Met up here for some beer drinkin' and axe throwing on a week night, and it was just fine for those types of things. There are other activities that I didn't participate in, such as Airsoft, arcade games, and darts, but other folks used those and seemed like they enjoyed themselves. Don't blink or you may miss it ! Buffalo Battleground is located by the 290 interchange/ Niagara Falls Blvd across from Bob Evans . This is a great mini arcade and bar . The interior is spacious and clean with a nice bar that is tucked back from the kids action . This barcade features 4 lanes of duck pin bowling , many of the games you would find at a familiar kids pizza and game spots , I think it would make a great birthday party location for school age kids . There seems to be an upper level seating area that I am guessing is designated for that purpose . Service was friendly , the aps we ordered were great , particularly enjoyed the loaded tater tots . You will also find darts , Foosball , pool and axe throwing ! Before we left we tried the mini escape room which was fun to do with our 9 year old. There is an ATM near the bar and it is worth noting that instead of printed tickets , points get loaded onto a card for redemption. Buffalo Battleground is the place to go when you Want to have some adult fun but are without a sitter for the kids , but it's also just a great place for adults to come for darts , food and drinks . The sign does not match the interior. I had no idea that his was an arcade and laser tag establishment. I just read the "Buffalo Battleground" on the sign and assumed it was an army apparel shop or a gun shop. Walking through the front door there are the arcade games and mini bowling to the left. My 4 and 5 year old had a blast mini bowling and we played a few arcade games after. There is also laser tag, axe throwing, and a bar and restaurant toward the back. Ticket prizes were expensive and of course like every arcade, kind of lame. One small one piece of candy was 50 tickets. My friends and I had a great experience at Buffalo Battleground. We reserved a lane for axe throwing and arrived a little before our reservation time to order food and drinks. We were glad we did because they very much keep you to your 1-hour time in the lane. (Not a problem in our eyes - we respect that others also wanted to throw) We went up to the bar to place our order and everything was promptly brought out to our table. I had a salad and my husband had a burger. both were tasty and the fries that came with were cooked PERFECTLY. Beers are beers - cold and refreshing. We had an attendant to help us throughout our throwing session and she was great to give tips and encouragement. This is a great place for laser tag especially. They provide all the equipment and the actual arena is a big space. It's cold in there but you get warm running around. They have airsoft too, you can add on a starter package with all the equipment necessary or bring you own if you have it. Had our first experience at BBG. Overall bad customer service is the issue. Between the event we paid for, food and drinks we spent $160 for an hour of entertainment. We had a gift card, (virtual) which had extra money on it after what we reserved, they would not honor it. If fact they accused us of making it up. Bar service was slow and unresponsive. If the "man" went up it was quick. When the woman went up, two others were served before her. Half the beer and food was not even available, the ordering app was not available and overall the staff was not available. What we did was fun, and the person monitoring us was good. Compare that to when we first walked in we were told to go to the area and 15 minutes later we knew what to do. If we had a good experience we would have spent more, maybe add another hour. They were almost empty at the time, the people working there would have earned more. Customer service is key to a place like this, you must have the food, drinks and atmosphere expected. read more

