I took by boat in to get a new fish finder installed I purchased from them. I get it back and the boat is damaged. Unfortunately, I didn't see it during pickup nor was I really looking. I stopped 15 minutes down the road to fuel the boat up and noticed where they ran something into the bump rail one the front of the boat. It ripped the rail, cracked the fiberglass, etc. I called them immediately and they started a review process. They supposedly looked at all their camera footage and said nope, we didn't do it. ABSOLUTE BS. I'm sure they get people blaming them for stuff they didn't do but I am not one of those people. Now I am stuck with getting it repaired myself. If they have footage of every minute the boat was there, they would see it happened there. As a side note, you couldn't damage the boat while it was on my truck with where the damage was. It has to be disconnected from the vehicle for this damage to happen. Oh, also, the boat had greasy hand prints on it. In itself, not a big deal but when you consider that, and arguing with me, they do not care about their customers. I am cancelling my Cabela's card and will never shop their again. Hubby received a gift card for Christmas so we came to spend it! He headed straight to the fishing lure aisles where he walked around like a kid in a candy store. Of course he found a bunch to purchase. I must say that the store shelves were very well stocked with a great selection. I was looking for a new hiking backpack and found one that had all features I was looking for. I had fun looking at the taxidermy animals and live fish. Horrible customer service at the gun shop. Had a question on the design of the trigger and he didn't know the answer. Instead of having a conversation on the manufacturer design. He just stated don't buy the gun and went to put it back in the glass display. I was not questioning him but more on the manufacturer design. I left after being rudely treated. I went to purchase a firearm and went to the counter to ask a question because it wasn't busy at all. The gentleman behind the counter told me to log in using the QR code to wait in line for service. And that was all fine but the one catch was it was not busy at all and there was at least four guys back there behind the counter just standing up and when I asked them for help, it look like I was bothering them so in lieu of the rude service or looks they were given me we just decided just to leave and never come to this business again. All ammo is 30%-50% more expensive for the exact same calibers and brands that can be found less than 5 minutes down the road at Academy Sports. Thursday early afternoon. 5-6 clerks rotating and almost no customers. Gun counter enforcing their queue and you must provide a phone number for them to acknowledge you; it is extremely impersonal. I drove 30 minutes to look at one pistol, stood around for 15 minutes, gave up and left, then drove right across the street instead. My advice, spend less money on making your store look amazing and spend a little time on training your personnel. read more

God awful experience. Went here last weekend and bought a sig p250. Staff didn't seem very knowledgeable yet talked to me like I was stupid. I got a delay on the background check which I know happens. Employee told me that the longest I'd have to wait for it is 72 hours which I believed because I wasn't aware Cabela's doesn't follow the federal law and has their own policy. It has now been 5 full business days. I have tried calling 50+ times over the past 2 days and either don't get an answer or get immediately get hung up on before I can even speak. There is nothing that could possibly make me get denied on the NICS so I will be coming to the store today and expect to either get my gun or get a refund and taking my business to a local shop that doesn't make up their own rules and have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I try my best to buy something here ever time I come but boy, if it requires an employees assistance, it seem they would prefer to keep what they have. I just stood at the knife counter to replace a bench made knife and he was happy to help two other guys and stand with them during their pauses. Never once did he acknowledge my standing there. They double charged me for my cart which was already $888.66 My card was hit for total of $1770.32 I reported this to the fraud department with my bank and followed up with report to BBB because the customer service at this location refused to refund one of the duplicate drafts from my account and their customer service hotline for in-store payment processing also said they cannot help This location either has a malicious infection in their POS system or they are crooks and should get jail time. It's been 85 hours and the only thing from Cabelas is "just wait another 72 hours" NEVER coming back. I hope to never come back here EVER. I placed an order online for three items, all three shipped to the store (a firearm and two different kinds of ammo). Not to mention, my email said they would hold all items until November 9th. When I went to the customer service counter, they told me that one of my items was a "same day pick up" item, therefore, they no longer had it. Mind you, I didn't receive a refund or notification that my item was no longer available. They ended up finding one but told me they would look for the other to double check, but in the meantime, go to the gun counter to check in to receive my firearm. I went to the gun counter and everyone was busy, which was fine. But there was one guy who wasn't and my phone wasn't loading to get in line so I asked him to help me and it was like he didn't want to help nor want to be at work. After getting in line, I was told I was the next person to be helped, however, many people were walking up to the counter receiving assistance, all of which were middle aged white men. I hate to put race into it, but I wondered if I was an older white male if I would've gotten the same treatment. After waiting over 15 minutes, an associate walked up to the counter and rushed over before anyone else could get to him and I asked him to help me. He did. He assisted with the paperwork with my firearm, however, when doing my background check, another (idiot) associate walked by and whispered VERY LOUDLY, "check the Drivers License". If I had not waited so long and not been so ready to leave, I would've reacted a different way, but it gave me the impression that they were looking for reasons to not give me the firearm I already paid for by the way. Anyways.....I received it and had to go back to customer service to receive my ammo. Went back to be told they didn't find the other part of my order. When trying to process my refund, I used a debit card and he tells me I can't use a debit card to receive a refund because it's debit. It was the card I used to place my order, why did debit or credit even matter? I had to press credit to receive my refund even though I used my debit card. As all this was happening, another lady walks up, asks for a manager and tells him that a worker walked by them, they had an altercation and the worker signed "f you" in ASL. All of this to say. The workers are sh*t. Customer service is sh*t. And if you're anything other than a white male/female, come assertive because they're going to treat you different. read more

