Your facial expression showed keen interest and you magically found boards for the hubby and I to crack our crabs on, during that particular visit. I also inquired about dessert and how it's necessary to rid your mouth of crab gook after a meal. You agreed and suggested something in the realm of ice-cream. At various times I have been able to find Harbour House on some of the delivery sites I subscribe to, but for me, buying a 1/2 bushel of steamed crabs to make a mess in my dining room is not an impulse purchase that I suddenly choose for dinner. Call ahead and find out what the prices are, and schedule your order. I like to get them steamed in house and take them home hot. (A Styrofoam cooler works well for this. Price varies by the size of the crab, and generally I go with large male (aka Jimmy) crabs. Don't forget the mallets!

Their position is that shipping protection covers a reshipment and nothing else. The replacement was also delayed and wasn't going to arrive until after the freshness date, so I refused it and sent it back. Two shipments, zero crabs, and a company that treats a paid-for delivery date as something they owe you nothing on when it fails. I'm disputing the charge with my card issuer. If you're ordering perishables for a specific day, know that their remedy is another shipment on their schedule, not your money back.

Three of us had the shrimp and grits, which, uniquely, were not the typical southern dish but an earthy creation featuring very barley forward grits that also included very chunky carrots and other enhancements I am at a loss to identify. Good, but a surprise for my southern shrimp and grits-expecting palate. The shrimp were pretty overcooked and detracted from the barley-enhanced grits. Two enjoyed the wedge salad. For mains, two enjoyed the shrimp bisque, and the pan fried boneless chicken breast. I had the meatloaf and found it to be a bit gamier than expected likely due to using grass fed beef.