Showed up at around 12:30 pm on a Sunday. There was hardly anyone there, and we got there at the right time, as the Bills games was starting. The set up on how to play games is a little confusing. We went for a half hour of snook, which is a combo of soccer and billiards, and 40 credits. It came to $20.00. There was a $10 fee for the snook and $10 for the 40 credits, which we got for mini bowling. The person at the counter explained things well. There was a party of children just finishing up and we hardly encountered them. Snook was a fun game. Would be a lot more fun with a couple more players. You can play in your street shoes. For mini bowling, you had to swipe the card on the lanes, and it is 12 credits per person to play or $3.00. The games are 5 frames and extremely fun. You can also play this in your street shoes. We had a few extra credits to use up and played a shooting game, which was fun, and skee-ball, which was also fun. The one lane didn't work, and we got what we payed refunded, so we could play the one skee-ball lane that worked. This is a fun place on a wintry day. Check it out. We came here for my nephew's birthday a few weeks ago and overall it was a decent experience. Their prices are reasonable and they don't have as many arcade games as bigger attractions, but it's enough to still have some fun. I ordered some habanero chicken wings based off previous reviews and they weren't bad. I'm not a fan of "jumbo" wings so I didn't eat them all, but they tasted good and were nice and crispy. Had the best time!! Ive been wanting to do Hatchets & Hops for the longest time. Didnt know it was offered here until both locations for Hatchet & Hops was either closed or booked. Buffalo Battleground popped up as they offer axe throwing as well. I just always assummed this place was for kids...it is not-yes the arcade and maybe laser tag seemed like it was VERY kid oriented but the axe throwing was not (you have to be a certain age anyways to participate) Reserved a group of 9 online, they required a $80 deposit...paid the rest at the end of the nite when we got there. Walked in, was greeted and instructed how everything would go. They went over the Covid protocols. Yes you must wear a mask while throwing...same rules as bars/restaurants-can remove when seated. The instructor went in depth how to throw and gave us tips along the way. Practice rounds then there was a bracket competition. I had the best time and will be back again!!! (I just came from dinner so I was not hungry) You must order food with drinks due to state laws right now BUT they offered a pretzel stick for $1....which was very tastey! When I say don't judge a book by its cover...this place doesn't look like much from the outside, but when you walk in its a really nice place. They have an arcade, which can use a little more games. We ordered some food and played some arcade games before laser tag session. All the food we ordered was really good. Only thing is there is no free refills for drinks you have to pay an additional dollar. We ordered our tickets online and signed the waivers ahead of time to avoid the wait. The laser tag here is 10 times better than Lasertron. We all had a blast. It was also a good workout the sessions are 1 hour long with about 5 to 10 minutes of instruction time. My sons received a gift card for their birthday. Our experience was mixed overall. My boys didn't experience any issues with the laser tag equipment. The only frustration was related to teams, and nothing to fault the facility for. The setup looked pretty cool. They had fun until one felt ganged up on during the free for all at the end. Mini bowling wasn't quite what I expected. You have to charge credits separately for each player instead of playing a flat rate for a game like the website indicated. Plus it was unclear you needed to swipe more than once in a lane to play against each other for that lane. It's also very short, like 4 or 5 rounds. We didn't try the pool/hockey game. I expected both the mini bowling and the pool to be separate areas but they are a part of the arcade, which is smaller than I expected. The arcade games also caused some frustration. The bike and car games had customizing options, but instructions were unclear and it was timed so one son became upset with the avatar he had to use. It just seemed unnecessarily convoluted. Air hockey is easily the best value in the arcade at four credits per game total. The bar and restaurant weren't really running when we arrived at 12:30 pm. They didn't even have much ice in the bar when I got water (thankfully free) for one of my sons because the fountains didn't work. We left around 3 and I'm not sure if they were serving food yet. That said, the place seemed pretty clean and well kept apart from the drinking fountains. It wasn't a bad experience, just not a great first impression. read more

This is a review for the airsoft portion of the site. I attended 2 hours of gameplay on 10-16-2021. Overall, the gameplay was good and athletically driven. If you want your money's worth, you need to involve yourself physically, as it can be rigorous. There are some glaring issues, with special notes on refereeing and gear check. I'm going to start with gear. Personal gear DEFINITELY needs to be checked by a qualified staff member. Several of my friends, who attended with me, were hit by BBs being fired from a gun that was WAY too hot. THEIR welts from those BBs are SIGNIFICANTLY worse than from BBs firing 350 or less (and I know, because I shot one of them and we checked). No one chronographed gear and I suspect that the culprit(s) was/were using HPA firing near 500 fps, definitely over 400. So please, enforce that fps limit, or else why even advertise it. Second, there were refereeing issues. Specifically, referees need to be more heavy handed in enforcing the rules. They are quite passive and defer more to what seems to be the regulars. Friendliness was good to see, but the lack of confident assertion and a keen eye to rule breakers ruins the fun for most people. These things most definitely need to be addressed. A few smaller issues: team markings need to be WAY more evident. Buy some glow sticks or glow rings to attach to a team to prevent friendly fire. Low lighting can be dissuading to newer players and friendly fire is abundant when players don't acquaint themselves with other people's clothing. A gameplay revision suggestion: smaller group sizes. A 30-player game is definitely crowded. Definite divisions in smaller, quicker matches (A, B, C style rotational games) would be more fun, would give players more space to work with, and would give players an opportunity to address issues without the confusion of 20+ other people still running around shooting like madmen. read more

I purchased a Groupon to try laser tag at this place, and everyone had a great time. The place is huge to run around in, and compared to Lasertron everyone agreed BB is waaaay better. For starters you only need to use a headgear/headband here instead of the clunky vest, and the gun is much lighter. *Be advise the props are real here compared to the plastic set up at Lasertron so I don't recommend for little kids. The Groupon was for an hour. At one point someone in my party needed to use the bathroom and they didn't cut our time short even though there was another group waiting. Side notes: - even without the Groupon this place is still cheaper than Lasertron so I definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're looking to play laser tag. - they've a hallway near the bar/food area for parties with a coin operated foosball machine. read more

