After comparing the prices of ammo and pre owned guns at one of the large sporting goods stores, they all beat Gun masters selection, price, and customer service by a significant amount, we were pleasantly surprised at the one located in Alan Tx. i went to gun master at 5001 K ave. plano Texas 75074 for the first time today, and at first i was going to say the service was terrible but then i would've had to have gotten service to say that . I stood at the counter for twenty minutes during that time two more customers came in after me and we're greeted immediately, but i thought i would give them the benefit of the doubt because i really wanted to buy a hand gun today and after another five minutes i could not tolerate the ignorance of this business and the employee's any longer so i politely walked out with my $500.00 dollars even though i had some choice words i would've liked to have shared with them i decide to be the better man and walked out the door and took my $ somewhere else and spent it which made me feel a whole lot better knowing the gun master folk's did not get it. : ) read more

Excellent place to shop and sell your guns. I purchased a firearm from Bass Pro but was delayed for 9 days going on ten without any updates or ability to have them give me some sort of resolution other than "we just have to wait for a response." NICS has a date that allows they transaction to go forward if the delay is long but Bass Pro's corporate policy states a response must be received in order for the sale to complete or refund your money. Came to Gun Masters and the younger man there not only answered my questions and offered suggestions about how to handle Bass Pro, but he also agreed to hold a gun for me for 24hrs so I can run up to Bass Pro and figure things out. Took my grandfathers pistol in to get fix and the old guy behind the counter couldn't give a damn about what I was asking or needed. He looked down and said the repair is more then the gun is worth. Never even picked it up. He didn't even listen to me. I don't care what value the gun has it was my grandfathers who passed away. This was his gun and I wanted it fixed. Rude cocky and full of them selves. Left went down to superior gun care. Guy spent 10 min talking and listening to me and said I'll fix it. 3 days later it was fixed. This gun shop has been one of my favorites in Dallas for over a decade now. They have a good selection of new and used guns. Some are consignment guns though and the prices are sometimes too high. The staff is experienced and always helpful. I always look for a guy named Ed. He helped me a few years ago, and now, I will wait for him if he is with a customer. He absolutely knows his stuff. I used to use them for gunsmithing too, but they no longer offer it. I believe they send there work out now, but I am not for sure. They also have a decent selection of accessories. The prices are fair, but if you catch Academy or Cabela's having a sale, they are quite a bit cheaper than Gunmasters. Thanks guys, keep it up! read more

Great gun shop. The two times I have gone I've received great customer service as well as fast gunsmith services. On the first occasion I stopped in about a half hour before closing time with my m&p and a bunch of Apex trigger kit parts on a buddy's recommendation that the shop's smith did good work when it came to Apex kit installs. I was worried I would have to leave my pistol at the shop because they were about to close but the smith said, "give me a few minutes." About 20 minutes later maybe a little more he had my m&p ready to go feeling like new with the new trigger and internal parts installed. Minimal charge for the work, excellent service. Today I stopped in again 30 minutes before closing time. When it was my turn shop staff was extremely helpful when it came to picking out some night sights for another pistol of mine, even took the time to let me see a pistol with the sights already install and let me get a glimpse of the sights outside in the sunlight. Not only did they have the best price from some of the other shops around town but the install was free, again the shop's smith did some quick work. Yesterday I stopped in with my son. Three people behind the counter talking with each other and completely ignored us when we walked in. They were too busy gripping about Dianne Feinstein. There were 2 Sigs under the glass I wanted to see not once did they ask if they could show me anything. Rude and unprofessional. The sales staff are pretty helpful, friendly and attentive. The prices are pretty good on the whole. The selection is fairly broad. My beef is with the gunsmith. I took three handguns in to be re-sighted. The first one he scratched up the slide and didn't even seat the front sight properly. The second was done right. The third he dinged up the rear sight and scratched the front sight. I won't be going back. read more

