    We hired 303floors to refinish our upstairs hardwoods floors and replace some stained wood sections…read morein our dining room. The job also included moving some large furniture into the garage. We had a few other jobs going concurrently during the work, a bathroom remodel and basement egress windows. The bathroom was paused during the work except for the first day. The egress work began towards the last two days of the scheduled work. Throughout the job some days 303floors showed up quite late in the morning around 11am to start work. The day before last of the job I inspected the work being done and noticed a closet was not fully completed and left the door open hoping it would be noticed. He missed a whole section of the closet and only did half the job on the base. It was also communicated that the next day it would be critical that we moved back upstairs because we had an afternoon baby shower to go to and our dogs would need to be out of our basement. The dogs could not stay in the basement due to the egress windows being installed and the basement was torn apart. 303 floors stated that would not be an issue and everything should be good to go. The final day I waited for him to arrive after he put on the final coat that morning but it was getting too close to our departure timeframe so I began to move the furniture back inside myself. 303floors showed up during this process and seemed to have forgot the conversation the day prior. While moving furniture in he stated he was not quite done and he would return to finish. The trim in the dining room was not put back on, air registers not put back in place, the house still had various install tools and debris out front from the job, and the closet was not finished. 303floors requested payment while I assisted moving back in the furniture. The next day I reluctantly sent final payment for the work. It has now been three weeks and he has not returned to complete the job and barely kept communication. Three bags of sanding shavings were left at the house, one black trash bag of scrap wood, various coating tools, a fan, and the rest of the trash from the job was left. To date he has still not communicated when the closet would be finished and I have since then reinstalled the trim and registers. Overall I expected better communication and was let down because the job has not been finished. I have had a mother in-law staying with us and the job could have been finished at any point over the past three weeks had 303floors reached out. 303floors has responded to the review on thumbtack pointing blame on me being unresponsive and "switching" days. I told him we were wide open and was met with unanswered texts and no phone call when he didn't show to the Wednesday appointment. It's not the clients job to reach out and confirm arrival. He never showed to finish. In regards to electricians they installed an exterior panel and worked in the kitchen. The egress window work was also exterior and in the front yard as he stated. Not in the way of flooring. To date I have never received a call from the business to reschedule. He then responded to my follow up on thumbtack that I didn't trust him in my home and he was there all week alone - I worked from home the whole week in the basement due to our dogs having to be downstairs. Trust was never an issue, our animals not knowing him was the issue. They would be upstairs moving forward because I had to return to work. He also responded that I told my wife not to speak with him, which is a complete lie. My wife generally doesn't deal with contractors on her own free will. She had no reason to ever speak with him? Nevertheless that still does not change the fact that he never completed the job or reached out. It seems John will spin any web he can to not take responsibility for dropping the ball and slander his customers. Future customers be warned. He didn't even reach out with the initial negative review to correct the situation. Text message pictures on thumbtack show proof of being left on read.
