Glock 40 with a black on black kryptek cerakote slide.

Genuinely like heading to the Celina Gun Shop. Great people, good service and quality work. I find the ammunition prices to be hard to beat as well. Recently got a subtle black kryptek cerakote on a Glock 40 slide. Looks good and the Dawson Precision fiber optic sights are solid. They also put together a connector and spring kit for me that has cleaned up the trigger significantly.

They should change the name to Celina gouge shop. Ridiculousness to charge double for ammo during these uncertain time. Pirates

Here we met Serenity, who was rude, unhelpful and unempathetic. First I asked if someone can help me to put the bike into my car. She said no because it was not a curbside pick up. I told her I'm a woman with a child, I need help with putting the bike to the car. She said let her ask someone. This would be the very first store who would not help a customer upload a large item! She later reluctantly said someone may help me upload but they are not required. When I showed her my order number on my phone and she said, "Can you read the number to me?" Then she told me because I just placed the order, the bike was not assembled. I asked why the website said it would be ready within an hour. She said she didn't know. So I said to her I would be back tomorrow to pick up the bike. She said our bike won't be ready until Wednesday (today is Friday, so it turned from a "Ready within an hour" to 5 days in store pick up.) Finally I told her to cancel my order as my son and myself were just disappointed from this experience. She said you can do that yourself online. This is the worst customer service representative I have ever met!

I had one of the worst experiences in this store on Tuesday evening August 25th that I have ever encountered as a shopper. I spent over 500.00 for this store to sit there and try and sell me on there credit card promising 30.00 off plus and additional 20% with not strings attatched. I hesitated and finally decided for nearly 100.00 off I thought it would be worth it. They came back to me only to tell me I would have to wait 14 days to see if I was approved and couldn't sell me what I bought and would have to come back in 14 days. I didn't want to do that. I asked them to just cancel the credit application and let me pay for it with my credit card. They wouldn't allow me to do that either telling me I would have to come in 14 days later to purchase my stuff. The management was too lazy to work with me and devise a way for me to purchase my stuff after spending an hour and a half in their store. Never shop at the Celina, TX store. I wouldn't advise it. That was the most embarrassing situation I have ever been put in. Lowes did the same thing to me except they accepted by credit application in 30 seconds and allowed me to purchase the stuff as credit on their credit card. I could care less if I was approved or not but they could at least been upfront with me about it. They questioned my 350,000 household income, which I make. I own a home in the community, I have great credit, I work a great job, I'm an accredited investor so there should be no questions of my financial background. Even if they had a question they don't have to go around the store and hounding those of us shopping to get in on their specials and those specials are only good for people applying for their stupid credit card. The store manager had no interest in working with me. I told them they could keep their merchandise, I didn't want it to spend a dime in their store to be treated like that. Again, they would not even allow me to pay for the merchandise with a different method because they would have to back all the sales out of the PLS system, the registers they use. It was going to be too much work with them. I hope it;s worth losing a customer over. Probably not but I'll never be back. This was the Celina, TX store. As soon as it is on Yelp I will make another post about Academy.

This review is a factual, chronological summary of my business relationship with Ray's Sporting…read moreGoods involving four distinct firearms. Over a 98-day period, the shop demonstrated a systemic absence of project management, communication, and regulatory compliance. Accountability, customer service, effort and basic respect was completely absent during all engagements with the business. The Work Summary: * Firearm 1 (Ruger 10/22 Engraving): Finished below standard quality parameters. * Firearm 2 (.458 Caliber Lower Receiver Form 1 Engraving): Permanently ruined through incorrect engraving. Staff attempted to release the non-compliant unit using an invalid compliance claim. A bare lower was provided to settle physical property liability, which I refused to let them engrave. * Firearm 3 (Browning Gold Shotgun Cerakote): Executed below acceptable standards (previous hydrodipping visible underneath) and returned assembled except for the missing trigger housing component after 60 days. * Firearm 4 (Sig Sauer P2022 Cerakote): Returned unfinished with zero meaningful prep work completed after 38 days. Chronological Timeline: * June 5 - August 13, 2026: Initiated a transfer to establish history. Handed over a Ruger 10/22 for Form 1 engraving and a Browning Gold shotgun for Cerakote. The Ruger was returned with substandard physical execution. * August 17, 2026: Handed over a serialized lower receiver for Form 1 engraving. Explicitly confirmed the text layout via text message: "Individual, James Grant Sutton, Dallas, TX." * August 22, 2026: Arrived on the guaranteed pickup date. The receiver was missing from the premises. Staff had misplaced the trigger housing of my Browning Gold shotgun and asked if I had it in my possession. I left a Sig P2022 for Cerakote. * August 26, 2026: Returned to the storefront. The ATF-approved Form 1 lower receiver was permanently ruined. Staff engraved an incorrect name and city, disregarding the text confirmation. Management's initial remedy was to mill a recessed box into the aluminum to erase the typo, which would permanently thin the receiver wall on a heavy-recoil .458 caliber build. When confronted, Manager Cody Harris stated the shop was heavily occupied with "$200k machine guns." Management provided a bare replacement lower to settle physical property liability. * August 29, 2026: Arrived to retrieve the replacement lower receiver. The shop presented the initial, double-milled ruined receiver. The second engraving attempt on that unit was legally incomplete; my middle name was omitted. When I flagged this federal non-compliance, the gunsmith explicitly stated that he "personally knows the local ATF field officer" and guaranteed "they wouldn't ding me." Management used this subjective claim to dismiss the error and attempt to release a non-compliant weapon from their care, violating approved Form 1 tax stamp parameters. I declined further engraving services on the bare replacement lower. * September 11 - September 15, 2026: Text messages went unanswered and sequential calls went straight to voicemail until I bypassed screening by calling back-to-back. Staff stated the replacement shotgun part had still not been delivered by their vendor. They stated the Sig P2022 was delayed because initial sandblasting failed to remove the heavy paint. A completion date of September 29th was established. * September 29, 2026: Arrived to retrieve both projects after 98 combined days. Neither gun was finished. The Browning Gold Cerakote left the previous hydrodipping visible in multiple spots. It lacked the trigger slave pin, leaving the shotgun assembled except for the missing trigger housing. The Sig P2022 had not completed basic prep work. I retrieved my property and declined further service. Conclusion: Ray's Sporting Goods struggles with basic organization, fails to adhere to written text confirmations, and demonstrates a casual attitude toward NFA compliance. If you value your property, your time, or your standing with federal regulatory agencies, take your business elsewhere. The missing part for the Browning Gold was ordered independently from Midwest Gun Works and arrived in five days. The gunsmith has a track record of using fake vendor delays to cover up the fact that your property is just sitting on a rack gathering dust while they charge predatory holding fees. With further research, I had to initiate the lengthy administrative process to void the approved Form 1 tax stamp solely due to this shop's repeated engraving errors. The gunsmith's claim that a local agent "wouldn't ding me" for an incomplete federal marking is highly irresponsible, inaccurate, and completely disregards NFA compliance standards. Update: Gunsmith used a post-2000 spring on a 1999 block. The loop is too narrow, sits loose, and will pop off under 3.5" magnum recoil, causing a dangerous trigger lockup.
