Sold me 2 gbb airsoft magazines for the airsoft rifle I was purchasing figuring their airsoft guy knew enough to do the job he was hired for. They were not compatible. I drove 2 hours back to the store with the rifle to demonstrate how things did not "line up" and to do so would damage the bolt thus voiding the warranty (PTS Radian Model 1). Their tech (Calls himself "The Witch Doctor") took it out back to confirm. He did, but his poor weapon handling drills engaged the mag release causing it to hit pavement, breaking the feed lips and he pretended like nothing happened. Regardless, it became my problem as they refused to rectify the situation. Ordering online from them makes Aliexpress seem like Amazon Prime, but as a medically released Canadian Forces veteran, I had nothing but time so the commute to the store became a regular thing and I always made large purchases. This is just one of many issues I've had in the years I did business with them, my mental state was just not in a good enough place at the time to know any better. The only good thing I can say about them is that the store actually does have a great selection of rare items, but they ruin that fact by lying about stock on their website. read more

The product I ordered was listed as "in stock," but after placing the order I was informed it was actually discontinued and unavailable. Instead of issuing a refund, the merchant attempted to push a replacement product. I clearly requested cancellation and a full refund multiple times, but my requests were not addressed. Communication became increasingly poor, and eventually the merchant stopped responding altogether. No item was ever shipped, and no tracking information was provided. I was left with no choice but to open a dispute with my payment provider to prevent further charges. This lack of transparency, combined with poor communication and failure to process a refund, made the entire experience frustrating. ordered a Canadian Army surplus sunglasses. I wash shipped a worn out frame that will not hold the lenses, the lenses have rub marks and deep scratches and the case is crushed and well used. Ordered airsoft parts, listed as IN STOCK, after my order sat is "awaiting fulfillment" for 2 weeks, I asked about it and turns out parts of the order were backordered. They answered promptly and offered an additional 10% store credit, so I thought I'd give them another chance and place another order for similar parts. Again, my order sits as "awaiting fulfillment" for two weeks, so I decide I've had enough and ask for it to be cancelled. Turns out Hero is "unable to cancel an order after it is placed" (when that was exactly what was done on my first order) and I'm sent a link to their shipping & return policy. Please don't make the same mistake I did and give Hero Outdoors the benefit of the doubt. They are dishonest, don't actually stock the products they advertise, and hide behind a draconian refund policy so they can take your money and give nothing in return. I ordered 2 matching items on the Hero Outdoors website (Canada). They shipped one thing within a month. When I asked about the second item, they promised to send it soon. At this point I was waiting for 1.5 months (45 days) for the entire order to be shipped. It is useless to write to their customer support/Facebook/Instagram accounts as they simply don't answer. Today, after tons of messages from.my side, they refunded the unshipped item (yes, I figured out that it wasn't shipped at all even if the status of my order informed that it was shipped) but refused to refund the first item even though I ask for a return ticket. I don't need any item without another, it is like getting one shoe instead of the pair. It is useless. It us the worst shopping experience I've ever had. I'm adding yet another identical complaint about Hero Outdoors. I made an order on 10 May, 2021. 10 days later the order was still listed as "awaiting fulfillment". I had considered purchasing another item from them and received what was likely an automated email "you left something in your cart". At that point I emailed them and asked about my original order, asking if it's their practice to take payment for items they don't have in stock. I have received no response what so ever. I have emailed several times, called during business hours several times and they are completely non-responsive. I have just gotten off the phone with Mastercard who are initiating an investigation and will issue a temporary refund, giving Hero an opportunity to appeal. Its astounding that they have complaints about this exact issue for years and Mastercard still allows them an account. When I see three pages of identical 1 star reviews (I'm guessing we all wish there was a zero star option), and then two 5/5 star reviews, I smell bull shit. You order items, they acknowledge receipt of the on-line order, only to receive a quick email afterwards stating that the items are not in stock and asking you if you want to buy anything else. Is this some sort of a joke? Who's maintaining the stock? Not to mention that I called ahead just before placing the order only to talk to a clerk that explained to me that she cannot check the stock and the only way is for me to order and find out afterwards. Very dishonest staff. Ordered and item online and was told that it was in stock. It was not. It had to be shipped from an "overstock" facility. It took 4 weeks. I called to cancel and was told that it was in the shipping department and that I would be provided a tracking number that day. I was provided a number because they created one with Canada Post but never shipped the item. When the item finally arrived, 7 weeks after I ordered it, it came with a completely different tracking number. Creating a tracking number to keep me from cancelling the order and telling me it was shipped that day was incredibly deceitful. Specifically asked when I ordered them that they make sure the sizes match as sometimes people wash them and throw them in a dryer and shrink them. Got 2 marked Size 12 but one fits like an 11. Their solution - order a 2nd pair for 1/2 price and I eat the delivery - again. So first pair delivered was 40 bucks and 2nd pair would be 30. NO &&%*% way! I'll never deal with these ________ again. Bought Fat 50 ammo cans online from them. They arrived and one can's locking tab ear was too beat up to even close the lid. Zero response trying to contact them through email about why a "nice condition" can can't close properly, even months later. Eventually I bashed it together myself with a hammer, but that shouldn't happen with a 50 dollar ammo can. Also it still can't hold any weight or be bumped because the lid will just flop open as it still will not over-centre. It was my first experience with them and it will be my last it took them only a big 27 days to put my order in the mail, this is unnacceptable, sadly for them they failed with their first impression to client and there was another item I needed but decided to buy from another site instead of them. Terrible online retailer. This online retailer does not stock what shows available on their web site. They will then charge your credit card not on shipment but on order, and hold your funds until they see fit. I ordered (3) items on 1/19. They immediately charged my card and responded via email and stated two of the items were out of stock. I asked them to cancel the entire order as the one item I really needed was not in stock, and didn't want to pay shipping on only one item. No response. Emailed again. No response. Called their customer service multiple times over the next two weeks and either stayed on hold indefinitely or the phone rang indefinitely. Finally initiated a credit card dispute with my bank and evidently only when they received the bank dispute inquiry on 3/15 they shipped the one item and refunded the balance of the unshipped items. They do not accept returns or exchanges on any online orders. So I was stuck paying shipping charges that almost equaled the value of the one item that shipped. I have ordered items 6 or 7 times over the last couple of years. In each case I have received the correct items in a timely fashion. A couple of the surplus clothing items had some wear, but were servicable. I contacted customer service once with a question about sizing and got quick and knowledgeable answers.
