I called the shop asking for something relatively specific, was told to email them and they would send what they had. I emailed them, two days pass without reply so I call back. The guy on the other end puts the phone down and I hear him calling across the store that it's "that jackass calling again about ____". The two guys then comment about how the phone isn't on hold after realizing I probably heard them insult me for following up with them about something I heard they might have. They actually had pretty much what I was looking for but 0% chance I would ever buy anything from these people. I don't expect to be insulted for following up on potential business. Visited 2 weeks ago after lunch with daughter who just moved to Dallas. My daughter found a great old rifle from the 1800's. Mr. Jackson told us history of the use and we purchased to hang over my Desk in Memphis. Lot of inventory for collectors at any level to enjoy! I'll be back on my next trip:-) read more

They have so many very interesting old and new(er) pieces that your eyes will move in two different directions trying to absorb it all when you walk in. The owner has a lot of knowledge on many subjects. Be prepared to spend a lot of time looking at their offerings. Bring your high limit credit card because you will find all of the interesting stuff you wanted to buy for the last 30 years here. read more

I've used Jackson Armory as a FFL transfer dealer on multiple occasions over the past 20 years. I have always been treated courteously and with respect. Since it's a small store, I try to avoid going there on Saturdays. I typically go when they first open at 10:00 am on Tues, Wed, or Thurs. At those times, there is plenty of parking and not too busy. All the men who work there are very knowledgeable and helpful to me. I'm headed there this morning to pick up a pistol I ordered online. I'm also taking several firearms with me to get their perspective and ballpark value estimate. They are serious about their business. Went in to look at a specific gun I'd seen on gunbroker since I'm local. I talked to Kevin. He must be the rude one others have referred to or there is more than one So after looking at the MRC Creedmoor I'd come to see I offer him $950, its listed in store at $1350, but starting bid on gunbroker is $1050. He says that is a loss and he can do $1300. When I point out that it's on gunbroker for $1050 he cuts me off, makes a talking motion with his hand, and tells me I can keep talking but nothing is changing. I turned around and walked out. Won't ever go back there again. I know the type. He doesn't care what anyone thinks, which is a type I don't do business with. I'm also not going to pay $250 more for the same gun just because I walked into the store instead of buying online. read more

Very accommodating. I called and asked how much they would charge for appraisals and was told that they don't do them. Sam said that I could take them in or send photos of them and they would let me know the value of the gun. I asked how much that would cost and Sam said nothing. Great assortment of weapons, almost felt I was in a museum. I talked to a couple of gentlemen and both quite friendly. One took the time to show me around and told me of stories of the memorabilia they had. Lots of folks kept coming in, and it was a little tight in moving about the store. I visited the store and was treated like they were not interested or too busy. One of the owners was speaking with me and just cut me off and started helping another person while I was left standing in the area. My husband has been a customer at Jackson Armory for years and I still fondly recall the first time he brought me here. If you like old firearms this place is a visual feast! Jackson Armory has a wide selection of vintage and modern firearms packed into their small storefront and there's always something interesting to find here. The employees are a bunch of friendly gun aficionados, very knowledgeable and willing to talk about anything and everything in the store. We've done a bit of gun trading here over the last couple of years and always come out with an equitable deal where everyone is happy with the exchange. I've never been here on a day it wasn't busy and yet the employees are always attentive. Jackson Armory is a real gem and I highly recommend them for any gun-related business you wish to conduct--buying, selling, trading, gunsmithing services, shipping to an FFL, really good conversation, etc. Go check them out! read more

These guys have an amazing selection of vintage guns and a room dedicated for the display and sale of old books. I could easily spend a couple of hours in here, even though the shop is fairly small. Best part for me is that Brandon Luter of Luter Armory, a gunsmith who specializes in vintage guns, is here every Saturday. Last year, he cleaned and checked out a family heirloom Savage 1907 that I thought was just going to be a keepsake and got it to working condition, so I brought him another family hand-me-down in a Colt revolver to clean and check out. My visits have only been on Saturdays and they always have a small crowd there talking about various old guns dating back to every war in America. If you're looking for something off the beaten path to do and are in the area of Snider Plaza, stop by. It's an education and definitely something you won't see every day. read more

I drove from San Antonio to check this place out, I'm on their website every night checking out the Awsome inventory. They buzz u in so I wait at the door, was in the store 15 min not one person said hi how are you can I help you, not one word to me, in fact I was very much in their way, they would squeeze by me without even saying excuse me, totally in their way hahahah I'll never go back. There was one nice older gentleman/surgeon but everything else was horrible! I went in with my family. We told an employee our price range, he said, not here and tried to send us out the door...should have left then but then we saw guns in our $ range and we stayed to look around. Seems he wanted us out before we began shopping. My little one went to RR with me. Dad had to go a few minutes later and we told him it was in back hall. He came back a second later and said we were being thrown out of the store! I thought he was joking but a man was standing behind him with his hands in his pockets, where his gun was. He said my husband took a wrong turn and he should have known better, since my girl went to RR earlier. He did not see where we had gone. I apologized and said I was sure it was an honest mistake. My husband is one of the most upstanding men I know but we were "thrown out"/ really we left ourselves because the situation quickly became scary!!! I do not recommend, very rude. May have even been a racist situation. My husband is darker. The worker did not yell but hands in pockets while getting heated...it's a gun store, employees should not come across threatening ever and I was with my child! read more