I was able to try out the laser tag today after a recommendation from a friend who had been here for airsoft. Once ready to play we sat in on an instruction video with a kid who seemed less enthused about his job. In the arena the kid gave out the guns and picked the teams (which did not seem random at all) and did 7 against 5. He claimed this was fair because the two extra on the other team were kids. This entire game our team of 5 was killed back to back every time. I honestly don't think adults have any advantage in this game against 10 -12 year olds After the first game that we lost by a lot they did not switch up the teams despite us clearly voicing how we felt it wasn't even . We also felt the equipment was not reading a lot shots. I would clearly be a foot from someone shooting them and nothing happened. It just seemed really one sided which took away a lot of the fun in this activity. Just comparing to lasertron I'd rather go back to lasertron instead on Battlegrounds. They seem better organized and at least the teams are randomly selected. I did find the feel of the place cool and definitely a fun spot for kids since they have a Dave and busters type arcade inside. read more

We went yesterday afternoon for a group outing to play laser tag. This place was definitely not what I expected, in more ways than one. From the road this place kind of looks like an abandoned warehouse, not much going on. When you get in though you'll quickly see this couldn't be much further from the truth. Arcade games everywhere, mini-bowling, and even a "bar and grill" await you inside. After seeing the facilities, I was much more excited about playing laser tag, thinking it would be a great experience. This is where I was wrong again. We get into the briefing room to watch the instruction video and talk to the referee and it just couldn't have been more clear he didn't want to be there. I get that not everyone is excited to be at work on a Saturday but this kid was clearly miserable and made no attempt to hide it. We went from the briefing area to the arena and he randomly picked our teams for us. We were allowed no input and he stacked the teams 5v7. Why we couldn't play 6v6, I have no idea. We then proceeded to get absolutely slaughtered for the next 5 games or so (I was on the team with 5) while the ref sat in a corner and texted paying no attention to us. Seems like it would have been a good idea to mix up the teams at some point, but I guess that wasn't in the cards. At one point he did switch up game modes to play something called domination that involved shooting boxes and controlling zones on the battlefield. Problem was that half the equipment didn't seem to work. I'm usually pretty good at games like this (aim wise) but I couldn't seem to hit anything. At one point I shot 30+ bullets into one of these boxes from maybe 5-8 feet away and somehow didn't capture it. When we complained about sensors not working we were just told by the kid refereeing to aim better. Overall this wasn't a great experience and I probably wouldn't go back for laser tag again, hopefully the air soft thing is more fun? I gave them a 2 at least because they had nice facilities and the arcade games looked fun, although extremely expensive. read more

My friends and I get together on a monthly basis and do a fun group outing. Each month a different member of our group plans the event, and this past event was laser tag here. The arena was really cool- definitely a step up from your basic Lasertron principle where you hide behind little pillars. And what was really cool is that each game has an objective, so you are not walking around just trying to storm the other teams base. I was lucky and ended up with two little kiddos on my team as well, they have energy that I do not know at this ripe age of 29. It was $18 for multiple games (I think four?) and was very worth it. The only problems I noted were some friends guns and head pieces malfunctioned. Tips: Fill out the waiver online before you go You're gonna wanna strip down to base layers. It gets real sweaty up in there. They also have air soft! read more

A group of us drove up to Buffalo, NY just to try this field out for the day! The prices were fair if you want to play all day! They have a arcade up front, a small bar and food area in the back and a store and airsoft in the back. The rule of having your mask on in the staging area was too much. It's very hard to breath in the masks and while it may be a safety precaution, it's only protecting from people that mis-fire in the staging area as there is a hallway and door that separates you from playing area. I was suffocating in the mask and it was having a reaction to my skin so was very uncomfortable and hard to breath, and foggy to stay in the mask in the staging area and on the field. Almost every player we spoke too thought the same; so maybe take this as feedback to try to re-think another way to apply safety and allow people to feel relaxed in the prep area. The field itself was pretty cool! It was concrete with great space to run and hide. Not a very slid-able field, but if you have the right kneepads I saw some players getting away with it. The day crowd was mostly new players and they were awesome to play with. The night crowd was regulars and they played rough and made it very unfun to play with. The 'refs' used sleds as shields which was funny to watch. They also were really bad a communicating rules of games and they would often forget where they even hid the 'breifcase'. They didn't play but one of two types of games which was just shoot the other team or find the briefcase. So due to the hyperventilation of the mask after a handful of games I was forced into the bar area just so I could take my mask off. The drinks are well priced and you can see some of the airsoft field (all glass wall but has reflection of the bar and store so you have to get close to the glass to see the game play). It was hard to find workers at the Bar as they were pretty scares or in huddle groups talking to one another. Later on in the night after about 6 hours of game play, I decided to take my chance with playing the arcade. It seemed like all the games I choose were breaking and it took a while to find anyone to come 'help' fix the equipment. After about the 4th time asking someone to fix another game I gave up on the arcade and returned to bar to wait for the rest of my group to finish playing. Overall this is a great place to go play a game or two. They have different things there to entertain you. Definitely more of a family friendly place and definitely more staffed during mid day. read more

