I heard the famous jingle while walking my dog around my neighborhood. I'd never seen or heard the Mister Softee truck around this area in Sunnyvale, and I hesitated a minute too long and let the truck drive by me. Well, later on our walk, I heard it again and decided I wouldn't let it pass me by this time! The worker inside was super friendly and answered the questions I had about the different toppings. I ordered the classic vanilla chocolate swirl. The worker offered my dog some vanilla as a treat, which was so kind of him! My dog and I enjoyed the ice cream while sitting on a curb, and it was absolutely delicious. It melts quickly, so don't forget to grab napkins! Also, huge bonus that they take Apple Pay because I don't carry my wallet during walks, and I'm still able to grab a cone while out with my pup! read more

I saw. I went, and ate. And...EH. Did I order the wrong thing? Was it just too hot for me to enjoy? We were at the pumpkin patch at Webb Ranch in Portola on a hot October Sunday morning. I saw the truck that I had heard so much about. We needed a cool treat even tho it wasn't even time for lunch yet (was before 11am) because it was piercing hot already. Hubs ordered his own cone and I ordered a simple vanilla in a cone with the chocolate shell. Since it was so hot so I had to eat it quickly since it was melting almost immediately. I wasn't wowed, but maybe I should've chose a different topping, like chocolate and strawberry or the Oreo dusted one. I like the concept and the guy was so friendly. If I spot Mr. Softee again, I'd give them another try but order something different. read more

I'm definitely impressed with the quality of the soft serve from this place. My workplace had a ice cream social to which they were serving. Definitely recommend for a nice cold desert on a hot day like today. normally, I would rate everything including the price but because the company paid for it, I can't really review the price, but I can only review the quality and the service and they're both A+. First off, for all the reviews about the trucks music being too loud, WHO HURT YOU?! LOL, you're all a totally joy kill Karens. It's a ice cream truck you fucking Nazi mofos! I for one, love the music. It's very nostalgic and it's not like they are going up and down the same street over and over again. Pro tip: Use the Mister Softee NorCal app. to see if they are near by! This was money when we heard the music in our neighborhood but didn't know exactly where it coming from. We made about a block from it's location, and it sounded like the truck was moving, so my fiancé did a little jog to catch them lol. Nothing like seeing a excited grown adult chasing a ice cream truck. The very first thing the driver/server gave us was a little cup of soft serve. This was our first time, so we are kinda confused and asked if this was a sample. He chuckled, and pointed to our dog (we were dog sitting), "that's for him." That alone made me a instant forever fan! How thoughtful! He was also super nice and patient as we were deciding on what to get. Most of the items on the menu are less than $7. Cheap! I wish I can order everything off the menu! I got the vanilla/chocolate swirl, and fiancé got the chocolate sundae. Very tasty, and good amount! Koa Pup got a regular soft serve. I finally found a Mister Softee truck! I was at a family gathering, and the truck just so happened to drive by our street as everyone was outside which was the perfect timing, especially for a hot day. They accepted cash and Apple Pay only. I ordered the Chocolate Dip ($5); they have a wide variety of options here (other dips, multiple syrups, and a chocolate and vanilla soft serve). I didn't expect my ice cream to melt as quickly as it did (literally moments after being handed my ice cream it started to get everywhere already haha) but the man serving us moved quickly, and was nice to notice the mess my soft serve was creating and handed me some napkins and a cup! I'd definitely go with one of their cup options next time to avoid the messiness... but their soft serve was great! Super rich and milky in flavor. The Ice cream was good definitely recommend getting a cup. Idk about non hot days but it was EVERYWHERE! Not worth the 10bucks. In my daughter's words "I'd rather have an Ice cream from McDonald's" lol definitely wouldn't melt as fast and cheaper. I did ask for napkins he gave me like 5...get MORE. Two years ago I first saw or hear of Mister Softee NorCal when I was in Daly City small neighborhood and the ice cream jingle was playing. I was wondering why small cities have nice ice cream trucks like this that goes into neighborhoods like this and San Francisco doesn't have a nice nostalgic ice cream truck like this! After researching I found there was an app I could download to see all the various frosty trucks that go around the Bay Area, mostly in the inside suburban areas where it is hot. For a while I have always been chasing the Mister Softee and got tired of it. I always wonder why it can't come toward me instead? Well I finally got my wish! As soon as my bus made a turn, I was we were right in back of Mister Frostee truck!! No way!! You have got to be joking! My dream truck right in front of me! As soon as I got off my bus stop, I said Wait come back! I am running after you! Will you stop maybe? Or are you out of ice cream? Then I thought oh great the light turned green and the odds the truck will stop so that I can catch up to it will likely not happen. Well I crossed the street by speedwalking toward the direction truck was going. It did happen to turn the corner out of my sight and I thought maybe I should run to see how fast down the block it would have zoomed by. Well lucky me it stopped about 20 feet in front of me and I yelled to the truck, so you have any ice cream left? The driver came to the window and said yes. Whoo hoo! I have scored big time! Now again hard part was to decide what to get since I have this right in front of me! I decided to get that unique cone where I can get vanilla Frostee on one side and chocolate on the other side. Decided to try Mister Softee after my company hired the truck for an afternoon. I ordered an oreo sundae which came with vanilla soft serve and oreo bits; it also comes with chocolate syrup but I opted against adding it because I don't like my desserts that sweet. The vanilla soft serve was creamy and light, and not overly sweet which I appreciated, and the oreos added good texture. A nice treat amidst a busy workday! The service is quick and they accommodate changes/preferences to the set menu. The soft serve is good and the flavor is perfect, but it is on the pricier side ($6.25 for the sundae), so whether or not it's worth it depends on if you're willing to pay that much for soft serve. It is pretty good quality though, so if you're looking to treat yourself, check it out! read more

