The "NFA guy" told me I was all set and everything was submitted. Only problem was I never got an email notification from the AFT say my paperwork was submitted. The "NFA guy" told me I was all good and it takes a few days with their system. He told me I should get approval in about 2 weeks. Fast forward about 6 weeks (45 days), still no email or update. So I can their 15th street store where I submitted the paper work. They dismissed me and told me to talk to "Grant" from another store (their plano gun range). I frequent the gun range and have always had good experiences. I get Grant on the phone who informed me that the 15th street store never submitted my paper work and I was waiting for nothing. Grant submitted my paperwork on the spot and I got an immediate ATF notification of the submitted paperwork (a very different experience than the 15th street store's "NFA guy's" statement). less than 6 days go by and i got my approval. I go in to pick up my Can and the "NFA guy" is there. he immediately blamed Grant for the who hang up and said sometimes it happens. Never offered an apology or took responsibility. For the record, this in not my first can (my 5th) and I have a decent idea of how this works. Based on my experience with the 15th street store. I will definitely not being going back to them for cans. Also this is not a knock on their range or Grant. They have always been great and have helped me. This is my bad/first experience ive had with the 15th street store and will not be doing business with them again regarding cans or anything that is not already on hand at the store. Additionally, I enjoy the range and got there often. I have been going to the range for years since they opened. It should be noted Grant is not the "NFA guy" I was directed to when at the 15th Street store. Grant was the savior in this story and helped me get my can out of misterguns jail.

I live in a neighboring city and thought it was worth the try. I wanted to sell one of my handguns and online info was they paid fair value for used guns? I went in on 9/23 about 1 or 1:15pm and waited at the Gunsmith counter. In about 5 minutes I was waved over to the counter. The first thing I noticed was the employee did not look like ex military so I thought maybe there were other staff in different jobs. I explained why I was there and handed the employee my S&W box my gun was still in, never fired and in the same box and contents from when I bought it. The employee pulled out the Semi Auto .40 caber and took a quick look and told me what my gun was?? He then said there is no demand for these and the best I could do is $50! I was shocked naturally by not only the offer but his less than friendly/or professional his approach was. I smiled and said wow the pawn shop in Lewisville offered me $150 and I thought they were getting to me? He responded we can't sell these on GunBroker because we can't get our money out of them! I told him that I had been on GunBroker that morning to see what they were selling for and there were NONE for sale as used, and there were 2 sellers with new ones at $299 each in other states. He closed out by saying we can't resell those??? Just for the record my gun is a S&W .40 CALIBER SD MODEL 4". It was purchased new for $329 in April and was never used or fired. I purchased a used .45 S&W about 6 weeks later because that is the gun I wanted but new they were very expensive in the metroplex. I paid half what a new one would cost. I was only hoping to get a fair price for the .40 since I had replaced it but I made a mistake of coming to your store! FYI I had two older brothers serv in the military years ago and have a strong respect for the military! I chose to go into Law Enforcement after school instead. I would like to say the facility is beautiful but is more expensive than 3 other DFW gun stores/ranges. At this time I can't say if I would go back to your store due to pricing but mainly due to the employee I dealt with. He was not professional and actually was almost rude! He dealt with me and dismissed me in under 2 minutes and no one was in line behind me. He had NO desire to keep me as a customer for your store! If you are looking for a high class gun store and range this may be your place. Hopefully you are not trying to sell a firearm and you don't get this employee that I got! The really bad part is I made 2 prior trips to TGE before yesterday only to be told the "buyer" was not there? The first time he was at a late lunch and to come back in an hour. I love being able to talk and joke about a range of things ( pun intended ). The range is clean and ran with safety as a priority. The only issue I have is my fat ass feels like I'm about to break their chairs. That's more a "me" issue though. I think I will only shoot here as I feel like family when I am there. They are always attentive. I've visited on Wednesday for Ladies Day a couple of times. There is always someone available in the shooting area for questions and concerns. That person will offer suggestions or assistance from time to time. When we visit on other days they are not "standing at the ready" in the same way, so that is definitely a benefit for ladies who are trying to get more comfortable with shooting. I'm not very experienced yet and they have been so helpful as I learn. Silly little things happen when you are trying to reload or the gun jams or something. They have really helped me build confidence. We have visited during weekdays and on weekends and it's always been a positive experience. We have not been there in the evening. I would definitely recommend Texas Legends.

Context. We were a group of 6 people with variable amounts of shooting experience and none of us…read morehad used shot guns. We got uere around 11am on a Sunday. It wasn't busy. We checked in at the shop. They were very patient with us as they explained the prices, options etc. Since we were all rooks they said we'd have an instructor help us out and set us up with a larger practice trap stand which had extra bench space. They also offer complementary water which we grabbed on our way to the shooting area. Practice traps are the kind that always shoot in generally the same spot so you don't have to track a sideways moving target. We had a 20ga shotgun which has a smaller recoil. Prices were reasonable. 15/25 traps and then 13/25 ammo, and the gun was 20. Our instructor John met us at the stand. It was a bit of a wait but once he got there he showed us the ropes and hung out with us, helping us out and just being a cool guy. We were there about 1.5 hrs. This was a fantastic experience and im definitely coming back.

