This Mission BBQ was my first time experiencing Mission BBQ ever... but it absolutely will not by my last! Decided to stop here for lunch while in town. I ordered the turkey with green beans. My husband got the brisket sandwich with mac and cheese and green beans. The service was speedy and courteous. Zero complaints! Our food was hot and fresh. The meat was melt in your mouth tender! Absolutely delish!! The best part of this whole experience was manager Nancy. She stopped at our table and asked how our meal was. We informed her that it was our first time at any Mission BBQ. She thanked us over and over again for giving them a try then surprised us with two free brownies and coupons for each of us for free sandwiches on our next visit. She was amazing and kind and it was evident she was the heart and soul of the place! Fantastic place for a fresh lunch! Highly recommend!!

I've been here twice now and it's one of the places I look forward to grabbing dinner when I'm in town. I would've been here more often but once they were closed for a private party. Each time I've been by it's been fairly busy inside. They have a lot of seating so it's hasn't been an issue. All the workers have been really friendly. They have a pretty good menu with great selections. I love brisket so I generally get the moist brisket sandwich and eat a few bites of my friend's ribs. So yummy! Each table has 6 different sauces you can choose from but they're all so good, just use a little of each! Also, the soda fountain has Sierra Mist! I wish I had a Mission BBQ where I lived.

The smell of BBQ when you walk into the door makes me miss Texas. The brisket sandwich was very tasty. Didn't need extra bbq sauce but the table has a few extra choices. The max and cheese was also tasty. One sandwich was filling enough for me, especially with the large scoop of meat. Place is a chain, for MD, VA, OH. I appreciate the military support and memorabilia on the walls.

Best bbq around. Doesn't get better then this! My fiancé and I both got the two meat sampler. They did not have cheesy potatoes which is my first go-to but they did have Mac and cheese and who doesn't love a good Mac!

Was so good had to go back and try it again the next day. I was visiting my cousin in York and couldn't find too many restaurants at night so we landed on this spot and it did not disappoint. The service was fantastic. The food came out super fast. The pricing is really good. The best part for me was all the sauces on the table. My goodness!!! I had a ball trying out all those different sauces. It was so good that I came back the next day for lunch on my way to Maryland. Great concept. Hope they open up one near me in New York.

It's very Pedestrian. It's not bad, but not great either. It's just boring BBQ fast food.

They do NOT have military or first responder discount. They do give out sandwiches on veterans day and through the year. Good sandwiches.

I placed my order online and went with a Hefty size Classic Cheesesteak, and a Husky size Philly Special Hoagie. Total after tax/tip was $34.00. How were they? Cheesesteak- Fantastic! Nice seeded bread, tons of meat and cooper sharp cheese. Onions were cut a little big and laid on top, so they started to fall all over the place (eat this outside your car, trust me!) while I was eating. Flavors were great, though! Damn fine cheesesteak and I would definitely return to get another. Hoagie- This thing was packed with goodies! They also use the "meat blanket" technique that I have only seen at LaSpadas down in Florida, previously. All the ingredients were well put together, HUGE, good bread, but there was a lack of tang in the olive oil/vinegar dressing. It was basically absent. That's why the 4 stars. Maybe you need to order extra or more vinegar? Something was definitely needed though. It was pretty plain tasting. Don't get me wrong, it was still a good sandwich, but it could have been a GREAT sandwich with some extra flavor of the oil/vinegar. This would definitely be my sandwich spot if I lived in York!

I'm so glad that I listened to my reasoning and didn't listen to the other reviews. Let's get this straight, if you are looking for "INSTA-FAMOUS" location and food presentation, this is NOT your place. The decor is actually something that made me giggle a little bit. 1980's style moulded booths (not fluffy friendly) about 6 on each side of the restaurant. A couple of plastic tables in the middle of the restaurant for large groups or "fluffy people" like myself. Dark red paint on the wall with only 1 piece of artwork, a sign that reads "We have no wifi, pretend it is 1995 and talk to people". (this endeared me most). A wood paneled counter for ordering. A lit up menu above the counter. A make shift utensil and seasonings table. An old trash can. and on this particular day 100's of boxes being made around us (impressively so). The picture I am painting is a 1980's pizza joint. And it really is exactly that, with perhaps the exception of instead of Ms. PacMan at the front, they have 4 gambling machines. To this Gen Xer, I found this refreshing and a true blast from the past. Another relic from the past is their staff. They still hire teenagers. This is both a great thing (teenagers need to work!) and a bad thing as the girls were LOUD and not particularly good at customer service. The adult supervising them was possibly reliving his youth in his ability to play with them. (it wasn't creepy, but, it was kind of sad), instead of managing them and showing them how to provide customer service. But, no one was nasty. Everyone was having a good time. And they got the job done. I ordered an italian boli and I asked for them to add mushrooms to it. They looked at me funny, but, eventually let me get them. My husband ordered an italian cold cut sub, we both ordered 2 large fountain sodas (as per 1980s decor, they came in styrofoam cups). The sub came out almost instantly, which is great if you are looking to eat and leave, but, we were hoping to sit and dine together. So, the nice warm bread, did eventually become cold as we waited or my Boli. The presentation of the sub was good, the meat was piled up well beyond the bread, the lettuce was niceley shredded, the tomato diced, and the oil and vinegar were the perfect mix. My boli arrived about 10 minutes later, just as I had ordered. For size purposes, I would say it was a medium pizza folded over. and sliced into three huge slices. For a small, it was definitely too big for one person to eat in one sitting. It was SOOOOOO cheesy and delicious. The crust was pillowy yet chewy, the cheese was ooey gooey, the meat was not too much, not too little and they did give me as I requested the mushrooms (fresh, not canned). This was delicious in itself, but, man...the sauce.....oh the sauce....it was so sweet and delicous and tasted like summer tomatoes off the vine. Not too thick...not too thin...the pillowy crust of the boli absorbed it perfectly, and together....it made heaven! At the end of the meal you are expected to clean up after yourself (just like any other 1980's pizza joint) and they were nice enough to ask us if we wanted refills on our cokes before we left. Over all: Ambience--I'd say it is a solid 2/5. If you are looking for a perfect date night where eveything is romantic, this isn't the place, unless you met at a 1980's pizza joint and then I think it would be crazy romantic. It's also quite loud just with the staff bantering about. Service: 4/5. They did what they were supposed to do and really nothing more. But, they did do what they were supposed to do. Food: I'm giving this a 5/5! It's hearty. It's well done. It's tasty. I left with left overs. (which after 2 nights in the fridge were still delicious when I reheated them) Cost: A perfect end of the non-pay week treat. Reasonable and hearty. We paid about $30 for our meal, which was ample.

It sounds bold, and it is, but it works beautifully. The broth is rich and deeply savory, the cheese pull is perfect, and the crispy rings add a texture you never knew the classic was missing. The pork chop remains the star of the menu--huge, expertly seasoned, and cooked with precision. It's widely considered the best in the city, and honestly might be the best in the state. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor, it's the kind of entrée you end up recommending to friends for weeks. Their octopus is another standout, prepared with surprising delicacy. Tender, not chewy, with a perfect char that adds just the right amount of smokiness. It's balanced, refined, and one of the most memorable small plates you'll find locally. And don't leave without dessert--the crème brûlée is phenomenal. Silky smooth custard under a flawlessly torched sugar crust that cracks just right. Simple, classic, and executed perfectly. Between the inventive dishes and the warm atmosphere, The First Post remains a must-visit for anyone who loves great food done exceptionally well.
