A sporting goods store gets 5 stars? Absolutely!! This place in a word is just fun, the Ferris wheel, the beef jerky bar, the mini restaurant. Love the firearms section too! They have an incredible grilling section, a shooting gallery, and higher end athleisure wear like Vuori! It's a good thing that this place is 300 miles away from me, otherwise it'd be here all of the time!

This store is amazing. We stopped in during a visit to the Dallas area and was blown away by this store. The store itself is huge, and they have an enormous selection of sporting goods, fan gear, and clothing options. Not just locate market items, but they offer selections for all fan bases. All the staff we encountered were super helpful and knowledgeable. The pricing is equatable to other sporting goods stores. Hope they open one in Houston soon. They have a cafe inside, but we didn't eat there so I can't say anything about the food. The restrooms were clean. Parking - sufficient surface parking.

We're here in Texas for the Cotton Bowl, in support of University of Miami. Unfortunately, Scheels doesn't have any love for University of Miami. There was apparel for other college teams available, to include the other team playing in the Cotton Bowl, but none for Miami. I also think the Scheels in Reno is much nicer. It was a waste of time to come here!

I think what GS meant to sing was "All my excess lives in Texas"...and this Scheels location is the inspo. I have resisted visiting this store because their ad campaigns centered around a cookie cutter conservative fam with a sprinkle of kountry bonding over the deer they just shot did not appeal to me. A quick internet search will tell you more about their company culture. But, cut to me day drinking at Truck Yard and dinner at Hard 8 with visiting fam and it was either axe throwing, cigar bar, or retail therapy. I haven't been overwhelmed by a sporting goods store since the Bass Pro Pyramid in Memphis which has its own hotel and shooting range inside. Scheels is on par with a working ferris wheel, an aquarium, a candy store, a cafe, and to complete the collection: animatronic talking Nolan Ryan that equals the creepy museum mannequin vignettes so close to my heart. Add all of the weapons, comfy sportswear, next level BBQ/grill/smoker selection, plus exercise equipment and Scheels would be my first choice to be trapped in during a zombie apocalypse. Rule #1 = Cardio. Also, there is every kind of camo, and as a returning Texas resident, it will always be part of my wardrobe. Interesting collection of bronze statues out front. Everywhere you turn, IG paradise. Employees were kind and helpful, and prices were competitive.

the store was pretty large however the pricing on things was unreasonable even in the sale sections.

Huge store with Ferris wheel in it! Excellent athlete goods selection including fishing, kayaking, camping upstairs. The coffee shop was closed when we went. I was more impressed by the firearms selection. We did not purchase anything but the price is almost similar that of Brass Pro or Academy. Pleasant staff, clean and not chaotic. Great stop for families.

Could be the best Outdoor / Sporting supply store I've seen. High quality clothing and supplies for any sport. Something for everyone. Plan on spending time so you don't miss anything.

My first time at scheels and it was awesome. Super cool store that has everything you could think of. The workers were awesome and were quick to help me with any questions I had. The gun selection was awesome and they had all sorts of price values I was very tempted but decided not to at the end. I even saw a jackalope! This place was bussin.

This is a massive store. It has everything in it. There's a small putting green where you go and buy some golf clubs and golf balls which I think is pretty cool. You have basketball goal in a little court, where all the basketballs & footballs located. They have water sport type of equipment and products. Kids can have fun with the couple of video games in there & a Ferris wheel. The Trek bicycle shop is great. You have the nice fish tank with all the beautiful colorful fishes in there, I think I saw finding Nemo. You have a gun shop with all the latest guns, rifles, & pistols it's pretty cool. I do love the barbecue section, they have all your barbecue grills, pits, & Smokers. Anything you can think of is in there. I mean like, this store really has a lot of outdoor products and equipment. If you haven't been here yet, I suggest you find your nearest one, go and have fun. Store is very organized. Service was great and the prices were what you'd expect.

    Fun selection of Ariat boots.

I went to Scheel's to check out their shoe department. It's quite extensive and they carry quality brands. I tried on a few pairs of Vionic and Clark sandals but didn't end up making a purchase. We walked by the Cafe that's located within the store. Hubby has had lunch there a few times and likes their BLT sandwich. During the pandemic, Hubby and I came and test drove a couple of E-bikes. We just wanted to check them out and we enjoyed riding around the parking lot. I love all of the beautiful statues that they have out front. Of course the giant indoor Ferris wheel and fish tanks are quite the attraction. This store has a great selection of quality products in all departments. Prices are a little bit higher as you would imagine. Hubby loves to spend time in their fishing tackle aisles. It seems the longer he's there, the more he buys! He says "they've got me hooked!"

