I overall really love TGE. I bought my Mossberg 590 and Joe the Shotgun Counter attendant was extremely helpful and kind. I recently had some time on the range and one of the RSOs was helpful in giving me some tips on my stance, he was super helpful and educational. Overall I love Texas Gun Experience, I think they are so kind and really and great examples of traditional Texas hospitality at its finest. Here for a USCCA active shooter class for my church's security team, and honestly, this place made a strong first impression. The class was taught by Stacy, a USCCA instructor, and not only was it solid training, but it was completely free. Can't beat that. The facility itself is impressive. Weapons everywhere, but in a clean, organized, professional way. Plenty of staff walking around, ready to answer questions or show you something if you're curious. I showed up about five minutes late and the young lady at the counter didn't miss a beat--super friendly and got me to the class right away. The ranges are set up beautifully. I'm retired military and have shot in thousands of ranges, and this one still stood out. Well-designed, well-maintained, and clearly run by people who take pride in the space. The range price was great and reasonable. The store side is stocked with every accessory you could want--or didn't know you wanted--for your weapons. Tons of parking too, which made getting in and out a breeze. Overall, great facility, great people, great training. Definitely worth coming back. read more

I discovered the Texas gun experience soon after moving to Texas in December 2021. They are an all in one gun store. The Metroplex Arms Collectors, of which I am a member, meets there. USCCA has many functions there. I am also a member there enjoying the benefits of belonging to this excellent gun store. They have a large stock of weapons and ammo for sale, training, and beautiful indoor ranges to practice your shooting at. If you're in the area, please stop by and check it out. My buddy called me up today to say let's shoot today. I said Giddie up!! Let's go! First time at this range, and all I have to say it's worth the drive from the house, not too bad for Labor Day. My buddy is high end to say the least and all of his weapons were high grade for sure, especially his AR-15. I only brought 2 of my pistols to show off, and he liked my H&K SKVP9 the most. Honestly, I appreciate that this range has one or at least two skilled watchers at all times during our range time to make sure you're safe, Bravo!! BTW!! We're three guys visiting a buddy of mine that lives in Allen, Texas We decided that it would be really fun to go, shooting fire, some handguns and of course, some machine guns. I was able to fire an original 1921 Thompson submachine gun which is always been a dream of mine . I also was looking at buying a Chiappa Rhyno which they had available for rent in the 357 caliber. One of my friends fired three different machine guns and I'll have to say is it was just an amazing experience. The staff was mostly helpful, except for one of the cashiers we found was a little bit rude. I don't think he liked dealing with Tourists too much. However, we still had an amazing time. Prices were reasonable. One of us fired three machine guns with rounds for $112. I have myself fired the Thompson submachine gun with one drum with 50 rounds and an additional 50 rounds of the 357 for the handgun . The cost was $213. If you're looking for something fun to do, I highly recommend going to this Texas gun experience . Being from California we don't have things like this. read more

Staff was awesome and very helpful when we arrived for our first time. The place is huge with lots of lanes and options to purchase. The three of us spent about $100 for 1 hour in the lane, targets, headphones, amo, and eye protection. We went on Sat. morning when they opened and there was no wait. Great place and I would definitely go again! They also have a monthly membership that could be a good deal if you would go a few times a month. read more

So, I snagged a rifle online, put down a deposit, and thought Texas Gun Experience would be a blast for the pickup. The online pics made it look like a top-notch spot, but boy, was I in for a letdown. Walking in felt great--like a kid in a candy store. But when I asked the lady at the front desk where to grab my gun, she just pointed to anyone in a red shirt, and it felt like she was brushing me off. Found a guy in red (Gus), who asked if I'd shopped there before. Which I told him no. You'd think he'd be extra helpful, right? Wrong. He couldn't focus on our deal, kept chatting with others, and I ended up feeling like a transaction, not a customer. After Gus, (Konnor) took over, at this point nothing improved on the customer services side. No greeting, no nothing. Haven't tried shooting there yet, which was one thing I really wanted to do. Despite the cool setup, I'm not sure if I'll bother going back after this disappointing first visit. Bummer. read more

MILITARY STAY AWAY An employee just got pissy because I was walking a cleared pistol from the area where you put cases and ammo to the firing line. His explanation was that it's impossible to tell whether the pistol is cleared. Since he was working as a range safety I don't know how he can't tell whether a pistol has ammo or not by racking the receiver or asking that it be left open to move to the firing line. I explained that in the military it was our safe area to move cleared guns to the firing line before loading which provided a safe environment for everyone. He got butt hurt and told me that he was military too and that they're civilians at this location. What the hell does that have to do with reviewing a common sense approach to safety??!! So we checked out, took things to my truck and I went back in to inquire as to their range operations SOP and the boss was apparently too busy to discuss it with me. Sounds like he wasn't interested. I'll pass the word along to other military. However, if you're civilians wanting to shoot machine guns go have fun. read more

I'm in shock. Took spousal unit to the TGE range to shoot her new FN Reflex and get the Holosun dialed in. Checked in with range and our total for one lane, one hour, $60 bucks. Nearly half that price at RifleGear. I just picked my bag up and left. I used to prefer TGE because of their extensive, well laid out retail selections. But, have struggled with their customer service, support, and NOW an absolutely ridiculous price for the range. Won't go back! Anyone else pay those kinda prices at your range? read more
