DON'T PURCHASE POWER TOOLS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unless you know you are never going to return power tools purchased here, don't expect a refund, only store credit. I recently purchased a power drill because we had lost our original. Immediately after using the new drill for the first time, we had found the one we misplaced. So, about 2 weeks after the purchase, I went to return it, but was told that I could only receive store credit. I informed the cashier that the MANAGER who sold me on the drill, AND the cashier who rung me up, FAILED to inform me that that was the policy specific of power tools. I then asked the cashier where that policy was stated because the back of the receipt was blank, and that's where I expected to find any type of terms, conditions, and policies. After about 30 seconds of searching the receipt, the cashier points out that the policy is stated just under the line item, mixed in with the numerous other text that you don't necessarily expect to have to analyze (this is NOT where you would instinctively think to look for a return policy). Next, I asked to speak to the manager. The manager was called, who then stated that he needed to call the owner for approval. The manager then tells the cashier over the radio that the owner denied the return. I then asked to speak to that same manager in person (the manager's name is Johnny). With a condescending and indifferent attitude, Johnny tells me that it's MY fault for not looking at the receipt and not asking about the return policy (which I did in fact ask the cashier at the time of purchase, who only stated the number of days I had to return it). I told Johnny that I've been a loyal patron of this store for 7 years, and that I prefer going there instead of Home Depot. I finally took the store credit only after stating 1) their cashiers need to be explicit about their specific return policies, and 2) cashiers need to circle that policy on the receipt (on which mine was NOT circled). Johnny responded with a sarcastic comment, saying "Yeah, sure, I'll do that." For a store that advertises itself as having a bit more of a personal, family-oriented feel as compared with the bigger corporate chains, this sure was not the case for me. read more
