Love the tea options. They always have tasting options out which is fun. Love the open homey seating

Probably my favorite tea shop in Seattle right now. No this is not a boba shop (thats a different category). Unique, quality drinks, it doesnt get much better than this. Ceremonial grade matcha, matcha soda, housemade syrups, its like all my favorite tea shops in LA in one, but with a seattle vibe. I always love a great rotating menu, and Miro Tea just introduced their spring/summer seasonals. The Dirty Earl (yeah I know, sounds like something from South Park) is probably one of my favorite drinks right now; cold brew, lavender, earl grey and oatmilk, who knew this would be a combination that works. Using ingredients with such hard hitting flavors, Somehow they're able to balance it all. You can taste all the ingredients, without any specific one being overbearing. I am excited to sample the rest of the menu and do some work in the shop when things open back up, since this place often is filled up due to the current phase 3 restrictions. read more

This place is just my vibe. Wonderful art, plants, tea and service from an amazing team of baristas behind the counter. The snacks and the drinks are reasonably priced and their latte creations are among some of the most unique I've ever had. They play very tasteful rock in the background, some from local bands but none of them are what I would call bad. Call me a Miro devotee, because I'll be coming back! read more

Matcha whisked as it should be. Love having an option that isn't just sweetened matcha powder.

Our favorite spot for tasty pastries and delicious tea. The staff is always fun and so knowledgeable. They're also great with a book rec if you're looking! Highly recommend the capetown latte, it's a staple and we go back for it time after time! read more

Awesome drink - got the Cape Town Could not order online and the in person was too long to wait several times I wanted to visit read more

Try the green tea mojito. As soon as I plan another trip to Seattle you best believe I'm heading straight back to Ballard for this tea.

This is a cute tea spot! They have several different teas you can try at the front with small ceramic mugs while in line along with selling tea and tea related items. It was pretty busy and crowded in there with a lot of seating but most taken, no biggie if you're hanging with friends but maybe not ideal if you were hoping to work or study with a lot of quiet. I got a chai tea latte and it was solid but with a bit less of a kick than my favorites chai lattes, it was a good size and had a great amount of foam though. It seems like matcha is their specialty here, they even had ceremonial whisked matcha which is very cool I don't usually see shops with matcha served that way, I'll have to come back to try it. Everyone was very nice and the drinks came out quickly. read more

Amazing selection of teas. Very cute place. Good service. We walked in on a whim, glad we did. My chaga chai was great, very well balanced flavors. Enjoyed the experience very much. read more

We had the Milk tea and hibiscus mint tea. Both are equally bad. The milk tea tastes like a mix of milk and water and can barely taste any tea flavor. Hibiscus tea was served right from the stored container and it tastes horrible. read more

If you haven't been here yet you are missing out. This is a Ballard gem and some the best tea anywhere. I'm not even into tea and I keep going back for that iced hibiscus tea. It's got me hooked. I'm also kind of in love with the coconut vanilla iced tea for when I'm not in the mood for sweetened tea. The place is beautiful the service is outstanding and the tea is delicious. read more

Collective review for three visits, the first two were loose leaf Earl Grey, and the third visit was on 8/18/14. Being at Miro's, this soothed my stomach after trying Zayda Buddy's. Consistent atmosphere to read, study, write, and have conversations. Had a pleasant London Fog - Earl Grey tea, vanilla, and steamed milk ($3.75) Husband had the Fireside Hot Chocolate - smoky Lapsang Souchong with chocolate, cinnamon, and steamed milk ($4.00) Nice to have so many beverage choices in Ballard - coffee, tea, beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails, shakes. read more