**Update - I made the long drive back to Cabela's to only have the matter shrugged off by a sales representative saying that the item wasn't actually marked on sale. Came home and filed a complaint with the BBB, then finally got a call from somebody who was helpful. I wasn't able to return the item due to the fact that I paid in cash and didn't want to drive to the store yet again, but they did offer me a gift card to make up for the difference along with the hassle. ......................................... Check the original sticker under a sale price sticker before buying! I recently purchased a Gore-Tex rain coat listed with an orange 'on sale' price tag. When I got it home I lifted the sticker off and the original sticker price was cheaper than the sale price. I love shopping at Cabela's but this kind of shady business practice will keep me from coming back. I have to say this place has it all: for outdoorsy, hunters, Rambo type of people lol! When my dad comes to town this is his number one store to come to. This time around the customer service was extra amazing and got him hooked on the store card- gave him 20$ credit, a cool bag, a cap and some discount for using the card that day. He was a happy camper! He bought himself boots, pants, shirts and some items to work on his farm back at home. Totally recommend this store! Review #5 Yelp challenge 2017: This can be a fun store to shop if you have kids in tow. They have stuffed trophies all around the store. Just have to look up! In the rear of the store is a huge aquarium loaded with varies fish. The area is set up with multiple stuffed critters in varies stages as they might appear in the wild. I own several dehydrators and have found the cures I buy from here when mixed with my own recipes are pretty darn tasty. The food sealers cabelas sells are some of the best I've ever used throughout the years. In store sales are often better then the Internet. They have all sorts of fishing gear and hunting equipment. The biggest issue related to this store is disorganization. As a frequent customer it is annoying. I have noted on multiple visits that many employees seem to gather at the front of the store and just linger. Why are they not on the floor working or organizing products? Maybe assisting customers would be asking too much? Yet, I keep going back. read more

Went in this morning to purchase Ammo, per banners and employees "you can get eight boxes rather than five, if you have a Cabelas card". Get to the check out and find out you have to purchase the eight boxes with the cabelas card. I have cash, I have a debit card, I have a multitude of credit cards. This is a store policy that changes depending on you're cashier. Nothing in writing, not a corporate policy(called and verified). Wow, guess I'll grab five boxes and stop being a customer and switch over to being a consumer. Will continue getting five boxes, as I won't be forced on how I will pay for a product. Can we all appreciate how beautiful these boats are, and the size of the motor on the blue Ranger is so ridiculous that I completely love it. I mean how much power do you need on these thing?? it's a masterpiece just hands down. I want me one of these, I don't even fish but I feel like I need to hound my husband to get one. It's best to know what to expect when walking in here. First, the place is big and has tons of outdoor, hunting, fishing, apparel and shooting stuff to look at. It's fun to just walk around and check out their items. Stores like these are a mini destination unto themselves. Service can be a hit or miss depending on who you get. Don't expect friendly smiles and people approaching you all the time like at Scheels, nor at the checkout station. In fact, that's why this place is emptier than Scheels on a weekend. It's just a good place to have as an option for price comparison or for product availability compared to Scheels or an Academy Sports. Used to spend a lot of money at Cabela's but won't anymore due to the absolutely poor service, horrible communication and misrepresentations made in the service department. Unfortunately not the first time, but will be the last. Don't buy a boat from them and expect a satisfactory experience in their service dept. selling my boat and cancelling my Cabela's Card. Bad went to worse. Got $30 in toll bills on my trailer when they had my boat in their custody for warranty work. And this is after I had to pay a professional to clean the boat due to the condition it was left in due to repairs. Left several messages with service Mgr and no response and no contact back with corporate customer service after 10 days. Mind boggling. read more

Effective Mar 10th they will still practice virus mitigation but not require customers to wear masks. They can if they want but otherwise customer's choice. We have shopped here several times since they opened years ago. Lots and lots of great stuff and helpful staff. I'm shocked they are still in business with customer service this constantly poor. Every purchase I have made requiring an employee's assistance has been unbearable. I try to buy a kayak from out front, guy at the front tells me to go to the boat salesman and get the seat. Boat salesman obviously annoyed tells me seats are out on the floor. They are not. Guys in the boat section can't find the seat and gives me the tag from a kayak at the back of the store so I can check out but nobody can muster enough manpower or direction to bring it out. Finally they figure out there are some new ones in the back and have me drive around to get one of those. Loaded by me and my 13yo daughter. Month later I try to buy a reel. Reel guy must be spooling line for G.W. Bush because he cannot be bothered by me or the other gentleman in need of assistance. Finally another employee has to come answer the phone and is then shamed into helping us. I request a reel and am told they only have it in left hand. I ask when they will receive some in right hand? He has no idea. I ask if they have something comparable. He shows me a different brand. I ask what are the differences between the two and he seriously replies "$40" I walk away. Tonight as I am shopping they announce that it's 8:30, store is closing please bring your purchases to checkout. I do. Along with 15 others. Apparently the manager isn't a forward thinker as there is only 1 cashier. Finally 3 employees walk up but nobody opens any registers. I just put down my merchandise and leave. I will not be back. The only thing anyone up there seems passionate about is getting you signed up for their damn credit card lol. read more
