I've been to Scheels at Grandscape a couple times now and it's honestly a pretty fun place to walk around, even if you're not really looking for anything specific. The store is massive and there's a little bit of everything, from sports gear and clothes to shoes, outdoor stuff, and a bunch of other random things you don't really expect to see in one store. Everything was really clean and organized, and it was easy to walk around without feeling crowded. The staff was friendly and helpful when I had a question, but they also gave me space to look around, which I appreciate. There's also a lot to see in the store, so you can definitely spend more time there than you originally planned. The location at Grandscape is really convenient too, especially if you're already out there shopping or grabbing food. Overall, it's a cool store with a lot to offer and definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. Even if you don't end up buying anything, it's still kind of fun just walking around and seeing everything. They also have a ton of good deals with great value! I have only shopped here once in store. I was looking for a specific item that I could not find anywhere else locally I noticed this location had this item in stock and I purchased it online for in store pick up. The next morning I was at the store and it had to be one of the best shopping experiences I have ever had. I arrived before they opened and while I was waiting I got an email stating my order was ready. I went in and went to the specific counter and they quickly processed some information I needed to fill out and I was done. I was in and out in 15 mins. The only reason it even took that long was I was looking at a few things. They have a great selection of sporting goods. Camping gear, clothing, firearms, even knives are plentiful. All the associates were very friendly and helpful. Store is super clean and well organized. Scheels blows sporting good stores like Bass Pro/Cabelas out of the water. Scheels is the ultimate sports store...and truly its so much more than that! There is an indoor ferris wheel, candy shop, toy shop, ammo/guns, and they even sell seasonings and protein powder! You could quite literally spend a whole day here! The employees are helpful and attentive even though there are droves of people in there at all times. Even if you dont plan to buy anything, stopping by is an experience in itself and I highly recommend going in to just to window shop. I'm honestly surprised I've never written a review for Scheels before. I come here often--probably more than I should--and I genuinely love everything about this place. Scheels is absolutely massive and somehow manages to have just about everything you could possibly want for sports, hunting, outdoor activities, and more. The selection is impressive, the store is consistently clean, and the staff is generally friendly and helpful. Beyond the sporting goods, they also have an enormous selection of clothing, footwear, accessories, and other gear. One of my favorite things about Scheels is that they carry a lot of unique brands and products that you simply don't see at most other retailers. That alone makes it worth the trip. There are really only two downsides: it's almost always busy, and it's not cheap. That said, the sheer size of the store usually keeps the crowds from feeling too overwhelming--unless you're at checkout. And while the prices can definitely be on the higher side, I somehow manage to walk out with something almost every time. I honestly wish there were several Scheels locations throughout the Metroplex instead of just one. This is the kind of store you can spend hours wandering around in and still find something new. Imagine a sporting goods store with a Ferris wheel inside. Then, there is a glass aquarium that surrounds you with live fish swimming around. Next, there is a beef jerky bar and a bowling alley...This is eye candy for the consumer. The store has almost any sporting goods you can think of from golf to soccer. Then, you have found Scheels. Service was good. Although, we didn't buy anything we were offered help several times. The prices were high, but the quality of the sporting equipment and clothing was very well made. This isn't a store. It's a whole attraction in itself! Walking into the Scheels at Grandscape felt less like "running errands" and more like entering a Texas-sized amusement park that also sells everything you could ever need. This place is huge--two floors of sporting goods wonderland with a giant fish tank arch on the first floor! There are tons of Texas and Dallas Cowboys-themed photo ops, a literal Ferris wheel inside the store, and a massive café with food options, beef jerky bar, and tons of fudge and candied nuts. Back here to update my review as we returned just a few after our last visit. I'm impressed by all of the selections here. Mind you, items are not cheap here at Scheel's. What made it five stars this time? We discovered the mini arcade that had free racing games! It's awesome to have a few things for the kids to check out while shopping. The fish tanks, Ferris wheel, and taxidermy animals are all just a bonus for free entertainment. read more

I had a really poor experience here but Rodrigo who works in the weights/gym department is the reason for the two stars because of the 5 associates that "helped" me, he was the only one who took the time to check to verify if the product was in stock. I came in simply for a specific gym bag that I researched was here. One associate sent me upstairs, when I got upstairs another associate told me the bag was downstairs, when I got back downstairs, a 3rd associate told me it was upstairs. When I told him I was sent back downstairs he had another associate physically show me where it was, she took me halfway then pointed in the direction of the bags. Not sure why she couldn't take me the whole way, she was literally doing nothing at the time. Finally, Rodrigo actually used his mobile computer and confirmed they didn't have the bag in stock. This is a very chaotic store swimming with customers but the lack of sufficient help was ridiculous and I'll never return here again. read more

This store is amazing. We stopped in during a visit to the Dallas area and was blown away by this store. The store itself is huge, and they have an enormous selection of sporting goods, fan gear, and clothing options. Not just locate market items, but they offer selections for all fan bases. All the staff we encountered were super helpful and knowledgeable. The pricing is equatable to other sporting goods stores. Hope they open one in Houston soon. They have a cafe inside, but we didn't eat there so I can't say anything about the food. The restrooms were clean. Parking - sufficient surface parking. read more

