My toddler always gets excited whenever we cross paths with Mister Softee NorCal. This truck offers classic soft serve via cones, sundaes, and milkshakes. Toppings include sprinkles, nuts, crushed oreos. There is also chocolate, caramel, butterscotch, pineapple, cherry and strawberry sauce. With pricing ranging between $4.25 and 8 bucks, this sweet treat doesn't break the bank. Service is friendly. Mister Softee comes recommended for people of all ages. If you are lucky enough to have this truck roll through your neighborhood or see it drive around your local park, do not hesitate to give them a try!!
Booking was very easy. They respond pretty fast. I started the booking back in January for my son's graduation party in June. I was unsure how busy they would get, so it was better to be safe than sorry. I spoke with Andrew regarding details of the booking & what came with the services. He explained the whole menu was available & they can serve up to 70 people in 1 hour. That sounded perfect. I decided to move forward with the reservation & you can either pay a deposit or the full amount. The day of the event, the truck arrived early & I was able to talk to the driver regarding details. I did notice more than half the menu was crossed off but didn't ask about it. Then when it was time to serve my guests, they all told me a lot of the items on the menu weren't available. The only thing offered to my guest were soft serve in a cone or cup with toppings. Sundaes, banana splits, & floats weren't an option. My son asked the driver why & she said all she had were toppings. I called the next day after our event & spoke with Andrew again. He apologized for the mixup & it was a miscommunication with the driver & dispatch. He also explained, sometimes they do limit the menu to ensure guest are served in a timely manner. That is fine with me, but it was not communicated. He said he would look into it further and get back to me. I ended up writing an email as a follow up, and Andrew finally got back to me. They were able to accommodate a partial refund due to the issue on their end. Overall they have great service & my guests were happy but it was the expectation vs what was actually delivered. I will book with them again in the future in hopes we have a better experience.
One of the best soft serves ever! I had Mister Softee during a game at the Chase Center and this was phenomenal. For $11, it's definitely steep for ice cream, let alone soft serve, but well worth it! The portion is quite generous so it can definitely be shared. An unreal sweet treat.
First time trying this and it was delicious. I asked for a milkshake with Oreos and they asked if I wanted vanilla or chocolate. I have been hearing great things about Mister Softee and was excited I was finally able to try it!
Caught the Mister Softee truck outside Palo Alto Medical and decided to treat myself after a lab appointment. Great decision. The Chocolate Nut Sundae was everything you want from classic soft serve -- smooth texture, generous chocolate syrup, and a satisfying crunch from the nuts. Simple, nostalgic, and perfectly executed. Quick service, friendly vibe, and honestly a bright spot in the middle of a medical day. Would absolutely grab it again.
Excuse the half eaten picture of the cherry sundae - but it looked so good I had to dig in immediately. I was visiting Don Biddle park when I heard the ice cream truck playing. I thought I was a regular truck at first, but was pleasantly surprised to see soft serve! My kids loved seeing the cones being dipped. The cashier/service was super nice and patient with my order (I had 4 children with me). Cups/cones are about $5/each. And they were delicious. I'm following them on IG so I can be sure to catch them again!
Mister Softee is such a neighborhood staple nowadays. The moment you hear that familiar jingle, you know you're in for a classic soft-serve treat done right. Whether it's a sundae or a perfectly blended milkshake, the quality is consistently spot-on. The app is a surprisingly great tool for tracking down the truck, and it almost feels like they know when you're following them because they're quick to stop and serve. The service is friendly, the favorites are dependable, and that unmistakable music makes every visit a simple, joyful experience. Mister Softee also offers private event bookings. I booked them for a birthday party, and all the kids were happy. Booking was easy and conveniently handled by submitting an online form, with clear confirmation and follow-up via email. A great experience for kids and adults alike!
Oh what a yummy ice cream this truck had and it was perfectly located outside the Pacifica Taco Bell Catina right by the shore. It was a beautiful sunny day to enjoy the ice cream after the gloomy and rainy Bay Area weather. Service was fast and prompt. It was like a cherry on top of our perfect Saturday adventure
Initial scheduling, confirmation reminders and flexibility was great. My party time shifted the morning of, when the Guest of Honor was delayed. I called Mister Softee and left a message. Someone returned my call within 5 min, I explained the issue and asked to push the arrival-start time 1 hour later. They checked their calendar and easily changed my time slot without issue or fees. I was very happy they could accommodate my change request, that ultimately made my party timeline flow better. Server arrived on time and everyone enjoyed their icecream treat.
My brother and I were on a mission to get mister softee. The first spot closed up before we arrived, and the second stopped serving ice cream even though it was only 8:30. We decided to try one last time and the third time was a charm. Using the app, we tracked a truck to a gas station. Kelsey was pumping gas and it was obvious she was done for the night. However, she went out of her way to help us and happily served us ice cream when I asked. She truly made our night--amazing customer service, and the ice cream was just as good!
The truck stopped in front of my place so I rushed out the door to get some soft serve! I got the Crunchie ($5), which is vanilla soft serve dipped in cookie/graham cracker crumbs. It was sweet, delicious, and a large portion. It's hard to track where the trucks are on the Mister Softee app - I have to rely on hearing the ice cream truck music. Maybe this particular truck isn't registered? Not sure how it works, but if you hear it nearby, do not miss your chance for a fun treat!
Had a party and hired a truck for a two hour service. It was a huge hit; so much so that I ended up making it an annual event. We'll be in year six in June. There are a lot of options to choose from and it's very affordable. I personally love the strawberry sundae. My kid loves the banana split. If you're looking for something simple, delicious, and appealing to a crowd, look here. read more
This is a review for their ice cream truck at the Niles Community Park. F O O D + Pineapple soft serve S E R V I C E + Friendly, helpful, and quick - I wish there was a way for us to tip after paying by card/NFC A M B I A N C E + Truck seemed clean + Easy to spot in the parking lot by the entrance of the park + Wasn't too crowded on a Saturday at 6pm Would highly recommend trying their soft serve and a stroll around the park. Looking forward to trying their cherry-dipped cone next time. Tip: They have several locations in the Bay Area at different times, so check their website! read more