This is a very cute, bustling tea and pastry shop in the heart of Downtown Ballard. Such a great location and a beautiful place to enjoy a cup of tea. I came on a sunny day, which would have been perfect for their outdoor seating area. However I had some work to do and opted for inside. Very modern, open seating area inside, with fun, colorful local artists on the walls. Mellow, beat and vocal heavy music, not too loud in the background, think r&b, lo-fi, Raveena. Very much a community Vibe here, the owner and employees interacting with friends and customers from all around the neighborhood. They have a great tea selection here, I personally enjoy non-flavored "true" teas (not herbal) and they had some of my favorites. I'm glad to find a few tea restaurants in Seattle actually have REAL TEA rather than just bubble tea! Also, they have gong Fu service here!! So cool, not many places do that in Seattle. Highly recommend this service, it really brings an authentic unfolding of the flavors of your tea through multiple brews. This place would have gotten five stars because of their selection, friendliness, and awesome atmosphere. However, the actual tea itself wasn't great, and that's an important part of my experience. I ordered a pot of Silver Needle white tea, a fairly expensive, light tea, delicate in flavor and physically delicate as well. Usually sweet and umami, with very slight hay and floral notes. My brew was fairly bold for Silver Needle. Not very sweet, and umami was overpowered by strong hay flavor. After looking in the strainer, I noticed all the leaves were shredded and broken, as if it was scraped from the bottom of the tin. Silver Needle should be handled carefully, so as to keep the whole leaf intact, so it retains the delicate flavor notes and doesn't become to tannic or grassy. Usually, Silver Needle can be brewed over 5 times to bring out new and interesting flavors, but I couldn't even get through one brew. The tea cup I was drinking out of also smelled of smoke, maybe there was some Lapang Souchong in it recently? Because tea is such an amazing delicacy for me, I was disappointed in this experience. However, I retained three stars, because it's such a lovely place. I didn't mention the the bad brew in person, I'm thinking the owner may have helped out if I did. All in all, I would recommend this place, especially of you're looking for a nice community tea house that has a wide tea selection. For really avid tea people, maybe one of the few shops in the intl district might be better. read more

Great atmosphere and service. A good selection of teas and pastries to unwind for an afternoon.

While still offering some ok tea options, these have declined in quality and consistency over the past few years. The biggest issue is while quality has gone down pricing continues to soar. I can't justify $6+ for a mediocre cup of tea. Was my favorite tea place in town, sad to have lost it for now. read more

I have been to Miro tea a number of times. I especially love their loose leaf tea and their matcha. Parking can be a bit challenging and on Sundays it is packed. Sometimes especially when it is extra busy it can be a bit of a wait. Their pastries all look delicious and a lot of them are from other local bakeries/vendors. I've had some of their food which is also good. Fun atmosphere and I would highly recommend it if you're in the area! read more

A fantastic place to work and have a tea or just relax for a bit. They have fast free wifi with plenty of outlets and also have abundant outside seating. The tea selection is slightly above average with plenty of options and specialty drinks both hot and cold. My favorite drinks here are: -The Arnie -Strawberry Supernova -Capetown Latte The food options are decently priced and shockingly delicious! It's not often you find a tea shop that offers great food and even sells crepes. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They offer a drink card to work your way to a free drink and they even store it for you in shop. This is a great place to bring a friend or 2 also as the tables are quite large. Miro offers large teapots to share and even has the option to set up a small tea ceremony. Easily my favorite tea shop in WA. read more

My friend and I came before the farmers market. Parking is sparse at times, but since I came before the market opened, I had no problem. It is back in angle or parallel for the most part. The tea is delicious, and they let you try 4 different ones for free to the left of the ordering counter. I also ordered a savory crepe which was quite filling. The space is open with lots of natural lighting. It can fill up quickly though. The art also helps keep the lightness feeling to this place. They have some outlets near the wall as I studied a little before my friend arrived. read more

Best Chai I've ever had, lovely ambiance, super kind and helpful staff. Get the Pink Chai (i get it with Helm Milk) and you won't regret it!

Been here a few times. My girlfriend LOVES their tea while I enjoy the mocha and desserts they have. The black forest cake is phenomenal

I go here occasionally on the weekends. On 11/27/21 I went in and paid for my order that came to $12.04. A few minutes later they called me back up saying my payment didn't go through and to swipe my card again. A week later looking at my credit card I now see that they charged me my $12.04 but then a second order of $7.29 as well. Thanks a lot, guys. read more

I've been coming to Miro for years and it's always been consistent. However, for the past few months things have gone a little south. During two out of my last three visits, they forgot my food order. As in they brought out my tea, I waited 30 minutes, went to the counter, and learned they forgot about the food. This last time, not only did they forget my sandwich, but it didn't come with the usual side salad. When I asked, the server simply said, "Oh, we ran out." Wtf? They couldn't come up with a different side, or charge less, or offer something to make up for it? Hopefully I'm just unlucky and these two visits are anomalies. Only time will tell. read more

