Such a cute and cozy little restaurant! The service was great and the food was pretty good. I loved the crayons on the table that kids can color on the table or anyone can draw on the wall. My brother had the lasagna and my mom had the hot ham and cheese sandwich. The manager at Mio's in Mariemont made sure we will not return.The baby was loud, we apologized to the other customers, we brought snacks and drinks and toys to give the baby while we waited for the restaurant food. The baby was secured in a high chair, not running around. The manager told us to control the noise, the the customers told us they understood, and shared their similar stories. This is a family restaurant. This was very difficult as the baby is only 17 months and is learning . Friday night is pizza night and we found ourself in Mariemont at Mio's. We ordered a Cincinnatus pizza which was pretty good! It had some sesame seeds on the crust which I think I would request to omit next time - not horrible but gave the crust a bagel vibe in my opinion...and if you're going to go with that vibe why not go full-on everything bagel! But seriously, I would just go with no sesame seeds. I had a glass of chianti (husband said it tasted like "something your dad would drink" - Dad was not a connoisseur...) which was good enough, and hubby had a beer which he enjoyed. I had to give my medium pepperoni pizza from Mio's a review, especially since I'm not a huge fan of pizza. The crust wasn't an inch thick, just enough of a bready goodness smeared with a great tasting sauce. Not thick like tomato paste, kind of marinara, but better in my opinion. Nothing amazing about it, but it's thinner than a lot of other spots in town so you don't feel as bad about yourself after scarfing down a whole pie. As for the pasta... Wow it was awesome. We ordered one salad, they brought us two, fine, we didn't say anything, we were hungry anyway and didn't mind paying. I had 2 cherry tomatoes in mine and one of them had a big squishy mold spot right on it, literally green and fuzzy. It was facing up center plate, how do you send that out? This was my very first time at Mio's and I was very excited about it. We went around 12pm during lunch hour. We got a cute booth with a big window which made our table aesthetically pleasing. They took a while to take our order. So, we doodled on the table with the crayons that were provided and made the wait okay. I decided to get a lunch special(pep pizza and a soup). All the food was simple and so tasty here. If you like cheese, this is the place to be. All the servings were decent size. My daughter enjoyed potato soup with cheese breadsticks. It comes with marinara sauce which cuts the grease down and is a perfect combo with breadsticks. My husband ordered meatball galore. It was meatball in red sauce baked with cheese on top. Definitely tasty, except I got full very quickly with all the cheese. Not something I can do all the time but is an excellent treat on a cold, winter day. We play hang man on the paper table cloth and with the new expanded dining area, it's never too long to wait in Mio's! I will order deep dish pizza and watch the Reds (lately it's been about losing but, hey! It's the REDS!) Anyway, we like the new area and there are TV's are everywhere. We think the pizza is to die for......I am partial to "the Original Chef's Special" but the Chicken BBQ pizza is good too. I have to say that this place shaped up. It's not the most amazing pizza in the world, but it's food. The restaurant menu hold typical italian-esque sides (cheese sticks, bread sticks, etc..) that are also quite good. If i'm being honest, this place also holds my guilty pleasure of serving Coca Cola in very large glasses. Mio's has really reasonable--and very filling--weekday lunch specials. I'm a bit partial to the salad and one filling calzone (they'll gladly let you add more fillings to a calzone and/or toppings on the salad for a nominal charge). Try the house Italian dressing or the creamy garlic--both are pretty good. The pizza is also quite good. I think the sauce has plenty of tomato and just enough spice to make things interesting, but not overpowering. Really, between what I've tried and what everyone else I know has had, I don't think you can go wrong here. They also have a frequent lunch card (Buy 9 Lunches, Get One Free) available at the register. Where should I start, I spend anywhere from 250 to 500 a month here between bringing my family and clients from fortune 50 company's. Tonight proved a valid point after seeing the employees on there phones, Smoking at the back employee entrance and I seen roaches all over the booth and window sills, what what's worst of all I seen a rat run across the dinning room. The food has gone down hill it's usually under cooked or burnt. We live nearby and order out often. Our last three orders have been wrong so I guess we're going to have to start checking before we leave the store. This time my wife's salad was not included and my sandwich was missing the lettuce and tomato and mayo it normally includes. I really cannot understand why this keeps happening. It seems to me the easiest way would be for a point person in the restaurant to check all orders and insure they are properly prepared and then assembled together for the customer to pick up. The paper on the tables is such a hit with the under four foot crowd and for those well above the legal age, the small albeit decent beer and wine menu is welcome. I have eaten at Mio's twice now. A good friend of mine, who lives in Cincinnati, has invited me to join him on both occasions, and I after the first instance, I jumped at the opportunity to visit Mio's a second time. The restaurant is clean and spacious. While some other pizzeria's in the Mariemont area do not provide quality customer service, Mio's atones for their mistakes by treating the customer with respect and showing that his eating experience is the most important priority at the restaurant. The same manager was working both times I visited, and both times he stopped by our table to ensure that we were having an enjoyable time and receive our feedback. Even though there were many other customers at the restaurant, we still felt incredibly important to the staff (and the manager too)! The food was unforgettable. Mia's shows a great interest in details of presentation and taste with their offerings. The balance between flavors in the pepperoni deep dish was astonishing. Not too much pepperoni, not too much mozzarella, not too much sauce, and definitely not too much crust. The ratios between them were excellent! One thing I do wish is that Mio's would raise the age for coloring contest participants. I can't wait to visit this Mio's location again and try other items on the menu! read more

Of Mio's seven locations, this one is my absolute favorite. The dining room is charmingly designed to be both visually interesting and comfortable. It's a perfect place for a cozy date or when family comes to visit. We always get the deep-dish pizza and come here when we're craving a big, hearty pizza full of cheese and flavor (If we're craving artsy pizza, we dine at Dewey's). I've had both the meat topper and veggie topper, which are each delicious in their own way. Because they prep their veggie mix in the morning, you can't get the veggie topper without onions. Although I hate onions, I couldn't really taste them in the mix, so don't be afraid to try it! The deep-dish pizzas take a little longer to cook, so you may want to order an appetizer. I find the basil bread a good choice-- and a surprising kid-pleaser. read more
