Fantastic from appetizers to desserts. I was there for a private dinner meeting. It was held…read moreupstairs. The server did a great job with making sure that our drinks were filled, and we had to go boxes and brought our food out in a timely manner. Some of the appetizer choices were the calamari, fried kale and crab claw lollipops. All three were absolutely outstanding, and the portions were large. For dinner, our choices are rockfish, lobster, mac & cheese, filet mignon, or grilled chicken green curry. Again, the portion sizes were large and everyone enjoyed their meals. We were able to choose from a flourless chocolate torte or cheesecake. I forgot to mention that the Caesar salad was so fresh and the dressing was outstanding. I would like to come back and experience the restaurant and their entire menu. The upstairs had a fun, urban feel with a fireplace and a cool bar. We felt comfortable and it was a fun vibe.

If you're looking for a coastal escape in the middle of PA, Rockfish Public House is the spot. Ever…read moresince they opened in 2016, they've been the gold standard for fresh seafood in downtown York. It's got that elevated "public house" vibe--stylish enough for a date but relaxed enough for a casual weekday hang. The Oyster Happy Hour The absolute best way to experience this place is their Oyster Happy Hour. It's arguably the best deal in town and a total magnet for the after-work crowd. The Deal: Usually running until 6:00 PM, you get "happy hour on the half shell" pricing that makes indulging in a dozen (or two) actually affordable. The Variety: They don't just stick to one house oyster; they typically rotate through boutique selections from the East Coast, so you can really compare the salinity and finishes. The BBQ Shrimp While the raw bar gets a lot of love, you have to try the BBQ Shrimp Skewer. These aren't your average grilled shrimp; they come bacon-wrapped with a perfect glaze and a hit of cheddar. It's smoky, savory, and exactly the kind of rich appetizer you want to pair with a cold craft beer. The Verdict Rockfish has been a cornerstone of George Street for nearly a decade for a reason. Whether you're a seasoned oyster connoisseur or you're just there for the seafood nachos and a smash burger, the quality is consistently top-tier. Pro Tip: It gets crowded fast during that happy hour window, so try to snag a spot at the first-floor bar early!

Well, this is my last review of 2025 and what a better place to conclude this year than Big Mikes…read moreCrabhouse ! We decided to stop in here as it's been a while since we last started here and the seafood is simply outstanding. The staff is very welcoming helpful and they will answer any questions that you may have and they make sure you're well taken care of. We had a pound and a half of the steam shrimp which are an extremely nice size and done to perfection and we also had the crabcake and two fried shrimp which were butterfly and the flavor is just incredible and the crabcake all crab and it was just amazing . The location is very easy. It's right next to the Hanover post office on the corner. There's plenty of parking along the street and in the back in their small parking lot and they are known for their crabs and there were people coming and left and right picking up their orders and they do a really nice business here. The inside is always very clean. Tables are clean and it's a small place but it's very relaxing and you can bring your own bottle as well. So if you're in the area and you're looking for some good crabs, shrimp and seafood give this place a try you will not be disappointed . Happy New Year !

This place in Hanover is very well known for their seafood, and by the pictures, you can see why. Everyone there is so very nice and accommodating. This is not a fancy place, you can go dressed very casually and enjoy all kinds of seafood. If you wish to, you can take your own adult beverage to enjoy with your meal. We saw a couple sitting next to us that brought their own beer. They could enjoy while they were cracking their crabs! my husband ordered a pound and a half of the large steamed shrimp that are served to you hot and with their own cocktail sauce, they were so big we could not even finish all of them, so we brought them home to enjoy today. We will be returning soon as we really enjoy the seafood here!!!!!!

If you want a "just average" eating experience you should skip Rock Salt…read more It was fantastic. But, get there early, make a reservation, or be prepared to wait. My brother and I wanted something for lunch after going to a car swap meet. We landed on Rock Salt Grille. I'd eaten there several times before. We arrived at 11:45 AM (Saturday) and there was a 30 minute wait, so we grabbed two comfortable seats at the bar. A good call. I had the Rock Salt Oysters, broiled with bacon and parmigiana. Delightful. I also had the cream of, and Maryland crab, soup combination. My brother had the crab cake sandwich. I'd had it before, but wanted the oysters. His crab cake sandwich was double the size of any I'd ever seen, without exaggeration. He guessed it was 8 ounces or more, without exaggeration, with no visible filler, (Broiled). I had a few beers and we split the Bread pudding with Grand Marnier sauce. It was enough for four. The bar and food service was spectacular with "tag teaming" to make sure we didn't wait for anything. I'd like to thank the bartenders who served us perfectly: Kelsey and Nikkea. Award winners. Rock Salt is not inexpensive, but the quality of the food and the great service justify the premium. I'll be back more often

Two of us ordered the stuffed rockfish which both said was delicious and there were no problems with the dish. Did have a problem with a photo so that is why you don't see one below. The old bay wings were cooked perfectly. The dressing was extremely good and the celery was the best I have ever had. It was light and crispy. I normally don't eat celery, but this was incredible. I was impressed. The double crab cake dinner was perfect, along with the green beans and baked potato. The lobster and filet mignon were cooked well and to order. The accompanying green beans and baked potato were also perfect. The waiter was prompt, polite and accommodating. We were checked on by the hostess, and the general manager was seen monitoring the restaurant. The ambiance was excellent. The restaurant was noisy, but this is to be expected since the restaurant was almost at capacity. I only saw one table for two that was empty. When we left an hour later, we were the only guests left in the back dining room. The rest of the restaurant was at or near capacity.