Two years ago I first saw or hear of Mister Softee NorCal when I was in Daly City small neighborhood and the ice cream jingle was playing. I was wondering why small cities have nice ice cream trucks like this that goes into neighborhoods like this and San Francisco doesn't have a nice nostalgic ice cream truck like this! After researching I found there was an app I could download to see all the various frosty trucks that go around the Bay Area, mostly in the inside suburban areas where it is hot. For a while I have always been chasing the Mister Softee and got tired of it. I always wonder why it can't come toward me instead? Well I finally got my wish! As soon as my bus made a turn, I was we were right in back of Mister Frostee truck!! No way!! You have got to be joking! My dream truck right in front of me! As soon as I got off my bus stop, I said Wait come back! I am running after you! Will you stop maybe? Or are you out of ice cream? Then I thought oh great the light turned green and the odds the truck will stop so that I can catch up to it will likely not happen. Well I crossed the street by speedwalking toward the direction truck was going. It did happen to turn the corner out of my sight and I thought maybe I should run to see how fast down the block it would have zoomed by. Well lucky me it stopped about 20 feet in front of me and I yelled to the truck, so you have any ice cream left? The driver came to the window and said yes. Whoo hoo! I have scored big time! Now again hard part was to decide what to get since I have this right in front of me! I decided to get that unique cone where I can get vanilla Frostee on one side and chocolate on the other side. Yummy in my tummy! I told the guy thanks for stopping as I was getting off the bus screaming Frostee! :) Happy day for me! I was in Frostee heaven. read more

What a treat!! It was such a fun surprise to see and hear the ice cream truck right by our house tonight! And it isn't junkie ice cream bar "ice cream". It's DELICIOUS soft serve in a fresh cone, not some stale ancient pc of cardboard. We can't wait for the truck come back Thank you for coming to our town. The prices were very reasonable and I love they take Apple Pay too. read more

Sooooo good! Definitely worth it and highly recommend getting the NorCal Mister Softer app to track in real time. I got the vanilla soft serve dipped in chocolate. Very good, but messy. Don't try to eat in your car as it'll melt all over you! If you live in Martinez, the truck seems to come often so have the app handy because the truck has been at Hidden Valley Park and The Virginia Hills neighborhood the last few times I checked. read more
A wild ice cream truck appears! They always seem to be nearby but never when I can actually stop to buy something. We just happened to be walking around the Clement Farmers Market and I literally gasped once I heard the music coming from their truck. I guess some things just have to be found rather than searched for. The driver was super chill and let us customize our orders with what he could based off the menu. So cool that we still have such a nostalgic experience around. They accept cash or card (no tax!). read more

Such a special Friday lunch time treat at work. Was a request by a coworker to come to our location which was great but not so great to our security who had to deal with the disruption to the parking lot due to the long line forming. Ooops So delicious and creamy soft serve ice cream. I requested the sundae with nuts, Oreos, and chocolate syrup. It was overflowing and delicious in a cup. Actually enough for 3 people. read more
I heard from some other moms in the group of moms from my kids school that the ice cream from Mister Softee isn't that good. I'm sorry, I beg to differ. To be fair, I rarely eat ice cream. I really thought this ice cream was great. I got the Cherry Dip. I used to get the same kind of thing at Dairy Queen in Phoenix where I grew up. It was so good and a great blast from the past. Both my kids got Oreo Sundays. For the price you get a lot of ice cream and toppings. It was worth every calorie, every pound I gained, every cavity. I even forgot my lactose intolerance. We loved it. Next time we are even bringing the dog down to get a vanilla cone. read more

