My toddler always gets excited whenever we cross paths with Mister Softee NorCal. This truck offers classic soft serve via cones, sundaes, and milkshakes. Toppings include sprinkles, nuts, crushed oreos. There is also chocolate, caramel, butterscotch, pineapple, cherry and strawberry sauce. With pricing ranging between $4.25 and 8 bucks, this sweet treat doesn't break the bank. Service is friendly. Mister Softee comes recommended for people of all ages. If you are lucky enough to have this truck roll through your neighborhood or see it drive around your local park, do not hesitate to give them a try!!
Booking was very easy. They respond pretty fast. I started the booking back in January for my son's graduation party in June. I was unsure how busy they would get, so it was better to be safe than sorry. I spoke with Andrew regarding details of the booking & what came with the services. He explained the whole menu was available & they can serve up to 70 people in 1 hour. That sounded perfect. I decided to move forward with the reservation & you can either pay a deposit or the full amount. The day of the event, the truck arrived early & I was able to talk to the driver regarding details. I did notice more than half the menu was crossed off but didn't ask about it. Then when it was time to serve my guests, they all told me a lot of the items on the menu weren't available. The only thing offered to my guest were soft serve in a cone or cup with toppings. Sundaes, banana splits, & floats weren't an option. My son asked the driver why & she said all she had were toppings. I called the next day after our event & spoke with Andrew again. He apologized for the mixup & it was a miscommunication with the driver & dispatch. He also explained, sometimes they do limit the menu to ensure guest are served in a timely manner. That is fine with me, but it was not communicated. He said he would look into it further and get back to me. I ended up writing an email as a follow up, and Andrew finally got back to me. They were able to accommodate a partial refund due to the issue on their end. Overall they have great service & my guests were happy but it was the expectation vs what was actually delivered. I will book with them again in the future in hopes we have a better experience.
One of the best soft serves ever! I had Mister Softee during a game at the Chase Center and this was phenomenal. For $11, it's definitely steep for ice cream, let alone soft serve, but well worth it! The portion is quite generous so it can definitely be shared. An unreal sweet treat.
First time trying this and it was delicious. I asked for a milkshake with Oreos and they asked if I wanted vanilla or chocolate. I have been hearing great things about Mister Softee and was excited I was finally able to try it!
Caught the Mister Softee truck outside Palo Alto Medical and decided to treat myself after a lab appointment. Great decision. The Chocolate Nut Sundae was everything you want from classic soft serve -- smooth texture, generous chocolate syrup, and a satisfying crunch from the nuts. Simple, nostalgic, and perfectly executed. Quick service, friendly vibe, and honestly a bright spot in the middle of a medical day. Would absolutely grab it again.
Excuse the half eaten picture of the cherry sundae - but it looked so good I had to dig in immediately. I was visiting Don Biddle park when I heard the ice cream truck playing. I thought I was a regular truck at first, but was pleasantly surprised to see soft serve! My kids loved seeing the cones being dipped. The cashier/service was super nice and patient with my order (I had 4 children with me). Cups/cones are about $5/each. And they were delicious. I'm following them on IG so I can be sure to catch them again!

Oh what a yummy ice cream this truck had and it was perfectly located outside the Pacifica Taco Bell Catina right by the shore. It was a beautiful sunny day to enjoy the ice cream after the gloomy and rainy Bay Area weather. Service was fast and prompt. It was like a cherry on top of our perfect Saturday adventure
Initial scheduling, confirmation reminders and flexibility was great. My party time shifted the morning of, when the Guest of Honor was delayed. I called Mister Softee and left a message. Someone returned my call within 5 min, I explained the issue and asked to push the arrival-start time 1 hour later. They checked their calendar and easily changed my time slot without issue or fees. I was very happy they could accommodate my change request, that ultimately made my party timeline flow better. Server arrived on time and everyone enjoyed their icecream treat.
My brother and I were on a mission to get mister softee. The first spot closed up before we arrived, and the second stopped serving ice cream even though it was only 8:30. We decided to try one last time and the third time was a charm. Using the app, we tracked a truck to a gas station. Kelsey was pumping gas and it was obvious she was done for the night. However, she went out of her way to help us and happily served us ice cream when I asked. She truly made our night--amazing customer service, and the ice cream was just as good!
The truck stopped in front of my place so I rushed out the door to get some soft serve! I got the Crunchie ($5), which is vanilla soft serve dipped in cookie/graham cracker crumbs. It was sweet, delicious, and a large portion. It's hard to track where the trucks are on the Mister Softee app - I have to rely on hearing the ice cream truck music. Maybe this particular truck isn't registered? Not sure how it works, but if you hear it nearby, do not miss your chance for a fun treat!
