Everything started fine with a quick quote for refinishing and refilling our hardwood floors. However, when we got back into the house there were large spots that were missed/unfinished, boot prints in the finish and the electricity in an entire room knocked out. They came back out 3 times to work on the various issues that should have been taken care of at the start. We asked them to help us set our humidifier to keep the floors in good shape, which they did, however; filler and cracks started to work their way out around 9 months after the job. After a year there are large cracks after having the previous refinish last for 9 years. I finally got a hold of them after 2 months of texting//calling and their solution was to ask if they could give us a quote to refinish them again. They do really high quality work and I very fairly priced...plus everyone was delightful to work with from owners to installers. This last time I needed repairs from railing pulled out and new ones installed. The repair work is stunning!! My husband & I worked with Meyer Skidmore & their team to redo our main level hickory floors. We had old carpet (many dogs) in the living room, office & bedroom & water damage in a few areas in the existing hickory floor kitchen. Abbey & Katie came over and measured & did a great job answering any of our questions. We did get a few other quotes but Meyer Skidmore was very competitive & the customer service could not be beat. The team came in and completely transformed our home. The guys were so friendly, considerate & over the top nice, even when I asked them a million questions. I was pretty nervous about picking a stain, not wanting to make a wrong choice and they took the time to explain what the pros/cons of my choices were. We decided on the Duraseal Provincial stain & the oil/poly finish since its more durable for dogs. We are in love with our floors & were blown away by the work they did. We were out of town for the last half of the job and we came home to a super clean house. I was actually surprised at how clean it was! I would hands down recommend Meyer Skidmore to my friends, family, & strangers! Beautiful job, wonderful team & very happy clients here! Suggestions for others going to hardwood: purchase felt pads for all of your furniture in advance of moving furniture back in, it took 1-2 days to get the majority of the smell out of the house with the windows open, if you have dogs get some dog socks from Amazon they are very helpful. read more

Unfortunately I can't say I had a good install from Meyer Skidmore. I ordered a float install and the installer nailed it down. Salt to the wound is where Abbey insists my partner approved the change when he wasn't even on location the entire 1st day this work was done. For some reason she can't comprehend this. Additionally, they left us with a missing T mold install (was in the work order) and he took the wood straight to the bath tile floor sharp edges, floor vents were cut too large, screws sticking up in the other T mold, and the 3rd of 3 T mold was split in half when he tried screwing it in. There's a gap between the T mold and the flooring too, which he puttied. It's a near 1/4 inch gap. I sent images to Abbey only to be told she's the "professional installer" and acknowledged none of the issues in the images, while also living in full denial that it's impossible for someone to approve a job they weren't present for and hadn't met or spoken to the worker. The entire experience with this company has been bizarre and disappointing. read more

Recently added wood flooring to our main living area which had to match two different existing wood floors. The installers did an excellent job and kept the dust to a minimum. yo can't tell where the old wood starts. We had a miscommunication as to where the wood met the carpet and, without hesitation, Abbey had them change it with no extra charge. A job well done. read more

I had Meyer Skidmore install the wood flooring in my home in 2005 and they were fantastic, with high quality, professional work and a gorgeous finished product. So when I purchased my new place this summer, of course I called them. The experience this time was disappointing: the team was rushed and sloppy in the planning process and customer service has been lackluster. I was told by MS staff that the carpet I was ordering was low VOC and pesticide-free (I have proven severely allergic to pesticides in the past and wanted to avoid them). After I paid the carpet deposit and the carpet arrived (but had not yet been installed), I discovered that the carpet I ordered was actually treated with pesticide. The Meyers Skidmore team eventually admitted that this was the case and I canceled installation, but they were very slow to rectify the situation and return my deposit, and were initially noncommittal and unresponsive to my inquiries, citing challenges with getting a refund from the manufacturer. The mistake was not the manufacturer's, so this was a moot point. They finally sent me a message yesterday saying a refund check was in the mail, but this has taken weeks and multiple inquiries on my part. Overall, MS seems harried, rushed and doesn't know its products. If you are concerned about the contents of the products you put into your home and to which you expose your family, I'd suggest using another flooring company--I have subsequently disussed my flooring needs with two other companies in Boulder and both were much better informed about low toxicity products. read more

Flooring guys from Meyer Skidmore are at my house right now. It is literally 6 o'clock on Friday afternoon and they're working hard to finish because were having a party Sunday. When I was looking for a flooring contractor I did what everyone else does and asked around but that left me with too many choices and I could not decide who to hire. Then my neighbors were using Meyer Skidmore. I called Bart and he came out and gave me a price and put me on the schedule. I cannot say enough about how great a job they did. Everything was cleaned every day after they finished work. Floors look fantastic. I have a brother who's a contractor that saw their work about halfway through and was very impressed. Meyer Skidmore rocks. I had old existing floors in a gut and remodel that were in different rooms. When we tore down the walls the seams and the direction of the boards didn't match up. Meyer Skidmore did all sorts of magic tricks so that I could save the existing floor yet have a floor that no one would guess wasn't completely new. It was like solving a puzzle and everyone on the job (the tiler, the supervisor, the architect, the designer etc.) were singing their praises. Look no further if you want beautiful floors. read more
