My toddler always gets excited whenever we cross paths with Mister Softee NorCal. This truck offers classic soft serve via cones, sundaes, and milkshakes. Toppings include sprinkles, nuts, crushed oreos. There is also chocolate, caramel, butterscotch, pineapple, cherry and strawberry sauce. With pricing ranging between $4.25 and 8 bucks, this sweet treat doesn't break the bank. Service is friendly. Mister Softee comes recommended for people of all ages. If you are lucky enough to have this truck roll through your neighborhood or see it drive around your local park, do not hesitate to give them a try!!
Booking was very easy. They respond pretty fast. I started the booking back in January for my son's graduation party in June. I was unsure how busy they would get, so it was better to be safe than sorry. I spoke with Andrew regarding details of the booking & what came with the services. He explained the whole menu was available & they can serve up to 70 people in 1 hour. That sounded perfect. I decided to move forward with the reservation & you can either pay a deposit or the full amount. The day of the event, the truck arrived early & I was able to talk to the driver regarding details. I did notice more than half the menu was crossed off but didn't ask about it. Then when it was time to serve my guests, they all told me a lot of the items on the menu weren't available. The only thing offered to my guest were soft serve in a cone or cup with toppings. Sundaes, banana splits, & floats weren't an option. My son asked the driver why & she said all she had were toppings. I called the next day after our event & spoke with Andrew again. He apologized for the mixup & it was a miscommunication with the driver & dispatch. He also explained, sometimes they do limit the menu to ensure guest are served in a timely manner. That is fine with me, but it was not communicated. He said he would look into it further and get back to me. I ended up writing an email as a follow up, and Andrew finally got back to me. They were able to accommodate a partial refund due to the issue on their end. Overall they have great service & my guests were happy but it was the expectation vs what was actually delivered. I will book with them again in the future in hopes we have a better experience.
One of the best soft serves ever! I had Mister Softee during a game at the Chase Center and this was phenomenal. For $11, it's definitely steep for ice cream, let alone soft serve, but well worth it! The portion is quite generous so it can definitely be shared. An unreal sweet treat.
First time trying this and it was delicious. I asked for a milkshake with Oreos and they asked if I wanted vanilla or chocolate. I have been hearing great things about Mister Softee and was excited I was finally able to try it!
Caught the Mister Softee truck outside Palo Alto Medical and decided to treat myself after a lab appointment. Great decision. The Chocolate Nut Sundae was everything you want from classic soft serve -- smooth texture, generous chocolate syrup, and a satisfying crunch from the nuts. Simple, nostalgic, and perfectly executed. Quick service, friendly vibe, and honestly a bright spot in the middle of a medical day. Would absolutely grab it again.
Excuse the half eaten picture of the cherry sundae - but it looked so good I had to dig in immediately. I was visiting Don Biddle park when I heard the ice cream truck playing. I thought I was a regular truck at first, but was pleasantly surprised to see soft serve! My kids loved seeing the cones being dipped. The cashier/service was super nice and patient with my order (I had 4 children with me). Cups/cones are about $5/each. And they were delicious. I'm following them on IG so I can be sure to catch them again!

I booked them for a birthday party, and all the kids were happy. Booking was easy and conveniently handled by submitting an online form, with clear confirmation and follow-up via email. A great experience for kids and adults alike!
Oh what a yummy ice cream this truck had and it was perfectly located outside the Pacifica Taco Bell Catina right by the shore. It was a beautiful sunny day to enjoy the ice cream after the gloomy and rainy Bay Area weather. Service was fast and prompt. It was like a cherry on top of our perfect Saturday adventure
Initial scheduling, confirmation reminders and flexibility was great. My party time shifted the morning of, when the Guest of Honor was delayed. I called Mister Softee and left a message. Someone returned my call within 5 min, I explained the issue and asked to push the arrival-start time 1 hour later. They checked their calendar and easily changed my time slot without issue or fees. I was very happy they could accommodate my change request, that ultimately made my party timeline flow better. Server arrived on time and everyone enjoyed their icecream treat.
My brother and I were on a mission to get mister softee. The first spot closed up before we arrived, and the second stopped serving ice cream even though it was only 8:30. We decided to try one last time and the third time was a charm. Using the app, we tracked a truck to a gas station. Kelsey was pumping gas and it was obvious she was done for the night. However, she went out of her way to help us and happily served us ice cream when I asked. She truly made our night--amazing customer service, and the ice cream was just as good!
The truck stopped in front of my place so I rushed out the door to get some soft serve! I got the Crunchie ($5), which is vanilla soft serve dipped in cookie/graham cracker crumbs. It was sweet, delicious, and a large portion. It's hard to track where the trucks are on the Mister Softee app - I have to rely on hearing the ice cream truck music. Maybe this particular truck isn't registered? Not sure how it works, but if you hear it nearby, do not miss your chance for a fun treat!