Scheels is NOT just another sports warehouse. This is a destination! We can spend an entire day as a family at Scheels. We take everyone who visits us here in TX to visit Scheels. We start with the amazing fishtanks at the entrance, make our way to the interactive photo space in the Cowboys football jersey, follow the amazing smell to the fudge shop, try on shoes, ride the ferris wheel - YES there is a FULL SIZE ferris wheel inside! Then we circle around to the children's department where there is an indoor kids playground. Then we eventually make it upstairs. We walk the gun department and take in all the amazing big game taxidermy (don't miss the 22' tall giraffe!) Then we circle around for the penny arcade which is a blast ($1 for 24 shots), take a few puts on the putting green, play arcade games, then peruse the seasonal home department on our way to the INDOOR bowling alley*! We play a few games then head to the Wildlife Mountain, which you really need to walk all the way around to enjoy. Then we stop by the novelty candy shop and reminisce. You could easily spend hours inside Scheels and spend less than $10. As for purchasing, their customer service is excellent and their employees are always so joyful and happy to help. We've also had multiple bikes serviced here and they have been excellent experiences. We actually purchased our son's bike here for Christmas one year. We left the bike with the bike department and they adjusted the seat, handlebars and installed training wheels for him. It was wonderful! *bring cash, half the time the credit card readers are down

I had been very inactive and recently had a surgery. I had temporarily put on a little weight and all my dress clothes were too tight. My brother unexpectedly passed, and his funeral was out of state. In a panic, I searched Yelp and found this place. The reviews, all though good , do not do this business justice. I consider myself stylish, and I like to dress well for something important. I met with Antonio and I was very impressed with his taste and his knowledge of fashion. Antonio walked me through the entire process of selecting everything I needed. Antonio listened to what I wanted, and he made suggestions that made things look great. I was shown everything and we found exactly what I needed. I was fitted and Antonio worked diligently to have it ready. I was treated so well. I had never had so many compliments on my look. The best part is that I am one of Antonio's customers now. When I lose the weight, I'm back to have my suit altered. I have made a great investment on something that looks fantastic and I am proud to wear. I will definitely be back and I plan on bringing my sons for a fitting. Also, there were some shoes and other accessories I was interested in trying on before buying. First, let's get this out of the way. The store doesn't carry any of the shoes, so that was a bust. I tried on probably 8 different styles of leggings. I found that for different styles I was a different size, which is a frustrating shopping experience...especially for a stretch product like leggings. In wearing the leggings, I find how they fit changes as you wear them/move in them, so I found myself doing a lot of dancing in the dressing room. In my size (L-XL) they had very few color options available in-store. So I had to try on colors I really hated just to get a sense of the style, length, and fit, and make notes of the ones I liked to later purchase online. It would be helpful if they offered "tall" sizes, or "even higher waist" versions, since I think my long torso is to blame for the high-waist leggings not really working like others do. I found the sales reps in the store to be odd. They were overly cheery/pushy sometimes, and then would completely disappear. The touchpads inside the dressing rooms would be cool if they worked. I requested help and different sizes a couple of times, and it never came. Also, when I came to the store I was wearing a pair of Fabletics leggings. I told one employee the challenges I was having with those leggings (they keep sagging even though they are supposed to be high-waisted) and if there were other leggings that might fit my body type better. She didn't give me any helpful feedback on other styles, and said to try a larger and smaller size of the same legging and see if that fixes the problem. This store does carry sports bras, which I was excited to try on. Unfortunately they really aren't made for women with larger chests. The "maximum support" bras give me low-to-medium support. In-store, they offer very few options for XL-sized sports bras, although there were many styles and colors available in XS, S, and M. In the style of sports bra I liked the most, there was only ONE available in the entire store and was covered in dust as it had been laying on top of a display that had clearly not been cleaned in weeks. There were a lot of cute tops I was interested in, but the styling was quite weird on me. The styles seem to be intended only for thin people with shorter torsos to wear. This theory was reiterated by the fact that I could find very few tops in the store in my size. Overall, I don't feel confident this store or this brand caters to women of my size. None of the tops and most of the leggings didn't fit right and are not flattering for my body type. It seems like some of the patterns were made for XS and just made bigger for larger sizes, which is always a recipe for disaster. The store had very few options for me to try on, and the whole point of me visiting the store was so that I could buy more from them online. Although I like some of the clothes they make, it's not for me, and I would recommend other women that fall in the large or above size range to seek another store.