Miro Tea is hands down my Third Place in the Seattle area. I don't even know where to begin. The TL:DR is that Miro has the nicest balance of amazing staff, an eclectic space, delicious food, a great location, and EXCEPTIONAL Tea. I'm going to start with layout--Miro has a little bit of everything when it comes to seating. There are traditional 2 person tables, larger tables, bench/booth options, low couch, a regular couch, and outdoor seating. There's something for everyone, if you can find a seat (it's usually fairly busy midday or on the weekends). There's also a 3 stool bar, which offers a view of the behind-the-counter Coffee and pastry prep area. The café provides reliable, secure wifi--I've never had connectivity issues. Beverage-wise, there's an impressive variety of coffee drinks, tea lattes, iced teas, mocktails, etc. There is a complete paper menu/catalogue for all of the loose-leaf hot tea offered, which is logically broken down into all of the parts of the tea spectrum (White, Green, Oolong, Black, Ripe & Raw Pu-erh, Tisanes, Herbs). One can purchase a cup of tea (one serving with infinite re-steeps) a pot of tea (3-5 cups of tea, comes with a tea-light warmer, also free re-steeps) or a serving of tea in a Gaiwan. The Gaiwan service is the price of a pot, plus 3 dollars, and gets you a tea tray with 1 gaiwan, a strainer, a fairness pitcher, one or two thimble cups, and a thermos of the appropriate temperature water. This serving style is generally reserved for the Oolongs, Blacks, and Pu-erhs, but exceptions can generally be made. If you are unfamiliar with GongFu brewing, staff are willing to show you the ropes! (I highly recommend this) Food! We can't forget the food. Behind the case next to the register lays a delectable assortment of house-made and locally sources pastries, some of which are gluten-free or vegan (it is in Ballard, after all). There is also a menu for crepes, salads, and sandwiches, which are all delicious!! I think there are certain days and times where Crepes are available, fyi. On the back wall of the shop, there is a tasting bar, with a handful of freshly brewed teas for sampling. This is also where you can purchase loose leaf tea, by the ounce. My warmest and sincerest thanks goes out to all of the staff, who are incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and skilled in their environment. If you couldn't already tell, I recommend you go to Miro, and spend some time with a beverage and a book, or simply the newspaper. read more

Miro Tea is hands down my favorite tea place in Seattle! My boyfriend and I came here for the first time after going to the Ballard Farmers Market. There was a line out the door (due to Covid) and though it moved quite slowly, it was totally worth the wait! The interior is so cute, and there's plenty of seating. I got the lychee rose kombucha which was amazing, and my boyfriend got the Ambrosia tea fusion with boba... Seriously the best boba we've ever had in Seattle-- I think they soak their boba in honey, so it's perfectly sweet and chewy. I'd give both drinks a 5/5 and overall this place is definitely a 5/5 for me. I can't wait to come back and try their other drinks! read more

How I heard of this place: Walking through the neighborhood, enjoying the Ballard Farmer's Market, it's hard to miss Miro Tea. It wasn't until just last week that I made my way in for the first time! And a second just this week. I'm quickly becoming a "regular". Type of cuisine: "Our dream with Miro Tea began with the simple idea that people could enjoy fresh, artisan-quality teas in a vibrant, community-oriented tea shop. Founded in 2007, Miro Tea was welcomed into the Ballard neighborhood as a centerpiece for connecting our community with the worlds finest grades of tea. Through our quality of service, knowledge and product we strive to evoke a the sense of warmth and renewal that is the most primary characteristic of a good tea. We welcome your visit and look forward to connecting with you over your next cup of tea." In addition to an excellent and diverse selection of teas, patrons may also enjoy sweet or savory crepes, sandwiches, soups and salads. Not to mention a variety of pastries including mini quiche, cookies, brownies, croissants, muffins, loaves, and more. Ambiance: "We are located in Seattle's historic downtown Ballard neighborhood, occupying a retail space in a handsome brick building (The Portland Building) typical of the city's historic commercial district. . Explore with us the endless gifts of the humble tea leaf. And follow us as we share our experiences in building a growing community of tea enthusiasts." Enter the space to be greeted by a simple and inviting selection of teas, books, tea accoutrements for purchase. In front of you, the bar, where one can await beverages or enjoy a delicious beverage and snack. Ample seating to your left, as well as seating in each street-facing window, on either side of the front door. A bonus, beyond the crowds and seating areas, one will find a selection of teas for sampling. The wooden floors, tables and features and natural-feeling lighting, the hubbub of conversation and the clinking of utensils create a warmth and inviting space. What I ordered: On my first visit, I shared a pot of the cinnamon Gensing tea, and sampled the one I ordered on this visit: a cup of Rooibos Green and a Vegetable Quiche. What I loved: The opportunity to sample teas! Why I loved it: Clean, simple space with a true focus on food and drink. *The service is spotty (all of our orders were incorrect, doubled up, off) and the baristas stand-offish, hence the lower rating).* Cost: High ($9 per crepe, $3-$4 per cup of tea; free refill included) read more