I was on my way back to work from lunch and I saw that the neighboring company had a food truck in their parking lot. I took a glance while driving past and noticed it was an ice cream truck. I told myself that I could go for some ice cream but decided that I was going to keep driving. As soon as a parked my car in my company's parking lot, I could hear the music from the truck. It was calling out to me and telling me to go buy it. It got louder and louder until it ended up on the street my office is on. As I debated on getting ice cream, it inches closer. I caved in and decided that I needed to try this place out and boy was it worth it. The soft serve is creamy, not too sweet, and flavorful with vanilla. The sprinkles added to the soft serve and the cone was good too. Great soft serve and good price! I will be looking forward to the truck coming back around in the following weeks! read more
OVERALL: This is such a fun truck that needs to come around more often. High quality soft serve that everyone loves. FOOD: I love a chocolate dipped cone but they're so hard to find! I love that Mister Softee has them. Their soft serve is super rich and creamy, you can tell it's high quality. Their prices are also very reasonable. SERVICE: I follow Mister Softee NorCal on Instagram. They post where they will be each day. I also have the app, which has a GPS map of their location. I had seen that they were in one neighborhood nearby, so I started to make my way there. I refreshed the map on my way, and it had moved. Apparently the truck is always on the move and just stops if people flag it down. This is really difficult because people love Mister Softee and would be willing to go to it if it just stayed somewhere for a bit of time. Highlight of our party was Mister Softee! Young + old loved it. Truck driver arrived early to scout out the best location to park. She was willing to start a half hour early because the kids couldn't wait. We could order anything on the menu. My favorite is the classic vanilla chocolate swirl in a cone. Other people had rainbow sprinkles, chocolate dip, cherry dust, you name it. It was ice cream heaven. read more
We were lucky enough to run into this truck right after leaving Pacifica beach! I got the Oreo Sundae which was so good!! The ice cream has a very creamy consistency that was complimented with Oreo bits. The chocolate fudge topping adds a rich chocolate flavor; however, it was very sweet. I'm 19 right now, but if I was 10 years younger, my sweet tooth would've LOVED it haha!! The worker who helped me was so patient and friendly!! He was helpful with recommendations and very accommodating for my friends orders. The service is quick as well! Overall, if you are lucky enough to bump into this truck I would definitely recommend stopping to order something! My sister and I were driving home when I saw the ice cream truck. My sister and I looked at each other and you know we both wanted some ice cream. We both waited until it came to our house. We didn't want to miss it so we waited outside. Mind you it was 100 degrees outside. I was holding my puppy who wasn't too happy about the heat... sorry. We saw another young lady and she asked if we were waiting for the ice cream truck too. She said she has been hooked ever since her friend introduced her to this ice cream truck. You know it's worth the wait. I got the crunchie ice cream cone. I'm not really sure how to explain it but the vanilla ice cream was topped with chocolate Cocoa Puffs but minis. My sister had the chocolate sundae and it was so good. The ice cream is amazing quality. You get a great quantity of ice cream for the price as well. Perfect for a hot day! Hearing the Mr Softee jingle brings back such wonderful memories of my summer time childhood growing up in NYC! Last month while sitting at home working, I heard the faint sound of it and I could not believe my ears. I quickly opened the front door and saw the beloved blue and white ice cream truck from my childhood! I grabbed my mask and ran out in my slippers to try and catch the truck. Luckily I was able to track it down because even though it goes slowly it can sometimes be hard to catch it. I got a vanilla and chocolate swirl double cone with crunchies to share with my wife. So creamy and yummy! After that first NorCal Mr Softee experience, I became better prepared by using their mobile app to track them and also to bring a bowl or cup to hold the cone in because the ice cream can melt quite quickly on a warm day! Or you can ask the Softee barista for a cup as well. I have had the cones with plain vanilla or chocolate, with chocolate dipped and crunchies and also a strawberry sundae. All do not disappoint. Surprisingly they also store well in the freezer to eat later. I just let it soften up by leaving on the counter to melt down a bit. I want to give a shout out to Heather who is such a rock star! She is very friendly and makes for an even more enjoyable Mr Softee experience! When my wife hears the jingle now her ears perk up even when it is just from opening up the app! My 2 year old son hears the song and starts saying ice cream truck! Good times! read more

