Amazing survival training! Loved the setting, the food was amazing and the hands on learning with tricks and tips I haven't seen before make this my absolute favorite survival school so far. I'm definitely taking the next level course, but this has become the standard for me that I'll compare to all others. Best survival school in Texas, hands down.

This weekend I attended the Level 1 Basic survival course with #texassurvivalschool with…read more#DIVAWOW...... The Facility is based in a open/wooded area off the banks of a creek... Very easy to find (off the highway) but passing a cemetery on the way on Halloween weekend was a little funny/creepy. A Family friendly atmosphere~ Very reasonable prices. Kids go for free and once you pay for your course, oh and you can go again to the same level for free! Who does that? this speaks volumes of the instructors. They genuinely want you to learn and practice your survival skills. Oh I can't give enough positive reviews about the Instructors.... all three (Ray, Chris & Eric) followed the "I do, We do, You do" training keys.... each are aware of the participants purpose/ goal of each activity....demonstration of the skill and then complete a guided practice of the skill. We practiced building a fire, building a shelter, tying knots, using a compass to navigate, and critical first aid... Instructors interacted with each participant, giving immediate feedback and additional help when needed. However pacing of the activities was appropriate. It is a lot to take in. Yes I know camping but being able to advance my skills in a basic class was amazing and can't wait to use my skills on my own. Each Instructors is extremely knowledgeable, down-to-earth, patient, and funny! They are passionate about what they are doing & want you to ask questions You can easily recognize the effective teaching strategies that were implemented so naturally to these instructors. Overall, excellent experience. Can't wait to do this again.

We never made it to the jump…read more #1 The name/business operation seems shady. They are operating under the name North Texas Sky Dive, First Flight Tandems, and Cowtown Skydive (that's the company name that showed up on our bank statement). This is confusing and makes me nervous. #2 We scheduled a jump on the afternoon of our 1 year anniversary LAST JUNE. We were told the weather was bad and we couldn't jump. Understandable, but can we have our $100 deposit back? No. We were told that it's the nature of the business and to get over it. I hate this. I could see if the date was not special, but it was to us. I could see if this was a major corporation where exceptions, etc. just aren't possible but this place is clearly a mom and pop. Scott could have easily refunded us the deposit. #3 We contact them again to reschedule. Same thing, they wait until an hour before we're about to leave and call to cancel. We ask again - please refund us the $100 since as a business Scott is not having to write anything off. No. He went on to tell us that he has over 350 on his re-schedule log dating much farther back than us. This pisses me off. 350 x $100 = $35,000.00 IN INCOME THAT THEY HAVE NOT EARNED! Scott hasn't had to do anything except phone to cancel. And he doesn't want to refund $100??? #4 It's been nearly 1 year since we first set up and scheduled a jump for our anniversary. We have tried multiple times to reschedule and it always fails to work out. I've stopped telling my friends & family we're planning to jump because it likely won't happen & it doesn't. Today was another failed attempt. It took 10 phone calls between Scott & his wife Ben to get this scheduled today - they called 1.5 hours before we have to leave - cancelled. At this point, I'm going to chalk the $100 up as a loss. It makes me angry but in the long run, it only hurts him and his business to be unfair. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS. They may be $50 cheaper than skydivedallas but it isn't worth it. And bottom line, most people choose mom and pops over the larger business because they want to be fair and they expect a 'boutique' experience that you wouldn't get with larger competitors - not the case here.

This place was amazing! Ben & Scotty and the entire team take the best care! I was scared to death…read moreand they made my first jump the most incredible experience EVER!