Miro Tea - Green Rooibos. Yes! - Tea Rooms Near Me - Seattle, Washington

The one and only tea house in Seattle as far as I'm concerned. (Strange that Seattle, with 13% of its population Asian--and growing--has so few decent tea houses). Along a street known more for its hip bar-restaurants and boutiques, this place has a wide variety of teas as well as a contemporary but still Asian-inspired decor in a historic Ballard storefront. The Asian-American woman, who I believe is the owner, has an engaging, vibrant personality, the staff friendly. This goes a large way towards towards this good place to read, relax, watch life go by just outside the large bay windows, or muse...A few loud tourists don't manage to spoil the atmosphere. read more

Absolutely authentic tea place! We ordered matcha soda which is a blend of matcha, yuzu juice, and sparkling soda, and hojicha milk tea. Matcha soda was very refreshing with a perfect amount of yuzu (Japanese citrus, super flavorful) juice. I so very loved their hojicha (roasted green tea) milk tea!!! Wish I added boba with it. I am afraid this was seasonal. Please make it on the regular menu!!!!! Will definitely come back. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Miro before. I go there on occasion, mostly to enjoy their Capetown Latte (made with rooibos tea). It's the best rooibos latte I've found in Seattle so far. They also have samples of tea at all times, which is cool for people who don't know what they might want when they go in... And anyone else curious about their robust selection! I vaguely remember having one of their quiches too at some point, but quiches are weird in general so I'm not holding Miro accountable. I'll have to try more of the food too - it's always arranged so prettily! What I don't like (thus the 4*) is that it gets really crowded and loud, even later in the evening. Maybe it's the open space, but I find it impossible to focus when I try to work there. Conversations can be difficult to maintain as well. I know this is a silly thing to complain about, and good for them to keep people coming in, but I enjoy working when I go places like Miro and I'm just not able to do that here. That said, I do recommend it to any tea fanatic who's willing to hunt down a seat. Also, it can be really nice to sit outside and people-watch when the weather is warmer. And maybe working outside would turn out better? I prefer the noise of the street to many conversations. Either way, I'll be back for more! read more

Great place to just relax and warm up with a pot of hot tea. The selection of tea is expansive and the staff is very helpful and knowledgable if you're not sure which one is for you! I'm not a fan of the baked goods, but they have a range of tea and coffee concoctions which are quite nice. The space is wide and bright and has a lot of outlets, so it's a good place to bring your laptop and work. I love how pleasant and unpretentious the ambience is. Wow. I'm going to be perfectly honest... when the owners of Miro told me that they were opening up a tea shop that would revolutionize tea drinking, my first thought was, "... how far can that idea go in a coffee town?". Let me be the first to admit that the last time I was this short sighted, my foot slipped through the very thin ice I was standing on. The iced teas featured on their opening weekend were SPECTACULAR! My friends and l, each ordered a different flavor and the second we had a taste, we all wanted to try each others drink! Each one is completely different and original! Now that they have been open for a while the sentiment from new customers is still the same as on that opening day... just shock, that tea can be this fresh and interesting! The space is large and open with outdoor seating and a nice organic feel. On Weekends they stay open late! On top of that, they freaking serve CREPE'S! BALLARD HAS A CREPE'S! I had the Fig and Cinnamon Apple Crepe and it was so aromatic and perfectly balanced, that I made a little gasp sound at first taste! A man got up and left, very awkward. In a nutshell... they set out to do what they dreamed to do... Miro revolutionized my tea drinking experience! (admittedly... I didn't have any memorable tea drinking experiences before they opened... but that's kinda my point here.) UPDATE: I just got a peak at the new dessert menu and It really did look pretty damn good! Freaking mango cheesecake... need I say more? read more

Great spot for studying or laptop work or playing board games. What we shared: London rose - Earl grey is strong and spot on and the rose syrup is lightly hinted. It could be a little sweeter. Strawberry shortcake macaron - It's got the strawberry taste but no cake flavor but it smells like cake. Blueberry white chocolate macaron - The filling did not taste like white chocolate at all but rather more like cream. It was kind of stale and artificial. Blueberry basil maté cooler - This was more of a fizzy juice rather than a tea. Bottom line - stick to the drinks and avoid the macarons. I'm also disappointed that they barely had any dessert options. There was only one cake offered and it was carrot cake. How can anyone have tea time here with a pot of tea without some scones or cakes? Their scrabble board games were missing a significant amount of pieces too. read more