I think what GS meant to sing was "All my excess lives in Texas"...and this Scheels location is the inspo. I have resisted visiting this store because their ad campaigns centered around a cookie cutter conservative fam with a sprinkle of kountry bonding over the deer they just shot did not appeal to me. A quick internet search will tell you more about their company culture. But, cut to me day drinking at Truck Yard and dinner at Hard 8 with visiting fam and it was either axe throwing, cigar bar, or retail therapy. I haven't been overwhelmed by a sporting goods store since the Bass Pro Pyramid in Memphis which has its own hotel and shooting range inside. Scheels is on par with a working ferris wheel, an aquarium, a candy store, a cafe, and to complete the collection: animatronic talking Nolan Ryan that equals the creepy museum mannequin vignettes so close to my heart. Add all of the weapons, comfy sportswear, next level BBQ/grill/smoker selection, plus exercise equipment and Scheels would be my first choice to be trapped in during a zombie apocalypse. Rule #1 = Cardio. Also, there is every kind of camo, and as a returning Texas resident, it will always be part of my wardrobe. Interesting collection of bronze statues out front. We're here in Texas for the Cotton Bowl, in support of University of Miami. Unfortunately, Scheels doesn't have any love for University of Miami. There was apparel for other college teams available, to include the other team playing in the Cotton Bowl, but none for Miami. I also think the Scheels in Reno is much nicer. We went during spring break & it wasn't crowded at all! The store was clean & there was no line to checkout. The staff were friendly & a highlight was the Ferris wheel in the middle of the store! Whoever runs this store needs to find whoever is the midnight shift leader at the local Long John Silvers and hire them to run the gun department because, good God, that would be a massive improvement. After waiting for 20 minutes with my drivers license, credit card and social security card visibly in my hand I had a lady cut me off in line. Man behind the counter sees it, I let it slide...and then when she's done the cashier takes another guy who had been there 30 seconds. Now I am pissed, but also fascinated at the incompetence I am witnessing. Out of boredom and curiosity I wait for the bald dilbert at the other cashier station to finally finish checking someone out, after 25 minutes, so I step forward. 3-4 minutes go by and he doesn't acknowledge my presence. Then he calls out the name of someone without even looking at me and proceeds to get into a lengthy conversation and I am back at square 1. 30 minutes, made it to the front, no acknowledgment of my existence. All of you people are not qualified to take change at a toll road. The savings on the firearms does not make up for the nonexistent customer service and lack of common sense that is hovering over this entire department. All of you suck at life. read more

I went to Scheel's to check out their shoe department. It's quite extensive and they carry quality brands. I tried on a few pairs of Vionic and Clark sandals but didn't end up making a purchase. We walked by the Cafe that's located within the store. Hubby has had lunch there a few times and likes their BLT sandwich. During the pandemic, Hubby and I came and test drove a couple of E-bikes. We just wanted to check them out and we enjoyed riding around the parking lot. I love all of the beautiful statues that they have out front. Of course the giant indoor Ferris wheel and fish tanks are quite the attraction. This store has a great selection of quality products in all departments. Prices are a little bit higher as you would imagine. Hubby loves to spend time in their fishing tackle aisles. It seems the longer he's there, the more he buys! This is a massive store. It has everything in it. There's a small putting green where you go and buy some golf clubs and golf balls which I think is pretty cool. You have basketball goal in a little court, where all the basketballs & footballs located. They have water sport type of equipment and products. Kids can have fun with the couple of video games in there & a Ferris wheel. The Trek bicycle shop is great. You have the nice fish tank with all the beautiful colorful fishes in there, I think I saw finding Nemo. You have a gun shop with all the latest guns, rifles, & pistols it's pretty cool. I do love the barbecue section, they have all your barbecue grills, pits, & Smokers. Anything you can think of is in there. I mean like, this store really has a lot of outdoor products and equipment. Scheels is NOT just another sports warehouse. This is a destination! We can spend an entire day as a family at Scheels. We take everyone who visits us here in TX to visit Scheels. We start with the amazing fishtanks at the entrance, make our way to the interactive photo space in the Cowboys football jersey, follow the amazing smell to the fudge shop, try on shoes, ride the ferris wheel - YES there is a FULL SIZE ferris wheel inside! Then we circle around to the children's department where there is an indoor kids playground. Then we eventually make it upstairs. We walk the gun department and take in all the amazing big game taxidermy (don't miss the 22' tall giraffe!) Then we circle around for the penny arcade which is a blast ($1 for 24 shots), take a few puts on the putting green, play arcade games, then peruse the seasonal home department on our way to the INDOOR bowling alley*! We play a few games then head to the Wildlife Mountain, which you really need to walk all the way around to enjoy. Then we stop by the novelty candy shop and reminisce. You could easily spend hours inside Scheels and spend less than $10. As for purchasing, their customer service is excellent and their employees are always so joyful and happy to help. We've also had multiple bikes serviced here and they have been excellent experiences. We actually purchased our son's bike here for Christmas one year. We left the bike with the bike department and they adjusted the seat, handlebars and installed training wheels for him. We bought an array of different things and even had a salted vanilla iced coffee in the cafe. My son thought the place was so cool and although pricing was higher it was mainly due to the name brands they carry. The Ferris wheel however is a steal for 1 dollar to ride.
