We then met with several...ultimately choosing Cummings Hardwood Flooring. As I begin to write this review, I glance back over the earlier reviews (2020-2023) we originally found for this company...and can honestly say...NOTHING HAS CHANGED since those earlier postings. Our original meeting with Andy to obtain an estimate was refreshing (inclusive, respectful and knowledge-sharing). His team, as promised, arrived when he said they would. They were exceedingly respectful of the fact that I work from home (and wore earbuds rather than blaring a boom box and shouting). They seemed very organized, worked well together, and cleaned as they went. They completed the project in less time than estimated ("because Mike was on the job..."). Their style and workmanship are clearly deserving of a 5* rating...and we would highly recommend Andy and his team at Cummings Hardwood Flooring and use them again. The only thing we would encourage folks embarking on this type of project to do is invest the time to learn as much as you can about wood, textures, styles, colors, etc. The end product on our floors was much lighter - both in color and in finish - than anticipated. We also wanted to change the color of the floor which would require bleaching to remove some of the red in the wood and staining with a new lighter color. Kevin did a beautiful job. This underlayment is not recommended by the manufacturer (Portercraft Floors). Frank LaCava installed the floor incorrectly and now it will need to be replaced. Nelson Melara installed our tile and the grout is soft/crumbling and will need to be replaced. Nelson is unresponsive and does not stand behind his work.

Every time until this last…read moreyear, they were the best and some of the guys were artists in the way they handled the customizing. This time, I was blindsided by how the company has evolved. Within a few months of our new carpet, it displayed complete matting. I notified our contractor who told me to contact them directly. That was a year ago and Schmidt is just giving me a new run around every few months. I am so fed up and disappointed how this amazing flooring and service company has fallen. I'm still hopeful and will definitely update when (if) they resolve the issue.

If I wasn't on site during the job there would have been huge mistakes. There was a request for extra flooring that was an agreed part of the contract that was ignored until I threatened to delay payment. That was finally resolved after several weeks (after much complaining from them afterwards) It should have been taken care of when the flooring was ordered. All in all after a ton work on my end I got what I needed but not without a ton of hassle and ZERO customer support.

We had a negative experience with Professional Flooring Solution. Here are the details…read more 1. The contract between the customer and the flooring company is incomplete. It turned out that customer must remove all furniture except fridge from the whole construction area, although the contract does not mention this. As an option they offered to hire a moving company at the cost of $400 to move furniture into garage and back. 2. Before the work starts, customer has to deposit 50% of the installation cost. If customer wants to cancel the contract - flooring company keeps this money, even if no work is done. 3. The professional skill level of the personnel is bad. One of the workers wanted to show how they are going to "do their best to prevent squeaking". He tried to screw the screw into the floor and... he failed. His power tool was on the reverse, but he could not figure it out. Instead he just kept spinning the screw in wrong direction. Another worker wanted to connect together two floor pieces. The floor is a simple "click system", all he needed to do is to put two planks together and the angle and then make them flatten them - they click and get connected. Instead he left a gap between the boards, and then tried to use brute force to make them flat. Was it his first floor job? 4. The installation quality is not good. They managed to leave gaps between click system planks! The holes for heating vents are made too big - you can see ugly unfinished wood and subfloor near the vent edges. 5. They were always late, except for the one day, when somebody came 1 hour earlier, waking us up. 6. Haven't done the job completely as promised. Left some trim unsealed and all of them unpainted. Bottom line: high cost, poor quality, bad scheduling, greedy unprofessional people, no warranty for customer. If you are ok with it - call them now.

We absolutely love the color of our floors and where they removed carpet and added flooring looks perfect. Unfortunately though their attention to details lacked severely. All of our base boards have stain on them.Some areas you can tell they tried to wipe off the stain, but it seems like it just made it worse. I lied there are some base boards that did not get any stain on them. Those are the base boards they removed to place the new flooring that are still sitting on our deck, because they never bothered putting them back on. They left blue tape everywhere, they also left a rag to cover up the stain they spilled on our window frame in the living room. We also had a wood vent that they removed and never put back or bothered staining for it to match the floors. We were quoted and agreed on a price. Than we were told by Dan they went over budget and we owed another $200. Which was never explained why. We are bummed because we were hoping to have them add hard wood to all the bedrooms. After seeing their work first hand we will be looking for a new flooring company to finish business with. I left a google review and the owners response was this wasn't us when I'm sitting here with your emailed quote in my hand. So this was your company.