Yummmmmm! This Pineapple Sundae takes me back to Hawaii & Disneyland with its own unique creamy taste. I mixed it all after I took this photo & yes it taste very good. It was good timing when I heard their ice cream truck coming by because I didn't have ice cream in my fridge at the time & it was a hot day. So it really satisfied my cravings. Haha. read more

Bringing Mister Softee Norcal to our welcome dinner was a total win! Even though our spot was hidden deep in the redwoods, the driver found us without a fuss. Once he showed up, the party really started--the kids went wild for the ice cream truck, and let's be honest, so did the adults! Big thanks to Mister Softee Norcal for cruising out to our location and making our event a hit. If you want to add some cool and tasty fun to your next party, these are your guys! read more

A legit ice cream truck in the Bay Area. When you hear that song, you get a wave of nostalgia. I first had their ice cream when we had Nurses Week last year. I fell in love. The last two times I had it, the truck was at Seal Point Park where I usually do my cardio. I can't help but enjoy some ice cream if they're there. It's a food truck so it's quick service with friendly staff. You won't be disappointed by any of the choices. read more

This has become a running joke with my coworker. She will try to catch the truck in Livermore, while I will catch it in San Ramon. I've only had one thing: Vanilla cone, chocolate dipped with rainbow sprinkles. I should get out of my comfort zone, but why? The ice cream is soft serve, smooth texture and just plain good. Especially on a +90 day. read more

Awesome!! We had a crazy heatwave this past weekend. Was so thankful Mister Softee was serving our neighborhood TWO days in a row! I've been tracking Mister Softee for a few months by using their app. They usually have between 5-7 trucks serving the Bay Area. Got super lucky and found Mister Softee three blocks from our house. Hubby and I drove over. The line was short. I was hoping to get the double Softee but they were out of those specific cones. No biggie. I got a vanilla cone. Outstanding! Super creamy and decadent. Cone was fresh. Hubby got a pineapple sundae and loved it! We also got a banana split to put in the freezer for after dinner. Banana split was delish! Super old school vibes served with a whole yummy banana, vanilla soft serve and chocolate, cherry and pineapple topping. Was really nice to try a variety of flavors. 10/10. Hubby and I both agreed the creaminess of the soft serve was terrific. The overall price for what you get is very fair. The taste and flavor is premium quality and it didn't make me feel yucky afterwards. Service was solid, too. The gal working was quick and efficient. Hubby and I were so pleased with the experience when we saw Mister Softee back the next day we couldn't resist. This time, the truck had the special cones for the Double Softee, so I got that. WOW! Worth the wait. The chocolate was just as creamy as the vanilla without being heavy and sugary. The serving was huge, too. Hubby got the strawberry sundae. He enjoyed it very much. We were tempted to get another banana split because it was bomb but passed. Later that night we both agreed we should have splurged on the banana split. Next time, Mister Softee! Hope to see you again soon! read more

I've been wanting to try Mister Softee for a while now, and luckily, yesterday they were in my area (I used the app to track them down)! We tried catching the truck, but it kept moving.... and by the time we were able to get it to stop, we made a full circle and were almost back home lmao! We were super happy to catch the truck, but the girl working was not friendly whatsoever. We tried making conversation with her, but she was just not having it. Maybe had a bad day, but we could def tell she hated her job. We ordered two oreo crumble cones and were pretty happy - it was a bit messy, but so worth the chase! read more

I've come across this truck a couple of times and tried different things. They have a cherry dip cone flavor but couldn't try it when I first seen them since they were out so got the vanilla with Oreo and chocolate which is always classic and can't go wrong with that. The next time I came across them I finally got to try the cherry dipped cone and it was yummy as well, although it kept melting so it was a little messy! I also got to the try the soft serve with Oreo and you can't go wrong with that either. Great for the summer. The lady working was also always very nice and friendly ! read more
Thanks Mr. Softee for coming to my work place for employee appreciation day! I had a cone dipped in Oreo dust. So good! I've been wanting to try it since I saw pics from Yelp friends so I'm glad I had the opportunity to do so. I sent my mom a picture as she loves Dairy Queen and she told me that she's had Mr. Softee last week when they were in Piedmont. I noticed they are in Walnut Creek every Tuesday so I guess I'll have to find out where. Or not, as that may not be good for my wallet, lol. Regardless of whether or not I track them down every Tuesday, I loved their ice cream and look forward to trying more toppings in the future. read more

These trucks are hit and miss. Some are more generous than others which makes me think twice about stalking them on their app. It also bothers me that some drivers ask for tips and some don't. It was a fun activity to hunt them down during the summer but I just found one in Clayton and was disappointed with the lack of ice cream. The guy that works Concord on Friday is also not generous but the female on Monday is super generous (the size they should be) and very friendly. read more
