It's been 2 years and I'm still sore with the management on this job. The guys on site were great. But there was zero communication between the person I hired and the team that showed up. If I wasn't on site during the job there would have been huge mistakes. There was a request for extra flooring that was an agreed part of the contract that was ignored until I threatened to delay payment. That was finally resolved after several weeks (after much complaining from them afterwards) It should have been taken care of when the flooring was ordered. All in all after a ton work on my end I got what I needed but not without a ton of hassle and ZERO customer support. read more

I'm updating my previous 1 star to 3 stars. Although Shawn was unpleasant at best and unwilling to accept responsibility for the situation with our flooring, he eventually came around when my husband spoke with him. He sent Stephan to redo the entire job by himself for all of Memorial Day weekend (he's a veteran...not appropriate for Shawn to have done in my opinion). Let me just say, the floors look fantastic now. He folded back the carpets, removed the toilet and pedestal sink (which wasn't done with the first refinishing), pulled out all of the damaged trim and replaced with new trim, Stephan is the only saving grace for this company under this new ownership. Today is the last day of the job so once everything's finished, I will upload updated photos. read more

I have used Floor Crafters for a number of projects over the past 20 years. They have been my go-to for wood floor installs and refinishing. I just used them for a small project in a condo here in Boulder. During the project, there were a number of mishaps including apt no-shows, and poor communications. The highlight was walking into the project and seeing the wrong material being laid. It took some time to get the correct material. They left the wrong material at the condo and it took weeks for them to send someone to pick it up. After all of this, they made no offer to adjust the bill or anything to make things right. I believe there has been a change in ownership with Floor Crafters in the past several years. They have some rough edges to work out. There are many other options in Boulder I would reach out to before considering working with this firm. read more

We just used Floor Crafters to refinish our main floor, and they also installed a little bit of new flooring. On the positive side, the install went really smoothly and they accomodated our schedule. Then, it was time for the refinishing. Ugggg!! After the refinishing was complete, we had what the industry calls "boogers" all over our floors. They agreed that the work was not to their standard so they would fix the issues. Welll....it is better, but not to the quality that is expected when you pay thousands of dollars. My recommendation would be to use Wood Wise intead. I certainly wish we had. read more

I just had Floor Crafters install about 400 sq. feet of hardwoods on the top floor of our house - to match the floors they had installed in the rest of the house (done before we bought this house). Totally professional at every contact point, from staging the wood, through install - even post install service to follow up on a small detail that I had commented on. The installers were tidy, professional and punctual. We went with the "dustless" service option, which was pretty much as represented, a few minutes to clean up with a wet rag and the place looks better than ever. Very highly recommended, can't imagine how someone could have done a better job! read more

We just had our 10 year old floors refinished by Floor Crafters and we are thoroughly impressed with their work. Tom, the estimator, was very knowledgeable, professional and clean. And this is important as I did not have the same experience with some other floor companies. We had 3 wooden vents installed to match our floor and the installer was quick and efficient. This allowed for the floor crew to come in later that day. Jacob & Mark did a thorough job and stayed late in the day to get the job done. Unfortunately will never use this company again. Had them refinish our floors once before and did a nice job. We decided to refinish our kitchen which required the floor to be refinished again. The crew showed up several hours late and quality was poor. They came back to repair their inferior work, improved it slightly, however damaged one of my brand new appliances in the process. I had a warranty on my appliance that repaired the damage however was disappointed that company took no responsibility for their crews lack of care and respect for me and my home. I would recommend staying away from this company. read more

We could not have been happier with the service and quality provided by FloorCrafters. They put in 1,250 square feet of new floors for us to match 90- year old existing hardwood and did a beautiful job. The material was 1 1/2 inch white oak, and no other company in town could even find it to give us a bid. (Two other companies bid the job using other materials.) They made a beautiful removable hatch in a hall closet (space we needed to access). They also refinished several old floors for us. Again, excellent. Our dining room needed patching, and all the other companies wanted to rip out the existing wood; Floorcrafters meticulously laced in the new to join with the old. Their estimate was accurate, they always came when they said they would and were very flexible when we needed to change the schedule more than once. (We needed more time for optimally dry conditions in a basement location; instead of moving forward, they did the right thing and waited until the subfloor was dry enough. Otherwise, warping of the new floor could have occurred.) They also answered all of our questions and each worker was friendly, polite, skilled and accommodating. We would absolutely use them again and recommend them to our friends. read more

I'm posting this because I came to these reviews to help with my choice for an installer. I want to provide the same help to those evaluating companies. This started with a conversation with Evelyn about wanting to make sure that I, the customer, got everything I wanted etc. etc. so I booked the estimate/measure. Tom did the measure on a Thurs, was a nice guy, and said he'd give me a quote and include measures I would need for flex molding etc. I called Tues and was promised the quote at the end of the day ( I was also told they would check on some samples I was interested in looking at). Didn't get anything so called and Evelyn who said all the nice things about wanting me to get what I needed, said sorry, we want you to be happy etc. and that she would get it to me, I was reassured. She sent a quote without the molding details, so I asked her about this and she said she'd talk to Tom and get back with this. She also said she would include the sq ft break down of each room, so I could decide what work I wanted done. Talked to her yesterday and asked for info on whether they do portions of a room like a landing and hallway, if I wanted to do the main room myself (they would still do the entire upstairs). She responded rudely and far from the original tone of "wanting to give you what you want". I was simply asking the question. Anyway, it's Friday, I still don't have the info I asked for on the quote or any info on the samples. When people can't follow through with these small things, you don't trust them with a $14,000 investment in hardwood flooring. read more
