She's older with short dirty blonde hair. Omg I asked for a wrist band she didn't even speak say hi what do you need anything. Then when she had the wrist band I was occupied with my daughter for a minute she had to wait I apologized and she gave me the nastiest look and said we'll pay attention ! Went to Rainbow Rink for Queen City Roller Derby open. What a cute rink!! I thought I was having a flash back to the early 80's when the family outing consisted of going to Skateland, they had neon on the walls, disco balls, and the familiar rink smell...trippy, but trippy good! The space was very limited for the event and I felt they oversold the space, definitely didn't feel up to fire code but a good time none the less. I definitely want to go back and skate, I just don't want to catch any 'bows! read more

When was a kid in the seventies, this place had still not caught up with the times and gotten a dj. The still had a live organist who played waltzes and stuff. We didn't like it as much as United Skates of America in those days, but what I would give to walk into a place like that now! read more
