It paired perfectly with the meal and felt like a great comfort side. The Caesar salad was fresh and crisp with just the right amount of dressing, crunchy croutons, and plenty of parmesan. A solid, classic Caesar done right. Service was friendly, fast, and attentive, and the atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming. We had a newborn baby and a 7 month pregnant woman in our party. The wait was ridiculous and painful for the new mom and the expecting mom. When we approached the seating hostess for updates, we would just be told a table had to be prepared specifically for us. The restuarant was absolutely packed, elbow to elbow. Have been coming to this location for over 10 years now. Pretty solid location. It is a very popular restaurant in the area, so be prepared to wait for over an hour, unless you're smart and join the online waitlist (still be prepared to wait). There is very limited waiting area, as in it gets so busy that there's never any seats or spots available to wait at for your table. But the staff does move pretty quick, and they're good at keeping on top of the list. It is always crazy hectic here, and kinda overwhelming. But this is typical for any Texas roadhouse. Overall, I don't have any complaints about this location minus how busy they are, and the very limited parking. Menu is always consistent and solid, and they have a large drink menu. Came here yesterday for the very first time! I would like to go back sometime in the future. Excited because this is the first review since my last two where I had a really good experience overall. First off, The bread and butter was absolutely delicious! (As most people know, but I didn't!) I was told they are always crowded and I can definitely understand why. Thankfully we were a group of 6 but didn't need a reservation and got seated very quickly. Our server was Carter and he was great! He checked in frequently and our food got to us pretty fast. He got all our food adjustments correct as well as our bill. You get free peanuts which is pretty cool, and you can pick your cut of meat near the front once you come in if you're getting steak. I paid $30 total including tip and I got the beef tips which came with mushrooms and onions (not a fan of cooked mushrooms but I'll keep that in mind for the next time if I get the same thing.) and I picked seasoned rice and paid an extra $1.45 for a loaded baked potato that was absolutely delicious!! The beef was delicious too, I got it cooked medium rare. For dessert i got the brownie with ice cream and that was delicious. Overall no real complaints. We found parking pretty easily and it was a great atmosphere and good food! This is probably a silly tip, but if you are vegan/vegetarian, there are things you can get here just limited. A member of our party ordered a drink that required a substitution, the bar just added the extra drink and didn't remove the cancelled drink, thus charging for two. Be sure to ask if all the extras with your sides are extra as the waitstaff is coached to present the options as included. I don't typically write bad things bad about restaurants that I love but, today my spouse and I had gone to here and he is 21 I am underage although. He had ordered a Samuel Adam's non alcoholic beer at the Texas Roadhouse in Lancaster just a week ago no issues. Today he tried ordering a Heineken non alcoholic and they would not serve it to him even though it is non alcoholic. We ordered takeout. Our mistake. Paid for two meals, and got half of one. Steak was ordered medium, and they gave me shoe leather. I think they forgot my side salads entirely and threw a few leaves in the bag to compensate. I could see the table through the salad container, there was so little in it. There were also about a dozen or so steak fries between the two of us. Rolls were so small and dry my dog wouldn't eat them (and he eats everything). The butter was good, at least. Unfortunately, it looks like someone smeared some on their finger and stuffed it into a sauce cup. On the plus side, my trip was educational. I never knew steak fries could be so wet they crumbled, and that they could sell jerky that looks so much like ribs. I wrote this to the manager about the continual takeout problems...Yesterday, we ordered a takeout. I told the very nice girl that the last rolls we got were nothing suitable for eating. Saying...Like a pair of brown shoes - and just as tough and hard on top. She said sorry that she would make sure we would get fresh light ones. Just asking for light like you picture in all your advertisements. She said that the takeout get the rolls at a special warmer storage area and sometimes they are in too long and should be thrown out. So when we got our meals which were really good the rolls were just about as dark - hence, we had to cut off the tops to get bread with our meals. I believe since we are paying the same amount as when we come in - it is reasonable to expect the same doneness and quality (other than we have to bring it home). We love your meals, when they are done as we order, just like in the restaurant (just about 99.9% satisfaction) but it is a different story for take out as many of our friends have agreed. To expect consistency with what we order, and rolls to be edible is not too much to ask for. Consistency in food is a good/realistic goal to strive for - as customers we would sure appreciate it. We love your food but always wonder if the people preparing meat, pulling together our complete orders with enough butter and rolls that have not been sitting in the warmer too long/overbaked is going to happen. Not too much to ask, since we are asked to pay the same as when we dine in. Your questionnaire email is great - just needs for room for details so you understand what we are getting. Came in for lunch with me and my daughter while on our trip. Had gift cards to use so figured we go here. The one where we live is so good so we figured this one would be too. We were wrong. The service was super slow, the waitress kept disappearing and we waited a long time for our food. When it comes to the food. The best thing was the salad I ordered. My daughter had the steak bites meal and they were red in the inside although she wanted well done. The fries were cold and rock hard. I asked to replace with Mac and cheese instead which they did but she barely ate that either. Glad though they took the kids meal off the bill. My steak didn't come out in time cause the waitress said the one they made me was burnt and hard in the bottom so they were making a new one. They brought my baked potato though which I ate. That was good, but took another 20 minutes for the steak. The steak came out and it wasn't anything special, honestly had no seasoning or flavor. Are like 3 bites and boxed it up, although I'm not eating it again- prob give it to my moms dogs. Waste of money. Server Kaitlan was really great but the food was not. Ribs were burnt, they forgot my rice, and the chicken tenders were the size of nuggets after a long wait. They remade my meal and brought me my rice but the next order of ribs were not as burnt but still overcooked and dry. The tenders again looked like nuggets. Only thing I got to eat with my group was my salad and they just took off $10 even though my entire meal was bad and I didn't eat it. If I return and have a bad meal I will simply give them back the meal and have them completely remove from my bill rather than pay that much to just eat a side salad. read more