A Grown-up play land!! We walked in the front door and we were instantly excited! Arcade games in mega sizes were everywhere!! We were greeted by a very nice young man and given information on the "deal" that had that night on axe throwing. We were elated as that's what we came to do. We sat at the bar and waited a few minutes to be greeted. The drinks were very good. Great selection of on-tap and bottled beer as well as liquor. We ordered wings and a French onion soup. The wings were warm and seemed like they had been sitting a while. The sauces were great! The soup was served with croutons when we asked for none. The server apologized and within minutes we had the correct order. The French onion soup was incredible!! Then it was time to throw axes. This was really fun and exciting!! We got several bulls eyes which lead to the ringing of the cowbell. After all, we "need more cowbell"!! I highly recommend Buffalo Battleground for a fun night out with older teens and adults. We took the kids (10+12) to Buffalo Battleground because my Groupon was about to expire in 1 day! They always have offers from Groupon and they are worth it. It included $40 in arcade games, 8 games of bowling etc. AIRSOFT and LASER TAG are not included. I knew that but I didn't know the times were for AIRSOFT is 5pm-9pm. Laser tag was $46.00 for 2 ppl. Andrew was very nice and professional. He answered all my questions for parties, games and combos to gwt more bang for my buck! Andrew was juggling a few jobs with ease, I was impressed. I told him so, He said "its my job, no problem!" While under construction and writing this post the staff/construction crew had to turn off certain sections of electricity was turned off when the kids were about to play with 15 other customers. No one seemed bothered about the false start. Andrew immediately came over and apologized to me and gave complimentary arcade game cards to us until they have a handle on the electric problem. I'm pretty mellow right now because the kids are like SCORE, FREE ARCADE MONEY! I'd rather everyone be safe than electrocuted that includes construction! The bathrooms are clean. This place is spacious and has video games for all ages. They have a backroom for parties. Also a Hatchet area to have a hatchet go flying to a wooden Bullseye! Drove all the way here for a date because of the sign that's out front saying free axe throwing on Wednesdays 6-8pm with $10 food purchase, but then there's a second sign up saying no free throwing because of a 6 year old birthday party. So most of the attractions were closed, including paid axe throwing. No darts available either due to them being unplugged. The arcade was open but swarmed with kids and no bowling was open to the public. So takeaway, call first to ensure they are open to the public, and they really should do parties that close everything down on off times. No one was eating there which spoke to the food quality. I come here for airsoft and laser tag and have to say the the laser tag experience has degraded each time ive come. To start, it doesn't look like they use the Callsign app anymore. Secondly, Our referee looked and sounded like he hated his job and didnt want to be there. Half the equipment didnt work and when we asked the ref he said it does, we just have to "aim better." The next game we met in one of the rooms and took turns "headshotting" each other to see if it really did. Out of 3 people, we could not get any of our headpieces to register a hit. Some headsets displayed the proper team color, others displayed a variety of colors, and some displayed nothing. The end game results registered the wrong team winning half the time too. Buffalo Battleground used to switch up the teams so you played with new people, i guess thats a thing of the past too. Is your team getting spawn camped?? "Aim better." One hour of play and we did 2 Team Deathmatch, 1 Domination, and 3 Free-For-All. Not much variety, especially when some people even asked to play infection, and the ref would rather aimlessly slouch around the arena ignoring us. Overall, i do not think its worth $20 for 1 hour when most the gear doesn't work, and when you ask about it you're told to "Aim Better." read more

