    Cincinnatus pizza
    Ann S.

Friday night is pizza night and we found ourself in Mariemont at Mio's. We ordered a Cincinnatus pizza which was pretty good! It had some sesame seeds on the crust which I think I would request to omit next time - not horrible but gave the crust a bagel vibe in my opinion...and if you're going to go with that vibe why not go full-on everything bagel! But seriously, I would just go with no sesame seeds. I had a glass of chianti (husband said it tasted like "something your dad would drink" - Dad was not a connoisseur...) which was good enough, and hubby had a beer which he enjoyed. We found easy parking in the back and appreciated the cozy interior space with murals. Service was quick and pleasant. A nice, no frills Friday night pizza.

Mio's has solid Pizza (the 1975). Amy (our server) was fantastic. Antipasto was perfect. My one complaint was that there was no Mexican beer on Cinco de Mayo. It's definitely not Not my fault, I went for Italian food on cinco de Mayo. Customer service for the win! Amy found me a Dos Equis glass for Cinco! Good enough for me!

Cozy inside. Paper on tables so kids can color.

Cozy little pizza joint with white paper as table covering so kids and adults can draw and color! House salad is very basic however been sure to get one of their homemade dressings. We ordered the Cincinnatus pizza and it had a sesame seed crust. It was very good and highly recommended. They always have four or five beers on tap and a small selection of wine. Service was speedy and polite. Quaint little area in Mariemont with other eateries very close by and all within walking distance.

Really solid pizza place in my neighborhood that doesn't break the bank. I really like the sesame crust and the fact it's a thinner pizza.

I don't really have words to describe it. They only have one size pizza and, at first, I thought it was huge. However, the flavor was so amazing I kept wanting more. Hubs and I did a half and half pizza. His half was the Alms Park and my half was bacon and pineapple. I probably could have eaten a whole pizza by myself. The blend of cheeses and their sauce - so stinking good. We also got a house salad to split. Being that this was to go - they gave us the main salad in one container with their house made croutons in a separate container and their house made vinaigrette in a separate container - it keeps everything fresh and crisp! The croutons were so delicious and fresh! On top of that, the vinaigrette was amazing. We both fell in love with it. We walked in and ordered instead of placing online or calling. The service was AMAZING! We decided to wait in our car and they walked it out to us! They were amazingly friendly and wonderful. Their pizza isn't the cheapest pizza around but it was worth the money we spent. This won't be an every week visit, but definitely a new favorite. While this location is carry-out only, it was very welcoming. They also sell bottles of wine and had signs talking about them. It was a very neat little local place. I'd like to actually try their new location where we can eat in! Do yourself a favor and try this place.

It was heavenly - couldn't even tell it was dairy free. Tasted like a rich fudge popsicle, in scoop-able form. It was pretty empty when we dined around 11:30 on a Wednesday. Now as a sweets lover the gelato really stole the show here. We tried the cookies and cream but the sweet cream base I could devour in gallons! It was perfectly sweet and rich in flavor. I will dream about this gelato for days to come. Overall, a cute and affordable place to stop and catch up with friends. Looking forward to coming back soon.

We had better service here than most "normal" sit down restaurants. And the food...not one item we have tried was bad, the vast majority have been the best in their category. Best mozzarella sticks: it's obvious it's a higher quality mozz than whatever everyone else uses. Crispy perfection! Best GF/cauliflower pizza: lots of toppings to choose from (though somehow chicken isn't an option on DD) and again, from the mushrooms to the sauce, you can taste the difference. They make the sauces in house! According to my husband, best Chicken Parm he has had since moving here! You get a healthy portion. And...best cannoli in the area! Growing up in a predominantly Italian and Polish area, I have been lucky to have REALLY good Italian pastries...and their cannoli was reminiscent of those times. This has been the ONLY cannoli in the greater Cincy area that is worth consuming, IMO. All in all, we would dine in at Il Gusto constantly, if we lived closer. Glad they're on DoorDash though! If you are in the Kenwood area, and want a break from the chaos and crowds, Il Gusto is close by!

It was honestly so delicious, and oddly enough was even better reheated the next day! (Reheated great in a toaster oven) It also came out quicker than I expected. (With it being Chicago deep dish, I was prepared to wait!) We also got their appetizer sampler. The items were good, but the pizza balls definitely stood out! The dough was so fantastic and clearly homemade. It was perfectly buttery and flaky, yet firm structural. The sauce was also delicious. A must: pairing everythingggg with their house made ranch. My brother got a steak hoagie and was pretty disappointed when a small sandwich with a meat patty and a side of potato chips is what came out. It just didn't match the caliber of the pizza at all. We also got to Italian sub style hoagies, and those were both small and underwhelming as well. The dining room had a bit of a disheveled feel but I couldn't quite put my finger on what was off. The gentleman who brought us our caprese salad, didn't directly say anything to us, but instead spoke only to the bartender (as he placed the salad in front of us) and told him not to place any more orders for caprese. He seemed inconvenienced by our order and more interested in his smoke break. We were surprised at the presentation and at the lack of flavor but assumed that the pizza would be amazing! based on what we had read and heard - but were incredibly disappointed. The pizza was flavorless and Incredibly greasy. Our impression is that this must be a great location for college students or those who have enjoyed their drinking experience and need some grease to sober them up and don't mind what they are eating. We were very let down in our experience and the lack of professionalism from the employee who seemed to think that since he was in the speakeasy, he didn't need to be professional.
