The store itself and the product selection were fine. What was not fine was the behavior behind the counter. While I was in the store, an older man working behind the counter carried on an extended conversation with another customer that involved repeated derogatory comments about Mexican Americans and American Spanish speakers. This wasn't a single offhand remark -- it went on for a noticeable amount of time, openly and unapologetically, right in front of other customers. What made it even worse was how comfortable they seemed saying it, as if they assumed everyone in the store either agreed or couldn't understand them. I understood exactly what was being said, and it created an uncomfortable, hostile environment that no customer should have to tolerate. Personal opinions have no place being broadcast from behind a retail counter, especially when they cross into ethnic or racial slander. Allowing that behavior reflects poorly on the business and its leadership. I will not be returning, and I would strongly encourage management to address this immediately. read more

What a cool little shooting range/ shop you to come meet some of the locals in the area. The owner and other family members/employees are really down to earth and down right respectful. It really makes for a experience that has a homey feeling that makes me want to keep coming back. I'm in love with a lot of the clothes they have for sale here, I'm a huge sucker for Trump Merch and will be stocking up here lol. I love the look overall at this place, all of the decor runs really well together or is just funny lol. I've saved some of the funny stuff for your eyes to see for yourself. Nice shop. Bigger than expected. Very complete with merchandise with room to spare. Staff was welcoming and the range tops off the store as a destination. One issue detracts from professionalism and being family friendly: I'm no fan of the current administration but, derogatory depictions of the First Lady with juvenile captions hanging over counter-space are out of place. Tale of Two Stores: Three weeks ago my wife and I went to purchase a gun after being told to check out the store by a friend. Colt was EXTREMELY friendly and amazing to deal with. He showed us a variety of guns, discussed various options, and let my wife shoot the gun to make sure she liked it before purchase. Today, we went back so I could purchase one. I was "helped" by a tall, older, bald headed gentlemen. Personality? 0. Friendliness? 0. After getting out the guns I asked to see, i was having trouble getting the slide to go back. Instead of helping, he laughed at me for a minute before telling me what to do and stating "they're called slide locks for a reason". I asked to shoot both so I could make my decision (like my wife had last time). He told me no because they are new and that would make them used guns. A friend asked what happens if I don't like it, he said I could resell it but at the used price....much like when you drive a car off the lot. My wife told him we got to shoot it last time and he had no reply. We left, never to buy from them again. read more

I have been dealing with them since 1985, great bunch of people great prices and can get anything you need.

Have been shooting there once a week for about 2 months and was beginning to develop a relationship with this LGS, just purchased a new holster the week before from them. My pistol had plastic sites and was in the process of installing aftermarket sites but was unable to remove the rear site screw ( pistol forums did say the use red locktight). I tried the suggestions of using acetone or heat to loosen the locktight but to no avail so I dropped it off with them. They call me back and tell me its going be be $40 to remove the screw, I said ok since they had my gun and needed it done. 10 minutes later they call me and tell me its ready but it's now $50 since they had to use heat , which didn't seem so hot to as to damage the plastic. There was no dove tail so a slide pusher was not required to remove the existing site. Not complaining about the original quote as they are free to charge whatever they want and I OK'd it, just as it's my right to take my business wherever I want. read more

To say this a great gun store is simply not enough...the folks are amazing and the deals often beat online deals. The Lowreys are like family and if it didn't take almost 2 hours to get there (i hate I 30) i'd be there often. How anyone can visit this store and give it a bad review is simply not understandable....but life is full of weird strange people and that's that. Worst store ever. I've been in there twice. Both times very unhelpful, bordering on rude employees. More interested in sitting around talking than helping customers. Have items in their display cases that are not for sale yet are displayed as if they are. Won't waste my time with them ever again. Would rather drive further for better service. read more

First time shooting a gun for an extended period of time and let me tell you that there are a lot of nerves involved with shooting for the first time. The shooting range specialist, Dennis, was very helpful and enthusiastic. He truly made my experience there one to remember. I'm visiting from California so this type of hospitality especially at a range is very rare over back west. Very generous people working there and very hospitable especially to us less experienced folk. I would recommend coming here if it's your first time as they won't hesitate to show you the ropes. I have been there several times and I've never experienced the service problems of some other reviewers. I'm not saying their problems didn't happen, but I haven't seen it. In fact, on many occasions they have been down right helpful. I got my CHL there last year and bought my first gun from them today. After checking prices hard, I got a good deal on a 1911 and Mickey offered me the best deal on my trade-in .380. Went there first time a few weeks ago. Looked at their pre owned and ended up buying one. Like the gun, but see I could have bought it brand new for ten bucks less at cabelas or sports authority with warranty and paperwork. Should have shopped more before I bought, especially after getting the first impression of the guy helping me that he was a former used car dealer. Buyer remorse, yes, but not because of the gun. Rather, because I feel taken advantage of if only for a few bucks. Given my first experience and impression, I will not ever purchase there again. Just bought a glock. Never owned a 9mm. The sales rep stayed on his cell phone the whole time he was helping me. Was telling someone about buying guns for next to nothing and selling them on a website. Said he made his car payment and half of his wives in one night. That is when I should have walked out.I paid $150 for 500 9mm rounds. When I got home I realized they were reloads I could buy on the internet for $45.