I have been in here a few times over the past three years. The guys that work here are friendly and knowledgeable. If you are reading this it is most likely you are looking for a nice, local shop. This is kind of an old school place where folks come in and swap lies about their guns and adventures. The gunsmith was helpful regarding some issues my buddy was having on a new pistol. I like that they have a large inventory of reloading equipment and accessories. I use Dillon products and they have a bunch on the shelf. I will save me on shipping costs when I order from Dillon direct. They also have a good selection of ammo that is hard to find at the big box stores. To All at Gun Master, I had purchased a Ruger LC9 S Pro form another gun store in West Plano two weeks back. After shooting 500+ rounds at Eagle Gun Range, it was clear that the rear sight windage was off. The gun was shooting to the left consistently for me and others. I went back to the store that I purchased it from, they looked at me like I had three heads and TOLD me "...it was me not the gun...". After about an hour of discussion, it became clear they weren't going to do anything to help. But however, they did offered to sell me a $50 + laser bore sight?? On the way out of the store, another customer mentioned Gun Master on Avenue K in Plano... So I called to see if you could adjust a rear sight on a new Ruger LC9 S Pro of mine. Then, during the same call, I asked if you could do it that day and you said sure bring it on in. So I drove over and you discussed the windage with me and how much I thought it was off to the left of the target etc. Without any more questions or BLAME, you did exactly what you said you could do, right then and there. Your Gun Smith adjusted the rear sight windage for me and additionally it only took him about 5 minutes... When I asked how much do I owe you, they said nothing "... just come back soon, we want your business...". WOW! Did I mention, WOW. Now that's service and my new Ruger LC9 S Pro is "Dead On" at 25 yards! Great job and service, you have created a loyal customer for life. I saw the "girlie" ads up on the wall but they were certainly not porno. As an older female, I was not particularly bothered. First, a little bit of information about myself. I am a first-time gun purchaser looking at all of the options that are out there. I have finally researched long enough and will be buying my first handgun very soon. I was surfing on the Internet about five days ago and came across this establishment. I made it a point to visit yesterday after I got off work. The location is very easy to get to right off of US 75 in Plano Texas. The retail store is very well stocked with what appears to be just about anything that anyone interested in firearms would want. Everything is very neatly organized. The people working in the store were extremely nice and greeted me when I came in. My reason for visiting the store was because when I end up purchasing the firearm that I want, I will be swapping out the factory sights and purchasing night sights. The young man who ended up helping me asked me previously if I needed help with anything as I was walking around looking at everything they had for sale. I ended up getting into a discussion with him about the night sights. He gave me more information than I could have ever wanted and really assisted me in making an educated decision. I wish I had gotten his name but trust me he was a very nice young man. In my opinion he went out of his way to assist a newbie like myself. I never felt as though I was being looked down on because of my very basic firearm questions. He answered each one of them and provided suggestions along the way. He really gave me a lot to think about and I now know that I am prepared to make a decision. I have shopped around for pricing on several accessories and this store is the same as or lower in many instances as the larger big box chains. I am 100% sure that this will become my local gun shop. If you have not been to the store I recommend that you go. Especially if you are a new gun owner. They really took their time to explain everything to me. I am very impressed! The ONLY reason I go here is if nowhere else has what I'm looking for. Rant: The younger guys are great! Open minded individuals with a lot of great info willing to share. Range and ammo and gun info always on hand. They'd no doubt run a great shop. I've never actually met the owner but I'm assured he's good. Why the 1 star? The wrinkly fogies who're racist and blunt to anyone if you're not white. I've been back on numerous occasions and have seen customers treated much better than myself. I'm not entitled and don't flaunt anything. Any question I ask gets turned down almost immediately. I own my own retail shop, so I know better than to take the lip I get as a customer with money to spend. Now there's no outright prejudice, but I get vibes from the specific employees, Ed and the arrogant gunsmith with the Lenin moustache. Rest assured, I know better now than to go back to talk to those two. Work on people skills please, there's no way I should feel the need to get the app just to make a bad review. I bought a 1911 from another store and had a problem. It was under warranty and I sent it back to the factory. It took 2 months and when it came back the front sight was loose. They offered to fix it again but it meant waiting another 2 months. Gunmaster fixed it while I was buying a box of ammo. They have earned my business. read more
