I have build a few homes where the contractor used Schmidt Flooring. Every time until this last year, they were the best and some of the guys were artists in the way they handled the customizing. This time, I was blindsided by how the company has evolved. Within a few months of our new carpet, it displayed complete matting. I notified our contractor who told me to contact them directly. That was a year ago and Schmidt is just giving me a new run around every few months. I am so fed up and disappointed how this amazing flooring and service company has fallen. I'm still hopeful and will definitely update when (if) they resolve the issue. read more

If you like it done right, pick another company. Overall the floors came out not quite right. The problem was that they should have done it right from the start, not doing so caused me extra time and worry and they're not done as they should be. They installed the wrong color plugs in the screw holes, some were almost black and this was on a light colored, oak floor. Instead of owning up to it, the tech first tried to convince me that they looked good as is, which was ridiculous. Then they had to come back twice to get it fixed and the border color that got resanded is lighter and not as uniform had it been done all at once the first time. They wasted my time and I'll notice the error for all the years that I live there just like they'll have to live with this review all the years that they're in business. When Dave first came out to do a quote I was ready to rip out the existing wood floors and put in something new, which would have likely been much more expensive. He convinced us that the floors would refinish nicely, and he was right, they look amazing! New customers note: be very careful with this companies generic quote/ contract for work. Read carefully, since It obviously hasn't been culled and screened by lawyers or anyone with contracting expertise. I caught them promising me more than they were willing to put on paper. They promptly dropped me. Also, most companies don't asked for 50% up front, weeks before the work starts, as this company does. read more

I just had my hardwood floors refinished in Windsor. Schmidt's did a awesome job. Ron and Tyler were the gentlemen that turned my horrible looking floors into something that I am so proud for everyone to see. I highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking for quality and professional people from the time you make that first call. Though we had some problems at first (Dave incorrectly over-measured our square-footage, and Jeff paid little attention to detail), after making our complaints heard to Barry, he personally came over and took care of all the problems. Our floor now looks great to the last detail. I am most pleased with my refinished floors. All three of the floor refinishers were professional and answered all my questions, no matter how mundane. They did an excellent job. When I let in the third guy on Tuesday morning, it was my first time seeing the floors. I told him they looked like new! I could not believe the difference; it was astounding! We are so thrilled with our gorgeous new floors. From the very beginning, the people who work at Schmidts were amazing. Dave is a great guy who came out and measured perfectly and then came back after installation to check it out and bring us floor care products. The installers were wonderful as well, and worked their tails off to meet our deadline. They spent a good amount of time making sure the floors were stained the exact color we wanted, and the finished project, as I mentioned above, is gorgeous.