We just happened to be walking around the Clement Farmers Market and I literally gasped once I heard the music coming from their truck. Was finally able to try Mister Softee ice cream! They were at a park we were at recently. Ordered an Oreo sundae, strawberry sundae, and a coke float. The soft serve is really good and creamy. It has a slightly different texture and taste compared to McDonalds and Costco. Generous amount of toppings! We went back 20 minutes later for more and the truck was gone. I heard from some other moms in the group of moms from my kids school that the ice cream from Mister Softee isn't that good. I'm sorry, I beg to differ. To be fair, I rarely eat ice cream. I really thought this ice cream was great. I got the Cherry Dip. I used to get the same kind of thing at Dairy Queen in Phoenix where I grew up. It was so good and a great blast from the past. Both my kids got Oreo Sundays. For the price you get a lot of ice cream and toppings. It was worth every calorie, every pound I gained, every cavity. I even forgot my lactose intolerance. Mister Softee is probably my favorite to get a milkshake from. I've only really ordered a shake from them cause whenever I catch them, I'm on the go, but it's very consistent. I love how they randomly just pop up when I'm not even thinking about them, and I always rush to try to get a shake. The chocolate ones are the best. After hearing all about Mister Softee, I was finally able to try it when I heard the beats of the ice-cream truck from outside my window. My nephews and nieces were scrambling because they knew it was soft serve time, and I couldn't help but join them. What's funny was that 5 minutes before they came driving down the block, I had a craving for ice-cream and the timing could be more perfect. After scanning their menu, I knew that I had to go with the one frozen treat I can get enough of, and that's of course, a milkshake. For $6-7 for a milkshake of this size was a steal! I never really had froyo as a shake, but this one hit the spot. I ended up going with chocolate/vanilla swirl and added some crushed oreos, it was exactly what I needed in my life. The dipped cones looked good, but too messy while I'm trying to work. Sipping a milkshake through a straw was more my vibe. This truck brings back the nostalgia of my younger years, and it's the perfect treat whenever it rolls through the neighborhood. I don't always crave froyo/ice-cream, but when it's right outside your door, it's so hard to say NO! Definitely recommend trying it out if it's convenient, but definitely one of the better tasting class swirl froyos I've had a quite a while! read more

Sooooo good! Definitely worth it and highly recommend getting the NorCal Mister Softer app to track in real time. I got the vanilla soft serve dipped in chocolate. Very good, but messy. Don't try to eat in your car as it'll melt all over you! If you live in Martinez, the truck seems to come often so have the app handy because the truck has been at Hidden Valley Park and The Virginia Hills neighborhood the last few times I checked. read more

Chicken Quesadilla: Its listed as just chicken and cheese but it has some crunchy bits added to it that make it amazing, I can't identify what it is, if anyone knows please message me. I want to say it's crunchy chicken skin or chicharrones.

We were too tired to go back, but honestly, this was not acceptable. If you're advertising late hours, the quality and availability should match. This experience was really disappointing.
