Brisket was moist and delicious. Many sides to choose from - we liked the green beans and coleslaw.

Love this place! I could eat here every day! The young people who always wait on me are always…read moresmiling and friendly! And the food so many good choices-biggest problem is what do I wanna eat today. Diffent 5star!

I wanna start by saying I did NOT get food poisoning...but if I did get food poisoning from this…read morerestaurants food I would still come back for more. I have genuinely never had a better experience at any food establishment than I did at Rocoto. My husband and I ordered the chicken and beef empanadas to start and the smell of the crust alone was enough to brighten our day but the whole of it altogether was an ethereal experience. Perfect combination of a delicious crunchy, flaky crust with a beautiful combination of flavors waiting inside. We would have been delighted to leave it at the empenadas, that alone would have been enough for a 5 (10 if I could) star review but we also ordered the birria tacos and the beef bistec a lo pobre which easily brings us up to a 30 star review. The tacos has a perfect balance of Oaxaca cheese and tender meat with a beautiful flavor and plenty of onion and cilantro and the perfect dipping broth to kick the flavor to the best birria tacos I've ever had. And the bistec a lo pobre with a side of fried plantains? Quoted directly from my husband, "I've never seen you have a slow blink because you've like a food this much." The plantains had such a beautiful flavor (that's the 3rd and probably not the last use of the word beautiful I've used in this review), the meat in and of itself was perfectly cooked and beautifully (see?) flavorful. I could have eaten that all alone but a big bite with the egg, plantains, meat and rice (which again, somehow could have been a perfect meal all on it's own. I can't imagine how someone makes rice taste soooo good but they've done it) was almost an exact reenactment of the scene from Rattatouille when he eats that piece of cheese with a strawberry and the scene shows fireworks and swirls as he discovered a newfound love of the new flavor combo. It almost feels like I've never had food before today it's thay good. You will almost never catch me wanting dessert at a restaurant but after what had been the best eating experience we've ever had we decided we had to stay a little bit longer, have some delicious chocolate cake and fried ice cream while we waited for our to-go order of empanadas to take home to enjoy later. The server was a very attentive lovely young woman who we sent to send our compliments to the owner (something we've never done) who was so kind to come over and chat with us for a minute. The restaurant was very calm, quiet and clean which is very refreshing for two people who are very tired of glaringly loud restaurants. The only noise we could hear between the two of us was laughter, joy and excitement over how good this food was. If you know the Lord you'll feel how blessed this food is....we walked into this restaurant after a deep heartfelt conversation about the sad things in our lives, shedding tears right outside in the car. From the moment we stepped in all the way up to writing this review 2 hours later we've experienced a joy like no other meal has ever brought us before. We can not wait to go back and bring everyone we know with us for as long as they'll let us in the building. If you've been thinking about trying this place out I say RUN, GO NOW! You do not know what you're missing.

HOW did I not know this place existed?!…read more I went to Franklin Street Social with a few friends on a random Wednesday evening a few weeks ago, and I am not exaggerating when I say my mind was BLOWN the second I walked in. Let me set the scene: 13 restaurants. FULL commercial kitchens. One central bar. A historic factory turned into a warm, vibey, eclectic gathering space. And yes...an actual slide for adults that delivers pure, unfiltered joy. We arrived just before closing and had no issues with parking -- plenty of spaces right outside and well-lit, which is always appreciated. But the second we walked in? Game over. This place is STUNNING. Think warm string lights, wood accents, quirky design details, and little surprises everywhere you look. There's even a book vending machine. Like...what?! And then comes the real challenge: choosing what to eat. With 13 options, this was honestly the hardest part of the night. I strongly considered just committing to chaos and getting one item from every vendor, but maturity (barely) prevailed. For my first visit, I went with a tempura shrimp bowl from one vendor and grabbed a kiwi strawberry drink from another so I could at least pretend I sampled the variety. My adventure buddies did the same -- everyone ordered from different spots and we met in the middle at a shared table. That's one of the best parts of this place. No negotiating menus, no compromising -- everyone gets exactly what they want and you still get to share the experience together. The food? Delicious. No notes. The vibe? Immaculate. And yes... I went down the slide. Obviously. And you should too. Do not skip it. Pro tip: have someone waiting at the bottom to capture the moment because the smile you'll have coming down that thing is 100% genuine joy! Also -- and I can't believe I'm saying this -- check out the bathrooms. I know, I know...weird Yelp detail. But trust me. Each one is uniquely themed, and the one I ended up in had animals wearing wild outfits. It was chaotic, hilarious, and somehow completely on brand for the space. Franklin Street Social isn't just a place to eat. It's a place to hang out. To explore. To people-watch. To linger. I could have easily spent hours there just soaking it all in. If you haven't been yet, make it a destination. Seriously! I'll absolutely be back -- probably with a bigger appetite and slightly less self-control next time.

Been here twice now on the recommendation from family. Stopped once before the Tartan Terrors at…read morethe Appell Center and again just cause we enjoyed it so much the first time! I'm not a heavy drinker but I enjoy a social drink now and then. They have an excellent selection of seasonal brews for every taste. (I like more light beers while my husband and father in law prefer the darker ones) Food wise you can't go wrong with their BBQ. I had gotten a fish and chips special in March and I wish they still had it on the menu! Fish was so light and crispy, not greasy like most I've had. This time I had the half chicken which came with a corn bread muffin, baked beans and BBQ sauce. Chicken was so tender and juciy, I had enough for another meal. Husband had the brisket sandwich and just the plan brisket the next time. Said the sandwich was better, not as dry as just the meat. We made the mistake of ordering an appetizer and soup with our BBQ trays and all the food came out within 10 minutes of each course. Waitress apologized that the BBQ platters don't take long to get together so its just something to keep in mind. I remember the first time our appetizer and entrees came out later so it really depends on what you order. Both times we got the large pub pretzel with crab dip. So good! I do recommend reservations as it seems to fill pretty fast. It's a large open restaurant with beautiful decor and outdoor seating that will probably open up with the warmer weather. Just watch the timing and what you order or you might end up with a buffet like we did. Plus side, it was all good left over!

Got drinks - my husband was delighted with the beer options and loved the single hop All Citra the best, and he is a beer snob (in the best way!). The Sauvignon blanc was ok, but I realize that is not their focus. We had calamari to share - good flavor, but more pillowy than crisp. The platters are the way to go - $20 for a ridiculous amount of terrific food! The pulled pork was smoky, tender and homemade sauces were perfect. Sides of coleslaw, beans and a cornbread muffin were all tasty and a nice sized serving. I had enough left for another whole meal! The brisket was awesome too - got a chunk from my husband. Our server was Allie - she did a great job - there when we needed her, knowledgeable and nice as could be! The food is served quickly, which was nice if you are traveling. Overall, a fun experience in a beautiful setting and a very reasonable price.