We were doing errands on a Sunday when we heard an ice cream truck in the Outer Sunset by Ocean Beach. It was a super hot day so we immediately followed the sound and found the Mister Softee truck right in our neighborhood! We got two cones that were so perfect. The soft serve is delicious and all the topping choices are great (Oreo was my fav!). The person who was running the truck was sooo sweet and friendly! ^__^ She was happy to see so many people stopping by - there was a short line forming when we went! I love ice cream, and I was on a mission to find this truck. I downloaded the app everything. Once found, I was excited to choose something from the menu. It was quick and easy to order. The server provided us with our ice cream right away. That day was super hot, so our cones were melting pretty quickly. After all the hype, I was quite disappointed with the ice cream. Mister Softee, makin' my Saturdays sweeter. When we hear the truck outside, the way my son and look at each other will forever be a happy memory. We've used mister Softee for events at school, and they're so easy to work with. I highly recommend asking them to come to your fundraiser. But book a year in advance, we learned the hard way. The fact that I can open my front door and order ice cream is such a privilege. I don't take it for granted. And it's actually good ice cream, so if you've felt unsure or hesitant, this is your sign to get some. The driver/server/ice cream men I've met are so cool, too. Being a food truck means more versatility and opportunity to try near one's area, but it also means inconsistency for times when you're craving. If I were craving Softee, there's a low chance I'd be close to get some soft serve. Otherwise, wonderful soft serve that's creamy and delicious. Prices aren't absurd like other soft serve spots too, honestly they're pretty fair, at least for soft serve. Not sure if I'd buy a milkshake here. Lots of variety in choices for cone styles and dips. I've never tried a cherry dip so it intrigued me. Cherry Dip Soft Serve - the dip was decent but could be better distributed as there were lots of holes where soft serve started melting and dripping. Classic artificial cherry flavor like in candy. Vanilla was super creamy and amazing, I'd definitely come back again. read more

Can't believe I never tried this until now. They recently stopped by my neighborhood and of course I couldn't pass up an opportunity for a soft serve on a hot day. Ordered a classic Oreo sundae and service was pretty quick. They make it on the spot which is great and the consistency and taste of the vanilla soft serve was pretty good! Mr Softee rolled up in the neighborhood and parked in front of our house when the kids got out at school on our street. So, instead of being a Karen and stirring up drama, I decided to take advantage of my good fortune, especially because no one was going anywhere. I got a pineapple sundae which is a generous vanilla soft serve with pineapple sauce and chunks. $6 and enough for 2 people (5 spoonfuls each). The soft serve is creamy and rich with a smooth mouthfeel. This ain't no McDonald's soft serve! Best soft serve ice cream in town! I used to chase down the truck in Fremont a few years back but now they come to Milpitas on Fridays! I usually see them around Calaveras Rd. Each truck has their own GPS so you can locate their trucks on their website. I always get the swirl cone but they also have chocolate dipped and sundaes too. Grabbed some soft serve from this food truck on a summer afternoon at the Levitt Pavilion Spring Concert Series in San Jose this past Sunday. The chocolate sundae was yummy, though it was a bit lacking in the chocolate sauce. My bf and I shared a little cup cuz we had already eaten so much at a food event earlier in the day. I saw the truck that I had heard so much about. We needed a cool treat even tho it wasn't even time for lunch yet (was before 11am) because it was piercing hot already. Hubs ordered his own cone and I ordered a simple vanilla in a cone with the chocolate shell. Since it was so hot so I had to eat it quickly since it was melting almost immediately. Mister Softee is a neat ice cream truck that specializes is soft serve. I got to try them for the first time when they stopped by the neighborhood. They play a tune when they drive by that is hard to miss. They have a nice selection of options such as cones, floats, shakes, and sundaes. I do believe they only have two flavors of soft serve though, being vanilla and chocolate. I opted for their pineapple sundae which came with a generous amount of both pineapple and soft serve. It certainly isn't a light dessert with the amount that they give, but it can certainly be a delight on occasion especially on a hot summer day. The quality of the soft serve and fruit is nothing extraordinary by any means, but I still found it fun, enjoyable, and refreshing. I did really enjoy the mix of the sweet and sour pineapple taste with the creamy vanilla taste and texture of the soft serve. I finally found a Mister Softee truck! I was at a family gathering, and the truck just so happened to drive by our street as everyone was outside which was the perfect timing, especially for a hot day. They accepted