Airsoft reservations system stinks. My son and his friend made reservations at the same time and one got in the 6pm and one ended up in the 8pm slot. I immediately called last night and the recording tells you to use their website for issues. Called a few times and still no one answers the phone. Left another email/text and still no response, so as soon as they opened today I started calling and still no one answered til about 1:40pm and the guy who answered told me the 8pm session is full and it's MY job to request it 24 hours in advance when we didn't even book it 24 hours in advance. He refused to switch it to next weekend or anything and told me I'm out the $37.00 because he will do nothing to help. My 14 year old will NOT go alone there! We will never be back! We went here to do AirSoft. They ask that you get here a minimum of 15mins before your reservation but we didn't even get our gear and set up until a half hour AFTER our reservation. We didn't get into the field until about 45mins after our reservation time and we did not make up the time at the end. Everybody is wearing the same color vest so it's extremely hard to know who is and who is not on your team. The thin piece of orange tape with the weak adhesive is not enough of a symbol and it does not stay on throughout your whole reservation, it barely stays on for the first round. They should get helmets with anti fog because mine kept fogging up and I couldn't see on multiple occasions. The experience itself wasn't bad but improvements definitely need to be made as far as starting on time and having different colored vest to help signify teams. read more

Kids took a break from laser tag and had some delicious pizza and wings. One of the owners came to check on us . I was waiting for the staff at a desk where they sell various airsoft stuff like bbs,guns, and other stuff.The staff was very rude and left me waiting at the counter for 20 min.On top of the staff being rude the staff that sold me my airsoft gun outright lied to me. The staff member said that the gun was a very good airsoft gun and takes any kind of airsoft m4 mag well that was a lie. First of all the gun was awful compared to other airsoft guns it couldn't hit any thing from 5ft away. The gun also got very hot.The gun also did not work with 50% of the m4 mags I tried even tho the staff said it would. I had a blast and will be back. I bought a Groupon for four people to enjoy lasertag for an hour. The building is pretty neat. There's a bar - which screams bachelor party. Or if you bring your screaming kids you have a place for salvation. There are windows lining the entire play area for watching. The two guys hosting us were very hospitable. They got us ready really fast. I was surprised the four of us had free reign over the entire play area. Luckily we missed playing with an entire pee wee hockey team. The equipment is very simple. You have a head band. Which is one of the targets you use to aim at for a kill. Its very light and adjustable. By the time you get running around you forget its even on your head. The gun is pretty stellar (and expensive). It has an LED screen to show stats. Easy reload button. It tells you when you die and need to head back to base to respawn. It even has a scope. My suggestion if you play here is to really use the scope. Aiming directly at the opposing players headband or gun is essential. The "battleground" is really cool. Upper & lower level wooden buildings to hide in. We were never discouraged from running. There was smoke and the cheesy Call of Duty style announcements. Be careful of the scheduling through. Lasertag rotates with airsoft. Check their website before making the trip. read more

A lot of restaurants claim to have the best wings in town but Buffalo Battleground is a hidden gem! I had the Garlic Parm and Mango Habernero! Came here with a group of 9 to play lasertag on a Sat afternoon. We made a reservation a few weeks in advance which does require a $100 deposit. You can choose to have a table set up and food afterwards but we didn't. I believe there is also a bar but we did not use that either. When we first walked in, I was surprised to see arcade games similar to Dave and Buster's. But we had our scheduled session so we went to the back to check in. Our instructor took us back and we watched a 2 min video on how to play. He did not seem very happy to be there instructing us. There were multiple things incorrect in the video and after it he listed off various things for us not to do. It really did not amp us up for the experience but rather left us wondering and unsure... After we went into the area to play, looking around it was really cool!! Spacious with many props like barrels, vehicles, and rooms to go in and out of. The instructor just manually picked our teams how he felt. He chose to put 5vs7 bc there were two children. I say that's actually the opposite of fair, these 12 year old kids were much better at this game compared to 30yos just out for an afternoon. Well I was on the team without the children and we got crushed!! Every time. My boyfriend has played here multiple times with his friends, he said they usually switch up the teams. He asked the instructor if we could and he said no. One of the kids specially asked for a certain game, infection, and the instructor said no. Once we were playing the 2nd "free for all" round, 2 of my friends and I wanted to test our equipment because it all seemed it wasn't working right. I took my headpiece off and my bf shot it directly repeatedly which did not work. Then vice versa and the same thing. But our third friend when we shot hers directly it did kill her as it was supposed to. We told the instructor and his response was "you need to aim better". The one game the object was to shoot a few little boxes that were placed around, during the middle of the game the instructor moved the box from the original spot to in between where all the spare guns and headpieces were. So it was lit up just like those and you couldn't even notice it, or know where he moved it to randomly. Overall it seemed pretty unorganized, not easy to understand what we were supposed to do or what we may have been doing wrong, and we received no real guidance. I have played lasertag at lasertron multiple times so throughout my experience here that is what I was comparing it to naturally. I like this venue, their props, look and feel, and equipment more but outside of that I'd choose to actually go play and believe I'd have much more fun at Lasertron. Here the employees were not as energetic, encouraging, or helpful and the functionality of the equipment was seriously lacking where it made it more frustrating than anything.