The wait time was what took forever but we went in on the weekend so that's to be expected there is nothing they can do about that. We were at The Texas Roadhouse in York Pa on the evening of January 13, 2024. We frequently visit this location. This visit was by far one of the worst dining experience we've had in quite some time. The waitress was very short and rude. She did not come back to check on drinks or the appetizer. Basically absent the entire visit. One of my sons ordered his burger medium well, it came out raw and bloody. He unfortunately to a bite not realizing it was raw. Took 5-10 minutes to get someone to get our server. Specifically asked if we wanted a NEW burger, it was cut in half with a bite out of it. When they brought it back it was in fact the same burger. They put it on their grill with what I'm assuming was other people's food being cooked. Disgusting It was burnt like totally black and the manag is tge one who brought it out. Shameful It took another 5-10 minutes to get someone to the table, which by the way had every single appetizer plate, salad plate empty glasses and dinner plates piled everywhere.. she took it off check only after i said i wasn't paying for it. No apologies , nothing. Just a completely awful experience. I did tip. But i did let them know how dissatisfied i was, still nothing to render the issues. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. They don't take reservations so we went early 1/2 hr early. There were 3 young girls at the desk. The one with short curlish wind blown hair greeted us. We asked for a table and she said 2, we said 4. She asked if they were here and we said no. She refused to sit us or wven put us on a list until the other 2 were with us. So we said just 2 then. She refused to seat us. We were not going to stand there since there was already a wait! I have to use shoulder canes so it's hard enough to go out to a restaurant, let alone stand there till the other 2 arrived. What's the point of going to wait in my car and not leave? We came here to celebrate 2 birthdays! We had to call them and let them know we wouldn't be able to celebrate their birthdays there. Obviously they were dissappointed! So we went to BIG JIM'S instead. We called and they had no problem letting us have a table while waiting for 2 more people!!! Think about that for a minute! You should really take down all veteran memorabilia because this is one veteran that will never support you again!! Second time that I've had a bad experience. Spouse ordered a ceser salad, dressing super sweet. Order a medium 8oz filet, got a medium RARE 6OZ filet that definitely was NOT A FILET (they act like we can't tell the difference). I ordered a medium well 8oz filet, got a WELL 6OZ filet, NOT A FILET (again like I said...they act Iike we can't tell the difference) I sent it back. The manager brought over another steak, watched me cut it open, WELL done AGAIN and SMASHED!!!! Nate (the manager) said "is that okay?" I then got upset and said "NO ITS NOT! I asked for medium!" He replied with "well... I will take it off, do you want anything else?" I said "just forget it, this is ridiculous" he then walked away. I've eaten here maybe a hundred times. Today I had an earwig crawling across the top of my house salad just as it was brought out to me. I informed my server who said sorry and did what she could to correct the situation. That salad was removed and a new salad was given to me. A manager came to talk to me to let me know that their food is so fresh that it can just happen. I'm not really buying the story because their house salads are quite chopped up so I think if the earwig had been in the ingredients prior to chopping, it would have been chopped up or at least injured. Also, this manager has on multiple occasions not given me a good vibe: in this case she just seemed to be telling me a made up story to make us feel better. This earwig seemed perfectly healthy and was scurrying freely on top of my salad. So my guess is that their back kitchen area has a severe lack of hygiene. I gave 3 stars because my family and I have eaten here so many times and have never gotten sick, as far as I know. The service is usually quite good, the food usually tastes quite good. But the preparation of the food can be a bit hit or miss (plates don't always seem cleanly presented, steaks are not always exactly how you ordered them, and, beyond this most recent experience, their salads haven't tasted as good the past few weeks/months). Last night it was a miss, and I'm honestly hesitant to go back to one of my formerly-favorite restaurants due to my earwig experience last night. If the manager had offered to take me back to the back kitchen to inspect thoroughly, I might have a different opinion, but I don't see that happening. read more

I visit this location 3-4 times a year and I've never been disappointed, until Dec. 13 of this year. I ordered the same 12-ounce, medium rare ribeye I always get but this time the steak was very thin. Less than half an inch thick - closer to a quarter inch. Too thin to cook medium rare. And the baked potato was too cold to melt any of the shredded cheese they put on it. It was slightly above room temperature. I sent the steak back and it was replaced with one that was just as thin and just as over-cooked. The manager agreed that it too was cooked "well-done" and not medium rare. She comp'd my bill $10 for my disappointment. I then recalled a disappointing meal at the Texas Roadhouse in Fallston, Maryland. If my memory is correct, it was a similar issue. I hear they use in-house butchers. Have they been told to do this? Anybody else notice a change? Anyway, I will not be back to the Texas Roadhouse in York, PA. I went with some guys I work with while on a business trip. It must have been the first week or so that they were open for dine in service because there were signs all over the front lawn. We called ahead so we didn't have to wait the 20-30 minutes. As soon as we checked in that sat us. Every other table was blocked off so they couldn't sit anyone next to you. All the staff had masks and latex gloves on. As for the food, it was par for the course Texas Roadhouse. This chain is probably the most consistent places you can go. My family decided to go to have dinner and when we arrived at the road house in york , it was crowded and we had to give our name and wait to be seated there was only one couple in front of my party of three, after about 5 minutes the couple was seated , wile we were waiting for our table four other groups walked in and gave their names , to make things short , every one of those groups was seated ahead of us and we were left to wait, we complained to the manager and she mumbled something we couldn't understand and left ....this place clearly discriminate at the rule of the manager.