cash and Apple Pay only. I ordered the Chocolate Dip ($5); they have a wide variety of options here (other dips, multiple syrups, and a chocolate and vanilla soft serve). I didn't expect my ice cream to melt as quickly as it did (literally moments after being handed my ice cream it started to get everywhere already haha) but the man serving us moved quickly, and was nice to notice the mess my soft serve was creating and handed me some napkins and a cup! I'd definitely go with one of their cup options next time to avoid the messiness... but their soft serve was great! Super rich and milky in flavor. I was lucky to try the Mister Softies truck today! They were a vendor at my work event. The staff was super helpful and quick to provide the soft serve ice cream and I was so excited to try. Their ice creams came out so smooth and milky! I love the classic vanilla flavor joined with their soft chocolate sauce and paired with the nut crunch! I wish they had more options without sprinkles, but I loved them just the same. Their truck is easily recognizable and so cute. The Ice cream was good definitely recommend getting a cup. Idk about non hot days but it was EVERYWHERE! Not worth the 10bucks. In my daughter's words "I'd rather have an Ice cream from McDonald's" lol definitely wouldn't melt as fast and cheaper. I did ask for napkins he gave me like 5...get MORE. It was on our arms, pants and the grass. The cone was soggy in under 5 mins we just tossed them at point in the picture. Napkins were drenched! Decided to try Mister Softee after my company hired the truck for an afternoon. I ordered an oreo sundae which came with vanilla soft serve and oreo bits; it also comes with chocolate syrup but I opted against adding it because I don't like my desserts that sweet. The vanilla soft serve was creamy and light, and not overly sweet which I appreciated, and the oreos added good texture. A nice treat amidst a busy workday! The service is quick and they accommodate changes/preferences to the set menu. The soft serve is good and the flavor is perfect, but it is on the pricier side ($6.25 for the sundae), so whether or not it's worth it depends on if you're willing to pay that much for soft serve. It is pretty good quality though, so if you're looking to treat yourself, check it out! read more
I heard the famous jingle while walking my dog around my neighborhood. I'd never seen or heard the Mister Softee truck around this area in Sunnyvale, and I hesitated a minute too long and let the truck drive by me. Well, later on our walk, I heard it again and decided I wouldn't let it pass me by this time! The worker inside was super friendly and answered the questions I had about the different toppings. I ordered the classic vanilla chocolate swirl. The worker offered my dog some vanilla as a treat, which was so kind of him! My dog and I enjoyed the ice cream while sitting on a curb, and it was absolutely delicious. It melts quickly, so don't forget to grab napkins! Was finally able to try Mister Softee ice cream! They were at a park we were at recently. Ordered an Oreo sundae, strawberry sundae, and a coke float. The soft serve is really good and creamy. It has a slightly different texture and taste compared to McDonalds and Costco. Generous amount of toppings! We went back 20 minutes later for more and the truck was gone. I quickly downloaded the app and found it at another local park about 5 miles away. We ordered another Oreo sundae and tried their butterscotch this time. Both excellent. First off, for all the reviews about the trucks music being too loud, WHO HURT YOU?! LOL, you're all a totally joy kill Karens. It's a ice cream truck you fucking Nazi mofos! I for one, love the music. It's very nostalgic and it's not like they are going up and down the same street over and over again. Pro tip: Use the Mister Softee NorCal app. to see if they are near by! This was money when we heard the music in our neighborhood but didn't know exactly where it coming from. We made about a block from it's location, and it sounded like the truck was moving, so my fiancé did a little jog to catch them lol. Nothing like seeing a excited grown adult chasing a ice cream truck. The very first thing the driver/server gave us was a little cup of soft serve. This was our first time, so we are kinda confused and asked if this was a sample. He chuckled, and pointed to our dog (we were dog sitting), "that's for him." That alone made me a instant forever fan! How thoughtful! He was also super nice and patient as we were deciding on what to get. Most of the items on the menu are less than $7. Cheap! I wish I can order everything off the menu! I got the vanilla/chocolate swirl, and fiancé got the chocolate sundae. Very tasty, and good amount! Koa Pup got a regular soft serve. This is definitely paying for convenience. I don't think I've ever paid more than $4 for a cone of soft serve. The oreo Sunday was just soft serve with crumbles on top. Not even chunks of oreos, crumbs. The soft serve is tasty and creamy and I would recommend just getting a cone and not paying an extra $2 for a scoop of topping. It's also convenient walking out of your front door and having ice cream handed to you. Can't beat that on a warm day! read more