Range targets have a bunch of pre-programmed scenarios (i.e. shoot/no shoot drills, reload drills, charging drills, increasing distance drill) or if you can create your own. Very clean with probably the best air filtering system in town. Biggest thing I like is you are not limited to an hour. You want to shoot for an hour, Great. 1 1/2 hours Great, want to leave and go have lunch and come back, again Great. All of this for one price. No more kicked off the lane in exactly 60 minutes. Gun rentals are only 5.00. They also have memberships with NO initiation fees that basically pay for themselves if you go 2 times a month. If you've read this far you can see I really love this range. I don't work there but I've been a member for 5+ years. They didn't pay me for this either.

We had to submit our IDs and read the full T&C in order be eligible to get in the range. They didn't rent googles and ear muffs, but they sold them for decent price. Ear muffs were $15, and goggles were only $5. After the registration process, then we moved to the gun rental area where a staff member showed us different pistols and riffles. He was very knowledgeable about different types of guns and ammo. He also gave us a detailed brief on how to hold and reload the guns. After all the paperwork and crash courses, finally we went able to walk to the range. It was indoor and super loud due so nearby parties using big guns like shotgun and snipers. But overall it was easy to control the poster hanger and shoot from the window. We had an hour to use all the ammo. Once our time was up, we took the items back to rental area. We got our IDs back once the return was complete. Then we when to the registration counter to pay our dues. We were group of 5 friends and the kind staff member allowed all of us to split the bill and pay equal amount. It came to $45 per person for 2 guns (rental), 70 bullets and goggles. It was very reasonable price in my opinion. Overall a solid gun range but got some room to improve.

After patronizing Eagle Gun Range, I agree with the high rating. The attendant, an older gentleman with blue eyes and well kept hair and appearance answered all my questions politely. He informed me of their membership options without being pushy. They even let you shoot forced reset trigger/bump stock and shotguns in their indoor facility which I perceive to be a bit rare these days. I didn't have the full auto weapons but nice to know they allow it. I did enjoy my experience. Prices are probably in line with the market. Gun range shooting is never going to be the cheapest outing, but in the opinion of me and other citizens, it's a necessity to be able to practice our constitutional rights to shoot a gun. It had been probably a year or two since the last time I went shooting, but Eagle will be our place going forward. I recommend it highly.

About a week ago, I was in need of some relatively minor gunsmithing. I had attempted to remove a…read moreflash hider that was really torqued on and believed I had loosened my barrel. Knowing that there can be issues if barrel/bolt face headspace gets off by too much, I decided it best to have a gunsmith re-torque everything to specs. I submitted a quote request via Yelp* and within a few hours I received three replies. The first came in at $40 for the fix, the second - which was Barnestormers - quoted $75, and the third just said gimme a call and we can talk about it. Riiiiight... Because Chuck of Barnestormers mentioned the possibility of my having sheered off the barrel index pin, I decided to go with Barnestormers. I figured that if I had sheered off the pin, I would at least be in good hands, thinking that Chuck is going to do a thorough check to make sure everything is as it should be. Chuck is friendly enough. He conducts his gunsmithing operations out of his garage which, as I shared with Chuck, reminds me of my own garage, wherein I place something and then can never find it! Chuck did find everything he was looking for when I was there and, while I could criticize his operation and seemingly disorganized workspace, I was grateful that he was cool with my being present while he worked on my AR. Foremost, let me say that Chuck completed the work on my AR in relatively short order and I am happy with the end result. That said, I was disappointed that as Chuck attempted to remove my barrel nut and delta ring, he damaged the barrel nut significantly by breaking off a tooth or two; really making it an ugly mess! The teeth on the barrel nut were damaged because Chuck lost control of the barrel nut wrench when attempting to loosen the nut. In his defense, the nut was seriously tight, but I think with a bit more care, he would have been able to remove the nut without actually damaging it. And, it probably wouldn't even have phased me, and I likely wouldn't even mention it here had he had a nut on hand (new or otherwise) to use as a replacement for the one he damaged. Or, since he did not have a barrel nut on hand - just in case... that he would comp some aspect of the parts and/or labor on my repair work. Instead, Chuck produced a complete new handguard with barrel nut included as a prospective solution, the acceptance of which would result in somewhat of a configuration change on my AR annnd an increase in costs. Because I did not want the damaged barrel nut put back on, only to end up feeling the need to replace it and incur further costs in the future, I opted for the new "furniture" and to have the issue solved while attention was being given and money being spent. Chuck quoted me $90 for the new, 10" UTG free float handguard, which I trusted and now know was a decent price. The main issue I take with my experience and the main reason for the less than stellar review here of Barnestormers is that, I calculated $75 for the labor and $90 for the new handguard. So, $165 out the door. And, while I did not specifically ask for it, I did make mention of being a disabled veteran and kinda hoped Chuck would feel compelled to offer a nominal price break for my military service to our country. But, when I asked for a total, Chuck said $200. Now, because I am the type of person who chooses not demean another man's worth, I paid the $200. I just felt that there was a bit of a bait and switch of sorts and that, if anything, there should have been a discount off that quoted for my being captively motivated to accept the new handguard and consequences of what I perceived to be Chuck's carelessness. In the end, each of us weighs different aspects of business differently and you very well may disagree with me on this one, but if you decide to go with Barnestormers Armory for your gunsmithing needs, consider yourself informed! I ordered the parts myself, but I wanted someone with more experience than me to put the rifle back together. Chuck got the rifle back together in record time. It came apart while he was demonstrating the repair & he had to reassemble the gun again. He accomplished this while I was there & made sure it was working correctly before I left. He did a good job, he was competent & friendly. I recommend his services & will use his service in the future.