Doesn't the sound coming from ice cream trucks make you happy? Cause it sure does for me and I always wondered what was the random ice cream truck that occasionally frequents my neighborhood on the weekdays. Turns out it was the Mister Softee ice cream truck! I never tried their soft serve before so I was curious to grab some the next time the truck rolled around. On a Tuesday, I heard the truck come around and I was able to catch up to it to get an Oreo sundae ($6.25). It's a bit pricey but it was just the refreshing and yummy mid day treat that I needed. The soft serve is not the best I ever tried but it's still ice cream and I can't complain about that. read more

We tracked Mister Softee in Martinez after downloading the app- Mister Softee NorCal. This app will track the trucks in real time. Love the old school ice cream truck music too when you open the app to search where Mister Softee is located. I kept seeing pics of this soft serve ice cream on my social media pages and it looked so good! Prices are very reasonable as well. They accept cash and cards. Today was the perfect day to enjoy it! My kids insisted we seek Mister Softee since I kept talking about it. Plus we needed to cleanse our palate after eating seafood for lunch. We drove 20 minutes to find Mister Softee in front of Molly's Gourmet Market & Deli. Bonus...no line! My first bite brought back memories of my childhood. Creamy, indulgent, nostalgic, and messy! You have to eat it quickly when it's hot out. Luckily I had wipes in my purse. The kids shared the Banana Split because it was huge! Three scoops of soft serve (vanilla, chocolate and swirl), strawberry, pineapple, and Oreo crumb toppings, a whole banana and whip cream. Delicious! Served in a fun boat container. What a wonderful treat when the Ice Cream man aka Mr Softee pulls up to your neighborhood and posts up and says we are OPEN!! Of course we had to try them out.... and sure enough, it totally delivered as expected.... creamy , delicious and considerably large amount of ice cream for such a lower than market price.... WE LOVE IT 1. Oreo Dusted Cone- good balance of ice cream and Oreo 2. Original Chocolate Vanilla Swirl... so simple it's hard to mess up 3. Such a great addition for an event. Very easy to work with and reasonably priced. Our driver Daniel was great! Arrived on-time, served up yummy soft serve efficiently and with a smile, and even turned on the music to give our guests the full Mister Softee experience. Their soft-serve is the best we've had yet! Also love their menu variety - dipped cones, various toppings, banana splits, milkshakes, sundaes, root beer floats - can't get any better! read more

i really like the concept of having a local ice cream truck. they have a good variety and was excited to try it. the ice cream guy was nice and friendly. i wish their ice cream was more vanilla flavored, it tasted more milky. their chocolate dip didn't rlly taste that chocolate idk it tasted like crunchy nothing. i'll give it a 3.5 stars but round it up bc of service. read more

My family and I chased this ice cream truck down and I want to thank the driver who stopped to serve us...though they are supposed to be closed at 7:30pm. I don't know their usual stops as we were told of this place literally 20 minutes before we started our pursuit. Their website recommends that you download their app to track the truck location. I cannot verify if the calendar on their website is accurate...I didnt see them scheduled to be in SF today but I guess we got lucky! Their ice cream reminds me how McDonalds ice cream used to be: creamy, not too sweet, solid vanilla ice cream on top of a normal cone. I didnt have time to take a picture of the menu but cones are $4.75 and sundaes are $6.50ish? This is a good deal for ice cream in the city (to me at least)....this cone was pretty huge...I felt like I finished a full meal after. We got the oreo dust and crunchie cones. We will pass on the oreo dust in the future... the crunch was everyone's favorite. Will be back to try the different options! read more
I wish I never knew about Mister Softee NorCal... why? Because ever since my niece texted me to say, "their soft serve truck is next to our house, come over right now!" Since that day we tried their soft serve goodness, my kids have asked me everyday, "where's Mister Softee at right now?"...which prompts me to open up their app and see their locations. OK, really though, download the app, get notifications when they're in your neighborhood, and track them down like you once did when you were a kid. If you plan on driving to them and bringing home a cup or cone to a family/friend, it wont make it. You have to eat it in the exact moment its in your hand. Their soft serve ice cream and toppings leaves you wanting more. read more
